I am going to read everyone's The Spotted Dog reviews later. I don't want to know anything about it until I read it myself:)

Good plan Phrynne 😊

Kerri_M | 785 comments Just finished Zero Day by David Baldacci

#1 in the Puller series and a new to me author. The story was ok, although I did skim pages here and there that were a bit sciencey for me. But the writing was clunky, the characters unconvincing.

It has an average of 4* on goodreads, so it must just be a not for me book

Zero Day (John Puller, #1) by David Baldacci ★★

Kerri_M | 785 comments Currently reading In the Cold Dark Ground by Stuart MacBride #10 in the Logan Macrae series.

I have to wonder, has the Aberdeen Tourism council thought about paying Stuart Macbride to set his books somewhere else, they are cannot be good for business, they are so grim! (and that's just the description of the weather)

Lol! Yes you would think they would Kerri! He certainly makes Aberdeen sound like a place not to visit!

And yet Kerri, if you have seen Aberdeen just after it stops raining and the sun comes out it is something to behold. The city is built with lot of granite and when the stone is wet and the sun shines on it it looks like a fairy land all twinkling. It's really is a sight to see. And before you ask no I am not employed by the Aberdeen tourist board :-)

Kerri_M | 785 comments Just finished A Duty To The Dead by Charles Todd, a new to me author and as it turns out, #1 in a series.

Set during WWI, an English army nurse on leave is caught up in a family's secrets and lies that are casting long shadows.

A Duty To The Dead (Bess Crawford, #1) by Charles Todd ★★★☆

Kerri_M | 785 comments Just finished The Celtic Dagger by Jill Paterson.

Not only was the editing in this book terrible, but it was a very strange book to read. Set in current day Australia, the only thing that felt Australian were the place names. There was a real disconnect with this book. If it wasn't a challenge book, I probably would not have finished it. Glad it was short.
