Definetly TID. Will is "the one" for me :D
This is so difficult to choose between;( I love both series, TMI is just so action packed while TID is so beautifully written and I just adore the setting...so I guess it's TID then;)
yes, i LOVE TID especially clockwork princess epilogue because its so beutifully written and beats any other books out there!

I love both of them to death and the characters all feel like children.. Is that weird? Well it's true. But honestly I might possibly like the infernal devices a tiny teenie little but more. I just love Jem and how nice a sweet he is. And Henry and Charlotte are like the cutest!!! But I still love clary, jace, and most of all Simon!! (Don't judge he's beautiful) but I just think I had a better and more enjoyable time reading TID that's all..
I like The Infernal Devices better because I found the characters better developed and because of Will
If I really had to choose I think I gonna choose TID. The story in 1878? That's so funny! And I actually loved Will more than Jace. Jace is funny but I love Will is more funny. He makes those crazy and funny songs and does crazy things... And I really LOVE THE LOVE TRIANGLE! It's the best love triangle I ever read!
TMI is in now and it's great but I still love TDI more.
I agree I think the love triangle was AMAZING!!!!! One second I loved jessa and then I loved wessa. And I was so confused about my feelings but I LOVED IT!!!! TID <333!!!
I definitely liked TID better. Don't get me wrong, both series are great. But yea, my vote goes for TID. At the end of Clockwork Princess, I bawled for a good two hours. It was just so tragic and perfect at the same time. The characters just had so much depth and I really felt like I knew them and that I was there with them. Props to Cassie!
I LOVE BOTH SO MUCH!but he writing in TID is better because CC had had more practise, so it was more fluid.

I guess I'm the oddball-out who likes TMI more than TID! It's just that I relate more to Clary, and have a thing for blondes... I was the one who asked to touch his mango if anyone was wondering. lol ;)
The mortal instruments definitely! Even though I adored Will and Jem, Jace just has them beat and I really related to Isabelle.

This is possibly even more difficult that "Who's your favorite character from The Mortal Instruments" (which just results in me listing all the characters)I...have to go with The Infernal Devices overall, because the writing, character development, romance, everything is just perfection.
But then again, TMI has Jace and Isabelle and Simon... this hurts to answer
They are both breathtakingly fantastic, but I have to say infernal devices blew my mind. The clockwork princess is my favorite book in the world

Ikr my mom saw it when I bought it and just went O_o how u gonna read that I'm like oh please I got this I've read bigger books (lie idek how I'll read it lol) it's on my to read shelf though because I have sooo many books checked out from the library so yeah haven't read it :( but I can't WAIT to bawl my eyes out cause I've already been spoiled (mildly I hope) by my friend and I just broke down and gave her the silent treatment for like five minutes and then I was like ummm no so I needed a shoulder to cry on but can't wait *looks at book on book shelf tortured like squeals fangirl like then goes back to reading current book ;-)))
I am almost halfway through the book, but a friend of mine knows someone who has already read it

I used to think that I loved TID more and that TMI could never compare to it and nothing could change my mind about that but WOW! COHF was AMAZING!! I still love TID though.
Yeah I'm the same way but I haven't read COHF yet so yeah I like ID but it'll probably change. :D
Haha! I was hardcore for TID before reading COHF.... Not that I am not still hardcore TID... I love me some Wessa!
Hmm I think I still choose TID.. Although I'm still reading CoHF now. I love Wessa so much.
It was TMI that first made me fall in love with Shadowhunters, but overall, it's The Infernal Devices trilogy that has my heart. Even in City of Heavenly Fire, it was the presence of some of the characters from TID and mentionings of what happened in that series that really hit me hard and got the water works going. About half of my review of COHF is me gushing about the Infernal Devices. :) Plus, Clockwork Princess is one of my favorite books ever.

I agree with Cari. A major reason why I loved COHF is because of characters from TID and Simon.

Why choose! The infernal devices just made the mortal instrument series so much better. Love them all.
The infernal devices!! TID's language was so much more eloquent than TMI. The relationship between the characters are so beautifully written. Will and Jem's relationship really reflected the trust between parabatais, while Alec and Jace just seemed more distant. Jace and Clary's romance also seemed a bit cliche.Don't get me wrong, I love TMI, but TID was just so much better.
I agree with Rachel.. Maybe relationship between Will and Jem is more intense because Jem was dying and also I feel that they know each other even without words. Both love of Wessa and Jessa are so beautiful but there's the difference too.
for me it was infernal devices imean come on its WILL AND JEM but yeah their characters were well developed which i looved ...:)
The infernal devices, the relationships are much better but i think the mortal instruments gets better later in the series. And Will is the best character ever so who would not choose the infernal devices, but the end was really sad though.. (Excuse my grammar, I'm not from an English-speaking country)
i know right i really loved WILL..IT BROKE MY HEART..but yEah the mortal instruments did get better later ...well actually no it was pretty good throughout it just wasnt burstng out for me..:)

I felt in the Infernal devices the characters were more real and dynamic. I felt like I could relate to them more and the last book was flipping beautiful! I love the mortal instruments but compared to the infernal devices it just isn't as deep thought-inducing or tear-inducing!
I have absolutely no idea anymore!As soon as I finish rereading all the infernal devices books I'm like
"Oh yeah these are soo much better."
Then I go and reread the mortal instruments and start thinking
"No wait these are better"
and then I can't decide and I end up rereading again trying to figure it all out.
It's a cycle and quickly become quite problematic.
It was TMI that introduced me to the world of shadowhunters and got me to fall in love with them but TID is amazing and I found myself crying my heart out especially in Clockwork Princess. The characters in TID are absolutely beautiful and got me to keep reading. I still love TMI and CoHF was fantastic. I can't wait for the other 3 series Cassandra Clare is writing! (The Dark Artifices, The Last Hours and The Wicked Powers)
I'm not trying to hate on Clary though, Tessa had imperfections too. Like it annoyed me whenever you could tell someone was about to say something important ( like Will or Jem admitting how then felt or something ) and she would interrupt them! I was like "No!!! Just shut up for a second Tessa! Jeez." Lol
