Lacy (lacy_stewart) | 1966 comments Maha, here are your picks! I hope that I did a good job!

Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen is one of my favorite reads.
I noticed that you like to read the classics:The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne is a great one.

2. Moon - Read another Agatha Christie book, I noticed that you have read 9 of them so why not make it an even 10! My favorite is And Then There Were None or you could read another from the Hercule Poirot series.

3. Mars -
The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown

4. Mercury -
To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee

5. Jupiter -
The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins - The first book to an awesome trilogy.
The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger

Joyce (eternity21) | 739 comments Hi Daffodil,
I had fun going through your lists. I hope you enjoy your picks. It looks like we have similar tastes.

READ THE (CLASSICAL) PLANETS
1. Sun (star) – Book from their TBR you gave 5 stars or if you haven't read any, one with a high rating
Don of the Dead I really enjoyed this book. It is a very light read.

2. Moon (satellite) – Book from their TBR that’s the next in a series they already started or from an author they already liked and enjoyed.
The Dark and Hollow Places I see that you gave the first two books in this series high ratings. Seems like you are very much like me. You start a lot of different series. LOL

3. Mars (same symbol as male gender) – Book written by a male author or with a strong male character
A Kiss Before the Apocalypse by Thomas Sniegoski. This is a book I've been wanting to read for quite a while now.

4. Mercury (smallest planet) - Short book from their TBR
Silent Blade I found this little nugget in your TBR list and added it to mine. Sometimes you just want a short story to tide you over.

5. Jupiter (outer planet) – Book that’s a bit ‘out there’ either because it has an original premise, a funky title or because it’s something they wouldn’t normally read
Ill Wind This book's premise is different as the heroine can control the weather. I enjoyed the book very much.

6. Venus (hottest planet) – Popular book they haven’t read yet or a steamy book (if they like that sort of thing.)
Slave to Sensation This was a book that was recommended to me in a challenge a few months ago and was really good.

7. Saturn (rings) – Romantic book that made you sigh (and hopefully included a ring.)
Message in a Bottle Nicholas Sparks writes the best contemporary romances. I always cry during the read.

OTHER SOLAR SYSTEM BODIES (BUDDY READS)
8. Asteroid: Book that has been around your TBR for a while that you think you would both enjoy
Ghost Shadow I've had this on my TBR list since it came out just have not read it yet. I love Heather Graham books. Definitely willing to read this with you.

9. Comet: Book from their TBR that caught your eye
Touched by an Alien This looks like an interesting series. I added it to my TBR list right away. I would definitely read this with you.

Jim son of Jim (formerly PhotoJim) (jim_formerly_photojim) | 5294 comments Lady Allison, so sorry I didn't get back to it yesterday. Let's hope that I can find something that you might enjoy. BTW, I was happy to see how well our shelves matched up. 72% is pretty good in my book.

1. Sun (star) – Although I haven't given 5 stars to any of the books in the series (I just don't give five stars) I would give five stars to the whole series if I could. I am talking about the In Death books by J.D. Robb. Read the first one or two and see if you aren't sucked into Eve Dallas's world. I LOVE these books.

2. Moon (satellite) – You read Covet why not follow it up with Crave? Or certainly continue with This Side of the Grave (but only after reading the intervening Night Huntress World books)

3. Mars (same symbol as male gender) – Hounded is the first book in the Iron Druid series. I just read the first book a few weeks ago. I loved it! Full of humor and adventure. Not a romance, but fun none the less.

4. Mercury (smallest planet) - Sh*t My Dad Says is about as short as you can get. It will take you about an hour to go through everything. Pretty funny actually. If you haven't read it, read The Little Prince. This is a beautiful short story.

5. Jupiter (outer planet) – I got two for you. Both are from outside your genre zone. First is A Game of Thrones. Excellently written fantasy that is being made into a series on HBO. Second is Pandora's Star. This is space opera the way it was meant to be.

6. Venus (hottest planet) – you have a lot of borderline erotica but nothing that really goes all out. Why not try Voyeur or something by Opal Carew? These are certainly a bit on the racy side.

7. Saturn (rings) – You seem to read a good selection of Susan Mallery but have not read The Marcelli Bride series. You really should rectify this situation.

OTHER SOLAR SYSTEM BODIES (BUDDY READS)

8. Asteroid: I've been meaning to read The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo for a while now. Since it was recommended to me, I might actually get around to it. If you want to join me, I'll be sure to read it then.

9. Comet: I see you have several Megan Hart books on your TBR. I think I might give another a try. Let's see if we can't pick one together.

Larissa | 138 comments Lacy,

I'm really glad that you enjoyed your picks! And as for the buddy reads, I'm going to be traveling in the last week of July, but as for the rest, I'm avaliable. Just let me know ;)

------------------------------------------------------

Debbie,

I'll probably start reading Perfect Chemistry in the middle of the month, so I'm goin to leave you a message when it happens.
And oh, I already started reading Mine Till Midnight, and as for now, it's really in the beggining, but I'm liking it :D

message 310: by Lili (new)

Lili | 343 comments Hey Niccyy, I must admit getting your list was a bit… not hard but unusual. I always get someone about my age or older and now I got paired with a pretty young lady!.
The whole young-adult genre isn’t my thing, too much drama, but I didn’t want to throw a bunch of XXX-books at you so I tried to put together a list with a wide range to choose from. Hope you find something you like!

READ THE (CLASSICAL) PLANETS
1. Sun (star) –
Graceling by Kristin Cashore. I got this book recommended to me and it is amazing!, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

2. Moon (satellite) – Twice Bitten by Chloe Neill. I see you liked this series, I really enjoyed the first one and have been trying to get back to it… let me know if it gets better.

