Ariel (beautytwo) | 51 comments I'm gonna have to say The Infernal Devices is my favorite of the two. There's nothing wrong with The Mortal Instruments, because I'm obsessed with that series too, but I just liked The Infernal Devices better. It captured my attention and kept it locked up so that my eyes had no choice but to remain glued to the pages. The thing that made it my favorite is that I honestly could not see what was going to happen next. I loved both Will and Jem immensely and didn't want either of them to not get Tessa. This was just amazing to me. I've never been so clueless and undecided about a series before. This is definitely one of my top favorite series EVER,and will forever remain in that status! (But believe me, The Mortal Instruments comes close behind The Infernal Devices in my favorites, it's just that The Infernal Devices is a slight millimeter ahead.)

Lauren Leyland (laurenamy) | 1 comments I have to say, I love TID just a little bit more than TMI, as the love triangle between Jem, Tessa, and Will, is absolutely amazing. I also love the ending a little bit more as i would not of expected what happened <3

message 153: by Maisie (new)

Maisie (iammaisiee) | 6 comments this is so difficult!!!!! i love both of them the same!!!!!

message 154: by arabella (new)

arabella | 59 comments Impossible choice. Let me think. Probably Infernal Devices???

message 155: by Nerdread (new)

Nerdread (nardie) After reading Clockwork princess, and get my heart broken i am back being TMI fan.

message 156: by Nancy (new)

Nancy (nancymarie) | 1 comments While I do love both, I would have to say the Infernal Devices- the characters are much better developed and more fun to read about, the romance is much more intriguing, and the plot is more interesting.

Juan (ldgm300) | 47 comments Lola wrote: "Emma wrote: "I have to say TMI because that was her starting series, and i can't resist Malec"

who's malec?"

Malec is Alec's and Magnus' couple name ccombined=)
Ma(Magnus)+lec(Alec)=Malec

message 158: by Mako (new)

Mako (makoko) I love both series. I love TID because of Will. And TMI because of Jace. Not because they are handsome, but because of everything that happened to them both.

message 159: by Loretta (new)

Loretta Lawrence (lorettalawrence) | 18 comments Infernal Devices!! I just love Jem wayyy too much!

message 160: by SHINY (new)

SHINY | 771 comments It is an impossible choice to decide between TMI and TID they are both amazing!!! I just love both series way too much.

message 161: by cecilia (new)

cecilia I love Will, yet I don't!! But I feel the same about Jace sometimes, so it's a hard choice. I can't choose.

message 162: by T.J. (new)

T.J. | 111 comments TID.

Drew | 5 comments Ophelia wrote: "MORTAL INSTRUMENTS ALL THE WAY! but, don't get me wrong- i absolutely love the ID series, but MI stole my heart first! i will always love the story of Jace and Clary and it will always be my favori..."

Clary & Jace<3<3

message 164: by Drew (new)

Drew | 5 comments Although I absolutely LOVE TMI so much, I think I liked TID a teensy-weensy bit more. The Victorian Era, The Love Triangle, Magnus.(: Oh, but I have to say, I think I liked Jace more than Will in TMI. In TID, Jem definitely stole my heart before Will. However, I almost think that I loved both series equally!

Julia Griffis - The Romance Bibliophile (theromancebibliophile) This is such a difficult decision to make because I love and adore the characters from both series. As of right of now, I am going to say "The Infernal Devices" because I just can't stop thinking about Will, Tessa, and Jem. I plan on re-reading both series, however, so I may change my opinion.

message 166: by Leyi (new)

Leyi (featherss) | 3 comments Infernal Devices for the win! I love Jem and all but I'm team Will. However, I bought the Collector's First Edition, and it turns out there's a Carstair's Herondale Lightwood Family tree. And I get spoiled that Will and Tessa end up naming their child after Jem, when I was still on the part where they were about to get married.

message 167: by Abby (new)

Abby | 3 comments Both? Both? Both. Both is good

message 168: by Banana (new)

Banana | 7 comments i have to say ID as i found the MI started to almost drag on. it should have ended on book 3. and i found book 4 pointless though book 5 was good it could almost have been the start of a completely new series.

message 169: by Ash (new)

