The most frustrating thing is we have found a place we want to buy and for some reason we just can't seem to make it work. It was on the market as a short sale, we offered more than they were asking because it was really underpriced. Our offer was accepted, but the bank decided to foreclose anyway. Then it is back on the market as a bank owned and we made an offer for more than they were asking, but our offer wasn't accepted - we assume someone offered more. The process if that deal fell through was supposed to be that they would accept the next best offer, but instead it is back on the market again for $20K less than our last offer! I just don't get it!! Oh well, I think I'm going to go play with the grandbabies instead! =)
that is so screwed up MK...I don't understand how banks do businessalmost like one of the stories from when I was house-hunting...we went into a house, it had literally been stripped - no carpet, no light fixtures, no toilet...it had literally been gutted - none of which was indicated on listing...my relator was soo mad about that
Dee wrote: "that is so screwed up MK...I don't understand how banks do businessalmost like one of the stories from when I was house-hunting...we went into a house, it had literally been stripped - no carpet,..."
I heard stories like that, especially with foreclosures. We saw some of that when we were looking for our first house. Crazy!!
this one wasn't even a foreclosure - it was a straight sale...oh well, I like where I ended up - unfortunately now I have to move because of new orders
MountainKat wrote: "Hina wrote: "Congrats on the anniversary! I hope the rest works out."Thanks Hina! The most frustrating thing is we have found a place we want to buy and for some reason we just can't seem to mak..."
yeah I have sen that with bank owned or short sale properties. Although I can't ever figure it out what's going on in the bank's head. You really have to be in love with the house because the banks take months to do anything.
Dee wrote: "this one wasn't even a foreclosure - it was a straight sale...oh well, I like where I ended up - unfortunately now I have to move because of new orders"Moving stinks! But hopefully you will end up somewhere nice again! We are just trying to find a place where we can be together since my hubby has been working 4 or 5 hours away for almost 4 years. He was renting up there, but had to move because they were selling. He has been working remotely, but that isn't going to last. I sure am enjoying it for now though!
My fiancee and I spent some time looking at houses, but with everything else going on and on top to plan a wedding. I was way too stress to enjoy house hunting and we decided to put it off for now.
MountainKat wrote: "I'm in! Since my hubby and I celebrated our 29th anniversary this week, I'm not going to be happy unless I make it to Golden Anniversary. But because my immediate future is a bit in the air, hubb..."Kat,
I'm sorry to hear about the added surgery. Wishing you super speedy recovery time (and lots of good books to read while mending;)). Hopefully the right place for you and hubby will turn up soon :)

Thanks Fran! I'm getting a second opinion in a couple of weeks, but I think that is the way it's headed. I really hope I can read more during this recovery! My surgery last year threw me for a loop, I couldn't focus enough to read for several weeks! It was depressing!
I'm definitely in, but I've been debating how many I want to commit to. I finally decided that I know myself well enough to know I won't be happy unless I do them all, so I'll go for Golden Anniversary!

Good luck with ALL of it MountainKat. The best thing you can do is relax (okay -- try to relax) and let it all carry out as it should. The perfect place will fall in your lap and the recovery will be speedy and well read. In the last few years I have discovered how really important the power of positive thinking can be on your ability to mend. (I will admit I am still working on myself in that area, but have seen amazing results in a few people who are very closeto me!)
