Dee, Thanks for posting! At least this date is before Summer, although imo she shouldn't rush her writing.

message 354: by Lisa (new)

Lisa | 345 comments Feels like f o r e v e r :( But I'm sure it will be worth the long wait. I've got plenty of other books to take my mind off Jamie & Claire *sigh* plus needing to reread the last few of the Outlander series to refresh my memory before 6/10/14.

Oh yay, she's coming to Seattle! I'll try to catch her there.

That Simon the Cat cartoon was cute, Katie. Thanks for sharing it!

Ladyhawk | 957 comments It's hard to look at. Does strange things with my vision... ;0) but still cool.

Interesting revelation.

Lisa | 345 comments Interesting article on Irish DNA, Ladyhawk!

Wow, those eyes! I'm trying to match the eyes to the characters LOL.

message 377: by Ladyhawk (new)

Ladyhawk | 957 comments I thought so too Lisa. Explains my "Celtic" pull with a Spanish heritage.

I don't know who "E" is.. These Twitter tid bits are fun.

message 378: by Carren (new)

Carren Kay | 953 comments The "e" is Murtaugh

message 379: by Dee (last edited Dec 24, 2013 07:11AM) (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 1124 comments it goes Jamie, Claire, Frank, colum, dougal, geillis, BJR, Murtagh, Jenny

I may have switched colum and dougal, but I don't think so

message 380: by Ladyhawk (new)

Ladyhawk | 957 comments Thanks Ladies. Oh and Dee, I just noticed you posted the license plate photo for us! Thank you! I couldn't get a good link I guess!

It cracks me up that any true Outlander fan knows exactly what those letters stand for. But to the unknowing, depraved, haven'tyetdiscoveredoutlander person, it's just an ordinary license plate.

message 381: by Peggyzbooksnmusic (new)

Peggyzbooksnmusic Happy New Year! Hope 2014 is filled with great reads for all :D

message 382: by Lisa (new)

Lisa | 345 comments That's a good one, Peggy! I wish the same to you and everybody also. I've started off 2014 off by finishing Clean Sweep (Innkeeper Chronicles #1) by Ilona Andrews which I really liked. This is the first ever quiet New Years Eve I've ever had. Scott is injured from a ski accident and then he caught Charlie's cold so he was in bed by 9pm!! I stayed up to read Clean Sweep and sip on my Scotch until 1a.m. At least I'm not hungover today :D

Oh no, so sorry to hear about Scott's ski accident! Hope he heals quickly and that he and Charlie get over their colds.

Mike always goes to bed early and then gets up to run in the AM. I was able to stay awake til midnight but just barely! lol!

message 384: by Ladyhawk (new)

Ladyhawk | 957 comments Happy New Year Goodreads Friends! It was pretty quiet on our end too. I usually at least serve some apple cider in toast with my kids but since the youngest was the only one home with us this year, I didn't even do that. The neighbors got a little rowdy with some large fireworks for a spell so that livened things up a bit.

Lisa, sorry to hear about your men! Hope they recover soon!

Peggy, glad you got to enjoy your holidays with your sons even if New Year's Eve was uneventful.

message 385: by Leea, Escape Artist (new)

Leea | 1239 comments Happy New Years Everyone!! Hope all the men folk get better... I can't wait to chat books with everyone in 2014.

message 386: by Lisa (new)

Lisa | 345 comments Thanks everybody :) We were surrounded by people that set off lots of fireworks this new years - we could hear them going off starting around 9 pm (for east coast time, I guess LOL) until well after midnight. I got to hear a couple owls hooting that I think was responding to the fireworks, before it got crazy - around 9pm. From what I figure, they were Great Horned owls (listened to different species hooting online). I love hearing the owls.

Yes, I look forward to all the new reads and discussions . Happy 2014!

message 389: by Slip! (new)

Slip! | 89 comments When you love a series so much you buy a book from the dollar used book rack, knowing full well you have it already but hate seeing it on the shelf all lonely and unloved.

I now have three copies of Outlanders, (cuz if the different covers), and two Dragonfly in Ambers.

...Gotta Catch 'Em All....

I have a paperback copy of DIA in German for much the same reason. I found it at a Book Swap store we had here for a while (leave a book & take a book) I cant speak or read German but I just had to have it. Plus I'm sure it was lonely sitting there surrounded by all those English speaking books :)

message 391: by Lis (new)

Lis | 22 comments It's great that the Starz Outlander received an Emmy nod for Outstanding Costumes and Outstanding Production Design....

BUT... Does anyone else feel like Sam, Cait and Tobias were once again snubbed? Great performances this year from them and several others... It's a shame in my opinion.

message 392: by M. (new)

M. MacKinnon | 121 comments Absolutely! It's so frustrating that this series is largely overlooked. I suppose that as the story proceeds and gains momentum, more people will find and fall in love with it.

message 393: by Vanessa Eden (new)

Vanessa Eden Patton (vanessaeden) | 549 comments I definitely felt like Sam and Cait were snubbed. I am also ticked at STARZ because I have seen them advertise Power on Good Morning America and they never once put that kind of marketing in outlander!

message 394: by Vanessa Eden (new)

Vanessa Eden Patton (vanessaeden) | 549 comments I guess STARZ took a tip from Blanche Dubois and expected Outlander to depend on the kindness of strangers, to get its marketing.

message 395: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 1124 comments Vanessa Eden wrote: "I definitely felt like Sam and Cait were snubbed. I am also ticked at STARZ because I have seen them advertise Power on Good Morning America and they never once put that kind of marketing in outlaner..."

incorrect! Sam and Cait were on GMA in March just prior to season 2 starting

message 396: by Lis (new)

Lis | 22 comments It might be that they are not part of the U.S./Hollywood acting crew and less recognized.... But still, it's a great show and these actors are selling the story...

message 397: by Beth (new)

Beth G | 58 comments Help! My Outlander obsession is seriously interfering with my ability to concentrate at work!

message 398: by Cindi (new)

Cindi (ourtrumpcard) | 17 comments I've been holding off on watching the final epi because I am already stressing about when the series will start up again!

message 399: by M. (new)

M. MacKinnon | 121 comments Oh, don't hold off! You can watch it over and over.