Ash Fray (AshFray) | 3 comments Both, but TID is pretty awesome :)

message 170: by Aria (new)

Aria Sani (ariasani) | 2 comments Hmmm...for now I love TID more than TMI simply bcos its finished and had such a fantastic ending. Probably will change my mind when the next TMI book comes out.

message 171: by Kaye Kashka (new)

Kaye Kashka Ibarra (kazhka) | 2 comments I cant, for the life of me, possibly choose between two one-of-a-kind series. ;)

Kaye Kashka Ibarra (kazhka) | 2 comments Yue wrote: "ID. mostly because of will and jem. they make have and Alec look like acquaintances in comparison."

I feel you. :)

message 173: by Joya (new)

Joya | 106 comments It is a hard choice, but I prefer the Infernal Devices to the Mortal Instruments. I feel the characters are stronger and more connected, and I found it interesting that it is set in the Victorian times. I loved the Mortal Instruments, but I often felt frustrated with the characters, and felt that some of their actions were unnecessary, whereas in the infernal devices, most things happened for an obvious reason. overall I loved both series, and I recommend them to everybody.

Jade | 5 comments Ariel wrote: "I'm gonna have to say The Infernal Devices is my favorite of the two. There's nothing wrong with The Mortal Instruments, because I'm obsessed with that series too, but I just liked The Infernal Dev..."

I pretty much agree with this. The only thing was with the TMI I could guess what was going to happen, and the charters felt were a bit jumbled. Let face it Tessa is a much more interesting character then Clary.

message 175: by Neha (new)

Neha (nehalicious69) | 22 comments So far I prefer the Infernal Devices over the Mortal Instruments because I've finished TID though I am on City of Fallen Angels in TMI.

message 176: by Olivia (new)

Olivia | 1 comments I love both series, but there is no contest for me. ID is so much more passionate and trqgic. The love and loss creates a sort of Romeo and Juliette kind of mood. I love all of those types of books because the make me feel more emotion. Yes, MI did make me feel all sorts of feelings (some of which were especially unhappy with the couples), but just not the ones that make me want to sing with joy

message 177: by Ivy (new)

Ivy (ivy48035) Mortal Instruments!!! Definitely

message 178: by Simmaron (new)

Simmaron (mybookedlife) | 131 comments TMI. It has more action and it has developed more. Its not that I don't like TID. It has its own importance for some things that are connected to TMI. But I think TID has more messed up emotions and relations than story. TMI has more story and it covers the life of all the characters.

message 179: by Elvira (new)

Elvira (felvirareads) | 18 comments I'll have to say I like the Infernal Devices better. Because I love how it is in the 1878s, it is really interesting to read about how it was then. For example when we get to know the Consul dosen't want Charlotte to run the Institute because she is a woman. And like some of you mentioned I really love the love triangle, and Will, Tessa and Jem were such amazing characters. Don't get me wrong, I love The Mortal Instruments to though. ;)

message 180: by Frida (last edited Jul 02, 2013 05:02AM) (new)

Frida I prefer the Infernal Devices a bit more. I think the story and the setting is really interesting. I honestly love all the characters (especially Will <3) and well somehow I just enjoy it more than The Mortal Instrument (which I love too...!)

message 181: by Sabrina (new)

Sabrina (Nana210) | 28 comments Now I prefer Infernal Devices! I really like the storyline, the characters especially William. Don't get me wrong ... I also love TMI but not quite desperate as TID.

message 182: by Lorena (new)

Lorena (lorena_shadowhunter) i like The infernal devices, but The mortal instruments is my all time favourite. i like Wessa, but i adore Clace and Malec and i cannot wait for City of heavenly fire. TMI is probably my favourite series ever.

message 183: by [deleted user] (new)

The Mortal Instruments c:

message 184: by Lalita (new)

Lalita Herondale (Lalita_619) | 7 comments Infernal devices!!! Mainly due to the poignancy of the shadowhunter love triangle. Its so easy to relate to and its got me up all night trying to pick a team. I LOVE YOU WILL!!! (and Jem)

message 185: by Julie (new)

Julie (fictionallove) I love TID. I read TMI first and while I absolute love it and it will be with me always, I feel so much more attached to the characters and scenery of TID. However, I like the plot of TMI better.

