Both series are great and I love them. But there's just something about TID that breaks my heart, and makes me want to read more.

I read the Infernal Devices series first so of course I love it more than the Mortal Instruments. But I still do of course love the Mortal Instruments. It's cool how in MI how Camille mentions Will Herondale. Will is almost exactly like Jace. I love Texas's personality better than Clary's though.
I love the TMI but ID has stolen my heart. A fan of the clockwork and steampunk element in those books and of course the love triangle. I also really like Jem's and Will's personalities.
I cant belive i have to pick ummmmm i love the mortal instruments but i think after city of glass it drags a bit it should have been ended at the original trilogy (but I'm not complaining i wanted to see more as much as any other reader) but i love the infernal devices more who doesn't get hooked by a good love triangle so I'm going to have to say infernal devices are my favorite
This is a really hard choice! I love both series and I couldn't live without them, but as much as I love TMI, I think I'll pick TID because Im deeply in love with Will ♥.
I CAN'T DECIDE!!!The two series (MI & ID) are both amazing, but I would have to say Infernal Devices are slightly, ever-so-slightly better. I am NOT just saying this because I love Will, but I love the setting of ID compared to MI. Jace is funny, but Will is funny AND intelligent AND classically educated (ie. Charles Dickens)

I have really fallen in love with Infernal Devices. I can't choose between the love triangle....it's so painful! Jem and Will are just too amazing. But Jace will always be my favorite blonde ;P
Clockwork Angel was the first book i read of either series and the Infernal Devices have been my favourite since. I group the Mortal Instruments and Infernal Devices together though as my all time favourite series...but Infernal Devices sinches it with Will and Jem...i cant decide who i love more!? Xoxo
I absolutely love both but if I had to pick my favourite it would be the mortal instruments. I lot my events happen in that book and its a bit more exciting.
It just seems to so difficult to even compare because both series are so different from each other, but if I really had to choose, I'd pick the Mortal Instruments series.
NOOOOO!!!! THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS IS BETTER!!! COME ON YOU PEOPLE!!!Okay here's the thing: In The Infernal Devices you have two heartbreakingly amazing boys that are absolutely to die-for: sweet, loving and yet inexplicably sexy Jem and the tough-guy-on-the-outside-but-broken-and-forever-hurting-within William (who also happens to remind me of Jace) and yeah I get it, the characters (and not just these two) and the plot makes TID really interesting but COME ONE! TMI is still better. Also, personally Im sick and tired of those him-or-him dilemma the herioines in books we have these days. Nobody can argue that TID is a very well-written and enjoyable book but there's something about The Mortal Instruments that just draws you in, and Clary and Jace's chemistry and relationship just seals the deal.
I have to go with The Infernal Devices, mostly because i love books that are set in that time period. Also Magnus, one of my all time favorite characters, is in the Infernal Devices as well as the Mortal Instruments so with the time period and Magnus combined The Infernal Devices comes out on top! :) Not to mention Mr. William Herondale.
They are both great, but I think MI is better because I have known the characters longer.

Dont get me wrong i love Jace Alec and Magnus and all the others but it gets... whats the word... boring? make me want to read less? with we-can-get-together-no-we-cant-yes-we-can-no-we-cant-etc. Other than that the books were AMAZINGLY AWESOME. But Will and Jem are a tad bit better.
Infernal Devices... because of Will! I love TMI and everyone in it, but Will and Tessa and Jem, and Henry and Charlotte and Jessamine, and Magnus and Camille and Mortmain... the plot is just so amazing!
I like Mortal Instruments better...Don't get me wrong; I loved ID but MI pulled me in from the very first page while it took me a few chapters to get into ID though I loved the prologue from the start. MI also is a bit more exciting and suspenseful...It isn't entirely based on romance (though there's plenty of that, too) but of course the battle between good and evil and all that, and there's a lot more humour to the books and they're action-packed and overall suspenseful. I liked how each chapter kept me on edge and I found myself being able to relate more to the characters, maybe because of the different time periods (though I love Victorian England)...

TMI is good. I haven't read TID. I started but didn't finish. So I'll go with The Mortal Instruments! I loved the series .
Why would you even want to choose? Team Will!

this is soooooooooo...... hard i love both series I love Jace soooo much but i adore the relationship Jem and Will has and I love the love triangle between Jem Tessa and Will. I like Mortal Instruments also because they bring in more downworlders in it and for me it also has a bit more action in it but I love both soooooooo much I cant explain how much trust me on that

I'd say TMI because I haven't read TID yet.
It really pains me to say this... it really does.. because it's like choosing a favorite child.. but I can't lie, the Infernal Devices is incredible. The Mortal instruments is obviously amazing too, but the story in TID is so fast paced and unexpected and ejhvbrquhebvhbb. Plus Tessa is a more BA main character :P
I started off reading The Mortal Instruments series and found myself hooked, but after reading The Infernal Devices I found I was more drawn to the characters and Victorian writing style. Can't wait to finally read Clockwork Princess. Hopefully the third installment is the last. While I loved all 5 books (I've read so far) of The mortal Instruments, I feel it would have been a perfect ending as the third being the last.
Though I love TID, I have to say I like MI better. I just identify more with those characters, and love the modern setting of New York City. I kind of wish Cassandra Clare had stopped after 3 books, or at least put book 4-6 as a spinoff

TID FOREVER! :) I love TMI too, but TID more. The love triangle is agonizing, I love the period it's set in and I absolutely love the characters and their experiences. Will us my fave character. :)

TMI, I mean, I love TID but the ending was so... My life was ruined by the end of TID okay? seriously, Cassie is a life ruiner (and her books are literally perfect ugh)
I like TID better than TMI. TMI is good but it's too dragged out in my opinion and Clary and Jace are a bit annoying.

Infernal Devices! Will kicks all ass! Plus I am in love with the couples in this series way more than in mortal instuments. Will is a rude arrogant ass for a reason (the curse). Jace is just a rude arrogant ass. Maybe get him a good theropist then we will talk.
Before I said The Mortal Instruments because I hadn't read all the The Infernal Devices books, but after reading Clockwork Princess, my mind changed. I love the characters in The Infernal Devices and The Mortal Instruments, but I just love the setting and time period of The Infernal Devices, and just the pure lovableness of Will. And if course, as I am a romance junkie, this definitely satisfied me more, as it is romance with a bit of action/adventure when The Mortal Instruments is more action/adventure with a bit of romance. And The Infernal Devices made me cry multiple times which I think is always a good trait in a book.
Both....but if it was based on characters I would totally pick TID cause of my sexy book boyfriend Will Herondale...(his mine)
I will fight you guys for Will! I mean who wouldn't want a super sexy boy riding his horse for days just to save you! He is my favorite character out of all the books i read, and this is why i like TID more! :P
I would go with The Infernal Devices. But The Mortal Instruments would always have a place in my heart.
ID. mostly because of will and jem. they make have and Alec look like acquaintances in comparison.
Definitely TID. TMI should have ended with city of glass and its so confusing with jace and clary so TID all the way (:
