Elke,

Thanks for the picks. I think I'm going to go with Twenty-Eight and a Half Wishes (A Rose Gardner Mystery #1) by Denise Grover Swank . Let me know if you want to buddy-read it with me.

message 382: by Diane ~Firefly~ (new)

Diane ~Firefly~ | 1511 comments Leslie,

Sorry for the delay, but I've been under the weather the last couple of days. I hope you find something you like.

1. Schools Out for Summer! - The Iron King by Julie Kagawa. A good YA fae story.
2. Flag Day, June 14th - Tempting Danger by Eileen Wilks. Lily is a policewoman and this series just keeps getting better.
3. Don't Forget the Sunscreen - Mouth to Mouth by Erin McCarthy. I'm late finishing this from last month's challenge, but it is definitely on the steamy side.
4. I Scream, You Scream, We All Scream for Ice Cream - Sprinkle with Murder by Jenn McKinlay is the start of a cozy mystery series about 2 partners in a cupcake bakery.
5. Fire up the BBQ - Two first books in shapeshifter series (so they tend to be outdoors a lot) from your TBR that you really need to start. Moon Called by Patricia Briggs has Mercy who is a mechanic and ends up involved in the business of the local werewolf pack. Or you could choose Bitten by Kelley Armstrong with Elena, the only female werewolf who is trying to have a normal life until her pack calls her back. Both are great series.
6. Summer Solstice - Ravenous by Sharon Ashwood is a witch who is dealing with haunted houses during the summer to earn tuition and ends up biting off more than she could choose.
7. Gay Pride Month - Blue Diablo by Ann Aguirre has a colorful cover with some very interesting characters. I really liked Chance and Corine.
8. Old Maids Day, June 4th - Agnes and the Hitman by Jennifer Crusie. Agnes is a bit older than most heroines and cranky to boot and you definitely don't want to be around her when she has a frying pan.

Buddy Reads:
9. Sand in Your Shorts - Twenty-eight and a Half Wishes by Denise Swank. I'm going to read this for my pick this month and would be happy to have you join me and my buddy.
10. Best Friends Day, June 8th - Mind Games by Carolyn Crane involves a team, so there should be some friendships in it.

Bonus:
11. Father's Day, June 17th, because we all love a good daddy! - A Dirty Job by Christopher Moore. Moore has an interesting sense of humor. Or Charming the Prince by Teresa Mendeiros where the children are just a tad out of control and really need a mother's touch.

The Iron King (The Iron Fey, #1) by Julie Kagawa Tempting Danger (World of the Lupi, #1) by Eileen Wilks Sprinkle with Murder (A Cupcake Bakery Mystery, #1) by Jenn McKinlay Mouth to Mouth by Erin McCarthy Moon Called (Mercedes Thompson, #1) by Patricia Briggs Bitten (Women of the Otherworld, #1) by Kelley Armstrong Ravenous (The Dark Forgotten, #1) by Sharon Ashwood Blue Diablo (Corine Solomon, #1) by Ann Aguirre Agnes and the Hitman by Jennifer Crusie Twenty-Eight and a Half Wishes (A Rose Gardner Mystery #1) by Denise Grover Swank Mind Games (The Disillusionists Trilogy, #1) by Carolyn Crane A Dirty Job by Christopher Moore Charming the Prince (Fairy Tales, #1) by Teresa Medeiros

I'm so sorry that you weren't feeling well. No worries on my end. I just get impatient to figure out what I'm reading for the month - complete OCD personality! Thanks for the picks. There are some good ones there.

I think I will choose:
Blue DiabloI know this is available at the library for my nook and I've been meaning to read it for awhile. And I will read
Tempting Danger I've been meaning to start this series for awhile, so this is a good opportunity.
And I might start
Moon Calledif I have time. I'm finished with the Kate Daniels series and that is leaving a hole I need to fill with a new UF series.
I won't be able to do a buddy read as I'm doing several with really long books, but thanks!

Hope you feel better soon and thanks again for the picks.

I just finished my first pick, French Fried, which was really good and has been sitting on my shelves forever. Thanks for the push to get to it. I have five of your other recs, so I am set - plus I may get two of the others because they sound so good!
I also picked up Noah's Compass at the library yesterday - did you say you already read it, or do you want to do it as a Buddy Read? I know you said you read some of them, but I wasn't sure if you meant that you had read all of them, or wanted to do any Buddy Reads this month.

message 396: by Nancy H (new)

Nancy H | 1111 comments Gigi,
Do you want to do a Buddy Read with any of the three I recommended for this month? I know you said you might start The Paris Wife, and I have it already if you want to do a Buddy Read for it. I can also get the other two - I have one ordered and my library has the other one, so just let me know.
