What Did You Finish Reading/What Are You Currently Reading?
You know...a lot of the people we credit as being brilliant and great writers educated themselves. I would like to drop out of college and educate myself by reading as many books as I can. Who's with me?
haha kelsey..i just said that to my stepdad today after another unsuccessful day trying to find a job! lol
i just finished The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society.i enjoyed it very much.
i'm still working on The Bad Beginning, but it's such an easy read, i think i may start another one.
Allison, I bought the first 4 in the Lemony Snicket series. I can't wait to read them. They'll be a great way to relax and not think so much.
I'm on The Heretic's Daughter right now and it is really good. It's just so interesting... I can't wait to get off work and READ!!!
I started reading The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time on the plane last night, and it's very good so far!
Kelsey... let me know what you think of that book. I've seen it on paperbackswap and have been wondering whether to get it or not.
Kelsey- let me know too! I have to read it for one of my classes this next semester so let me know! I heard it's really good.
I am about to finish Annie Freeman's Fabulous Traveling Funeral by Kris Radish. It was ok. Just a stupid fun read that I didn't really get all that into. Now I am finally going to start The Book Thief!
I just finished reading it (The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time), and it was excellent! I totally would recommend it. It's definitely told from an interesting perspective, and it reminded me a tiny bit of Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close.
I just finished reading "Just Listen" by Sara Dessen. I am now going to read "The Thirteenth Tale" by Diane Setterfield.
I'm also reading The 13th Tale, Ashley. I'm only a couple chapters in, but so far I like it. Let me know what you think as you get into it.
I just finished Sex and the City. It was OK I guess. I think the reason I didn't like it so well is because I've never been to New York nor do I know people like the characters. It's a compilation of the author's articles, but it seemed really disjointed and like the scenes didn't always have an actual ending (but the ended).
I just finished The Heretic's Daughter & it was amazing. I cried like 3 times. It's about a girl during the salem witch trials and I honestly felt like I was there with her the entire time. I felt the same emotions she did. Honestly, it is one of the best books I've ever read. Ever.
I am so glad you liked it Lauren. I really enjoyed it when I read it. I was amazed that an 11 year old was portrayed so wise and it bothered me what fear can do to people. I am also not a history buff; was expecting to like it but not love it! Great surprise.
Oh man! It sounds like I need to get that one now too! What are you people trying to do to me? Haha.
I just finished The Boy in the Striped Pajamas too, which was really good. It's a quick read too. I finished it in like 2 hours.
Kelsey, did you see the show? It was at one of our local theaters a week or so ago, I was debating and probably missed it.
I've decided that I am reading The History of Love or at least give it 50 pages and decide what to do. I'm tired of just reading a few pages of a book and then switching. I need to be persistent.
I finished Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince this morning...so now I'm moving onto HP and the Deathly Hallows :) The sixth book left so much up in the air, I'm dying to find out what's going to happen next!
omg..i just finished The Book Thief..wow.
i just stayed up until 2 am to finish it despite the fact that i am feeling so sick..but i had to..i just had to. i cried...alot. wow.
what to read next after that? gosh. i have no clue.

I am reading The History of Love: A Novel. I really like it. I hope I can finish this weekend and start something else on Sunday (school starts Monday). But I'm not sure yet what that something will be.
Tami: I haven't seen the movie yet. I wanted to read the book first, but I'll probably see the movie now too.Jamie: I cried SO much when I finished it. But it was amazing, was it not?

kelsey..it was INCREDIBLE. I will forever recommend this book to everyone! it was just such a powerful story..with very real characters, real emotions, an unique narrator that was done really well, and i really really liked how he wrote.

I know! I absolutely loved it! You should try reading I Am the Messenger too. It's pretty awesome too, but kind of in a different way. I love Markus Zusak!
i will def have to put that on my tbr list.
just finished Let It Snow: Three Holiday Stories and now staring Uglies.

Lori, I'm still working on the History of Love but I love it. Ha the old guy cracks me up! I really like how the other writes too, because it kind of jumps all over the place kind of like when I try to write. HA
Jamie my favorite part was when he was talking about what he thought a good movie was determined by...a crink in your neck and a fading hard on. I laughed so hard!!!!! Old men are so funny!
Caiti, I love the old man! I kept laughing out loud at the beginning because it was all so funny. And I love the part about the art class. But his parts also make me incredibly sad sometimes. Can't wait to discuss it with you when we finish!
i can't wait until you two are done with it! I want to know what you think..check out our past group reads discussions.i would love to continue discussing it with you girls!
Thanks Jamie. I have about 75 pages left. I don't think I'll finish tonight, but definitely tomorrow.
Right now I'm reading The Blind Assassin by Margaret Atwood and Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell. Jonathan Strange is a HUGE book, but it's been sitting on my shelf for over a year now so I want to get it DONE.
I'm kind of slow with it for some odd reason but I will definitely catch up with the discussions when I'm finally done.
I just started The Book Thief. I'm maybe 1/4 of the way through and I'm caught between thinking it's not super interesting and really wanting to read it because of all the wonderful things I've heard.
that's exactly how i was Justine.
The only thing that kept me going was how everyone said how amazing it was!

Well, I finally did it--I finally finished the HP series. It's kinda sad in a way because I can no longer sit and wonder what's gonna happen next. :/ Oh well, I guess I can sit and wonder what JKR is going to write next--hehe :) To ease myself down off the HP high, I'm gonna read The Tales of Beedle the Bard today. I'm looking forward to it--it looks like a nice quick read :
I totally know what you mean Jess! I had been reading Harry Potter since I was 10, so it was so sad when I finished the last book. I just hope that she comes out with some good stuff in the future!
