Kerri_M | 785 comments Just finished A Quiet Life In The Country by T E Kinsey

I "bought" this ebook, a new to me author, as a freebie through Bookbub, purely based on the blurb. A period whodunnit, with amusing dialogue between the main characters, and hints as to the back story which presumably will feature in future books in the series. Will be looking out for them.

A Quiet Life In The Country (Lady Hardcastle Mysteries #1) by T E Kinsey ★★★★

I found it very confusing to start with but worth sticking with to get to find the answers.

Doesn't look like my libraries have them, going to have to invest some $$ :)

They aren't too dear - the last I purchased is the Christmas novella; the only one I didn't have and haven't read :)

Kerri_M | 785 comments Just finished Shadow Over the Fens by Joy Ellis.

No # in this series, I enjoyed it, but I found one of the two main characters a bit stilted, didn't quite read like a real person. I don't remember feeling that way after the first book in the series (which I read 12 months or so ago) so will give #3 a try, and make up my mind after that if I keep going with the series.

Shadow Over the Fens (DI Nikki Galena, #2) by Joy Ellis ★★★★ (nearly went for 3.5 because of my issues with one of the characters, but am feeling generous)

PattyMacDotComma | 818 comments Midnight at the Bright Ideas Bookstore by Matthew J. Sullivan is a mystery with a catchy title, but it isn't really about books.

Kerri_M | 785 comments Just finished The Hanover Square Affair by Ashley Gardner.

#1 in the Captain Lacey series. I enjoyed this book, but found it a bit put down-able. It didn't keep me reading until the wee hours.

The Hanover Square Affair (Captain Lacey Regency Mysteries, #1) by Ashley Gardner ★★★☆

Kerri_M | 785 comments Just finished Y is for Yesterday by Sue Grafton. Published in 2017, and intended to be the penultimate in the series. I have been reading this series since the early 90's and sad to know it is finished, but not finished the way the author intended.

Y is for Yesterday (Kinsey Millhone, #25) by Sue Grafton ★★★★
