Just finished Last Drinks by Aussie Andrew McGahan. Alcohol, politics, alcohol, corruption, alcohol, murder. Mystery based on 20-year reign of an infested Queensland State Government. (Did I mention the alcohol?)

I enjoyed this thriller despite the inevitable comparisons to Gone Girl. Some similarities in that a missing woman is involved but really quite a different plot.
I find it difficult usually to read books that aren't horror/thriller, but yesterday for some strange reason I picked up Dances with Wolves and I love it.I've never seen the movie (and starring Kevin Costner, I doubt I'll inflict it upon myself) but it's such a great book, I'm already 2/3 finished!
I've finished The Butterfly Garden by Dot Hutchison and enjoyed it very much despite the subject matter of young girls being abducted to fulfill a man's sexual fantasies. It's a very unusual book and totally captivating.https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