message 186: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth | 43 comments I think I was more emotionally attached to the characters of TID, but I like the story line much better in TMI. But it may change depending on COHF

message 187: by Cristina (new)

Cristina | 68 comments It is quite a hard decision to make. I fell in love with shadowhunters when I was first reading TMI. But TID has brought many tears to my eyes while I was reading. Then again, so has TMI. I think I do like TMI better just because it was my first introduction to the shadow world and it will stay with me forever.

message 188: by Lys (new)

Lys | 83 comments Even though TMI was out first I prefer the Infernal Devices. To me TID is better ground story and is a lot more inviting. Then there's Will...

message 189: by Renee (new)

Renee ha ha ha, and Will decides everything for you hmmm?
Just ask Tumblr.... ;)

message 190: by Estefanía ❀ (new)

Estefanía ❀ (estef78) I love both, but I have some special feelings for each saga.
TMI was the first shadowhunter saga I read, and it made me laugh really hard and fell in love with Cassie's books.
But then there's TID, which made me cry AND laugh like crazy, and I love Will so much....and so I did with Jace in it moment.
I like that there is more action in TMI, but I love the love story in TID.
So, yeah, I can't really choose. :)

message 191: by Katie (new)

Katie Hoppa | 12 comments I liked the characters of the infernal devices better than the mortal instruments but I cant say the mortal instruments was bad. That was the book that inspired me to start writing. The TMI were funny but the TID were so happy and heartfelt... Cant choose!!

message 192: by Renee (new)

Renee I love both of them, to be honest there were parts in CoFA where I thought things were dragging or a bit unessecary but that's just because it was no longer a trilogy so she had to change it to a series.
So yay!
And I'm loving both of the series!

message 193: by Silvia (new)

Silvia | 89 comments The Infernal Devices for me. I love TMI and the characters in it but TID made me cry and feel for characters like no other series has. I was sobbing, tears clouding my glasses by the time I finished the epilogue in Clockwork Princess. I think its really special that a book can touch you like that so thats why I say I like TID more. That doesn't mean that I don't love Clary, Jace, and the rest of theTMI characters or that I don't like the story though.

message 194: by Lo (new)

Lo (darkalleycookies) | 9 comments Mine used to be TID, but after CP2...uh...so I guess I have no opinion. Besides, choosing TMI because of Malec and Maia+Jordan might be a little much.

message 195: by Kenni (new)

Kenni This is hard... At first i thought I would say TMI, but now i'm not sure... I think I'd have to go with TID. This is because I love the setting. I've always loved old London, when girls had to wear big fancy dresses. Also, I love Jace to a million pieces, i really do, but there is something about Will and his sacrifice and, i don't know.... his inner torments that feel a little more real. Also I think I understand Tessa more then I understand Clary. Tessa is just someone i can relate to more. I still don't know if I completely agree with my own arguments, because i LOVE both books SO MUCH!!!! But I'm choosing TID for now... I'll let you know if I change my mind.

message 196: by Krissie (last edited Jul 29, 2013 12:12PM) (new)

Krissie (infernal_stars) | 18 comments I would have to say TID because the characters were so much better, IMHO. (Maybe it had to do with it being set in the Victorian era) I read it before TMI, so it took a spot in my heart first. I really enjoyed the author's unique view of love that she incorporated into the story and made such a rare ending out of. Plus, with TID being written after TMI, I think Clare's writing style really improved. Then again, I have completed TID and have only read the first two in TMI, so I don't know the whole story of it yet, but I'm pretty sure my opinion will stay the same.

message 197: by Jess (new)

Jess (Jess-ShadowHunterVamp) | 7 comments Probably the The Mortal Instruments... for now. The third book from Infernal Devices is supposed to come out soon so my opinion might change.

message 198: by Krissie (new)

Jess, if you don't mind me asking, where do you live? Just curious. Clockwork Princess has been out here in the US since March, I believe.

message 199: by Isabelle (new)

Isabelle | 6 comments TID seemed so real and captivating..

message 200: by 411Junkie (new)

411Junkie | 13 comments I agree w/ Isabella. TID really captivated me. It was the reason I took a look at TMI.
