Cool! I noticed the "4 Stars" chip falls in line with the FS on all 7 cards. And just because I was curious, I checked all the other categories -- no other shelf sits the same way ("first in series", for example, lines up with the FS on all the cards EXCEPT Team 5's").

Maybe I should do something more useful...like, say, read. :-)

I finished Red Headed Stepchild on 8/2 and give it 5*'s. I loved this book! Thank goodness I have the next two books on hand from the borders sale. Not sure I can wait to see what happens next. I really enjoyed the relationship between Sabina and Adam. I am also very curious about the unknown prophecies.
I loved the action in the book, but also the way Sabina grew through the story and her relationships with her friends.

★★★★ 7/25/11 (sorry to be SOOOO late!)

A were-bear and a dark-hunter...well, guess anyone can fall in love (just curious what happens 10-years-down-the-road!) Dev Peltier falls for an immortal Amazon, who is also one of Artemis' Dark-hunters. A match NOT made in heaven, with numerous pitfalls, potential end-of-the-world schemes, and guest appearances from some characters not seen in quite awhile...rather a fun read, and enjoyed seeing how this HEA came about!

I needed a laugh, and the zombie porcupines certainly did it. Alexia had some fantastic lines, with a very interesting twist at the end. The "infant-inconvenience" was quite entertaining, especially the social contrivances to avoid mentioning "such" subjects.

I cannot think of anything else to say that would not be spoilerish...so really don't peek unless you've read! (view spoiler)[Moments I loved include Floote saving the day as Alexia is about to give birth in the octomaton, the realization that she's given the castle to the vampires, Felicity as tea, and the whole ordeal of "moving" her in the dirigible, across the balcony to Lord Akeldama's, etc. and their "3rd closet" suite...rather ludicrous at times, but the banter just made it fun. Also, can't wait to find out just WHAT Prudence is! (hide spoiler)] I'm really looking forward to Timeless...

Well, I'm working Thurs & Fri, the kids are leaving on Friday for their week in Wisconsin with the in-laws and we're leaving on Saturday for our week in Vegas. I'll be back on the 13th and have to make 79 cheerleader hairbows by the 19th, so that should be fun. Not. It was a last minute volunteering by my stupid self, and once again I'm left wondering what the hell I was thinking. I am waiting on ribbon that won't be here until I'm in Vegas, so I'm going to be in major ribbon mode for that week.

Oh, and the kids go back to school on the 18th, and I still need to go BTS shopping. When the hell am I going to do that? I predict some sleep deprivation in the next 2 weeks. :)

So things will calm down, but not until August 20th. Lol.

Well, I might be a little late getting Hostage to Pleasure read as well. I barely started it (less than 10 pages) and I put it aside to read Storm's Heart.

I'll "restart" Hostage, probably, Friday. Now I can count it toward August challenges -- though the "half-nekkid guy" requirement for the Genre Juice challenge will be easily, er, covered by Tiago. Hmm. I traded one half-nekkid headless guy for another. The kitty and the birdie. ;-)

I have about 40-50 pages left in my book, I'll finish it tonight amongst my packing. :)

And the hotel we're staying at in Vegas charges $15 per day for wifi, so needless to say, I won't be paying for that to be able to use my ipad for internet stuff. So all that leaves me with is my iphone, so I'll have internet access, but the phone isn't too user friendly for playing around online, so don't count on seeing too much of me next week. :)

I like this series, but for whatever reason I've had trouble really getting into the last 2 books. I'm (finally) done with this one. I am undecided whether to keep reading- or leave it. There are too many books that I can't wait to read and don't want to waste my time...but the guilt of leaving behind a series that is good, but doesn't grab me.

finished August 5 ★★★

Short & sweet this week--I have to leave for the airport in 1.5 hours and I'm not done packing. Shocker. :)

There were parts of this story that I loved, and parts that I thought were a bit cheesy. Some of the dialog felt awkward to me, not natural. And I am a sucker for the initial attraction and building of a relationship, that's why I love UF. But in this book, so much of that had already happened "off-screen", so it was hard for me to be gung ho about the romance.

But the series has potential, and I will read the next book. But I'm not chomping at the bit to do it. :)