3. Mars (same symbol as male gender) – Magic Bites by Ilona Andrews. Now this is the perfect example of a strong male character... oh Curran…

4. Mercury (smallest planet) – The Warlord Wants Forever by Kresley Cole… this is the only “short book” you have and I love Cole’s books, if you want to start this series I liked A Hunger Like No Other so much more.

5. Jupiter (outer planet) – One for the Money by Janet Evanovich. If you’re up for a funny, silly book, this is your pick, it’s the first book in the Stephanie Plum’s series… I love her, she’s so dumb and clueless. Great summer read.

6. Venus (hottest planet) – Undead and Unwed by MaryJanice Davidson. A very popular read, especially if you have another challenge and are in need of a U for it… it’s a light read, quite funny and you’ll get to meet Eric Sinclair…yummy!

7. Saturn (rings) – PS, I Love You by Cecelia Ahern. I loved the book but the movie stole my heart… how could it not with Gerard Butler…
*siiiggghssssss*
Now, I understand he’s too oooold for you and your 13 years, so on behalf of our new friendship, I’ll sacrifice… I’ll keep him and we’ll find someone for you..

OTHER SOLAR SYSTEM BODIES (BUDDY READS)
8. Asteroid -
A Walk to Remember by Nicholas Sparks. I have this book lined up for the first week of july, if you’re game we can read it.

9. Comet - Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins. I see you’ve read Hunger games already and liked it too, so we can both go for this one.

Thank you for my list but now I don't know what to pick.
I already have Blaze of Memory so maybe that one... and mostly because I want to get to Kiss of Snow.
Let me see if there's something else I can add to the monthly challenge.

message 312: by Alara (last edited Jun 29, 2011 03:04PM) (new)

Alara (gaelen) Hello Candace! Your TBR is not so big, I hope you'll like my picks for you.

READ THE (CLASSICAL) PLANETS
1. Sun (star) – Book from their TBR you gave 5 stars or if you haven't read any, one with a high rating

Unveiled
or Daughter of the Forest maybe? It's high rated. :)

2. Moon (satellite) – Book from their TBR that’s the next in a series they already started or from an author they already liked and enjoyed.

City of Fallen Angels - I see you have read the first three book. :)
Angels & Demons - This is one of my favourite books, definitely better than The Da Vinci Code.
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

3. Mars (same symbol as male gender) – Book written by a male author or with a strong male character

New Moon - Full of strong males :P and an easy read

4. Mercury (smallest planet) - Short book from their TBR

What Looks Like Crazy

5. Jupiter (outer planet) – Book that’s a bit ‘out there’ either because it has an original premise, a funky title or because it’s something they wouldn’t normally read

The Marsh King's Daughter - We always read romance novels written by Americans, but British ones are way better!

6. Venus (hottest planet) – Popular book they haven’t read yet or a steamy book (if they like that sort of thing.)

The Hunger Games - This is one of the best books I've ever read. You should read it before its movie comes to the theatres next year. :)

7. Saturn (rings) – Romantic book that made you sigh (and hopefully included a ring.)

Private Arrangements

OTHER SOLAR SYSTEM BODIES (BUDDY READS)
8. Asteroid: Book that has been around your TBR for a while that you think you would both enjoy
Just Like Heaven

9. Comet: Book from their TBR that caught your eye
The Spymaster's Lady

I can't do a buddy read though :(

Hi Fran-

I've been reading a lot of contemporaries lately so I am in a mood for a Historical now and I haven't read a Susan Johnson in...well..forever. So I'll do Gorgeous As Sin.

Also I just picked up both of theseHow to Flirt with a Naked Werewolf and Beauty Queens. So I think I'll do both and you can pick the one you want to buddy read. Both of these are new to me authors so that'll be cool.

Thanks so much for the wonderful suggestions, I want to read all of them when I have the time! I will probably start with Thunder and Roses and then read Dead in the Family and then the rest. I will eventually read them all, but I have a lot of other books to read this month. I'm a challenge hog! :)

I've been wanting to read The Iron Duke by Meljean Brook for a long time, but I keep putting it off. Maybe we could do a buddy read with this if you feel like it, then A Secret History of the Pink Carnation if we have time. What do you think?

Candace (candacej73) | 4 comments I'm hoping since this is my first time I did ok. I tried to mix in your tbr books with some you may not know about. If you need me to change any or give extras let me know.

Sun - I haven't read any in your tbr file so this was one of the higher rated ones. Fallen from Grace I also wanted to recommend Guardian Of Honor it is one of my favorites.

Moon - I think I will start this series soon. They sound great! Magic Slays

Mars - I started out having trouble finding anything for this column. Now I can't decide which one so you get 3 options lol. The Lightning Thief is great for some light and yet entertaining reading. The Wedding is a sweet book that made me laugh and cry. I can't find the link but I was going to add one off of your list Play Dead.

Mercury - The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner I haven't read this one yet but a friend of mine said it was good.

Jupiter - Out of Body is from my list but I think you will enjoy it.

Venus - you have lots of steamy options lol. I thought both of these sounded good. Lucifer's Daughter and The Perfect Play

Saturn - Beyond the Highland Mist was an awesome book. It is very romantic although it isn't your typical genre I believe you would enjoy it.

Buddy read

Comet - The Stone Prince

Asteroid - City of Fallen Angels

message 322: by Jane (PS), Moderator (last edited Jul 02, 2011 03:07PM) (new)

Jane (PS) | 24484 comments Suzanne Wow - 4,907 books on your TBR shelf – 244 246 pages! (This jumped by another 37 books as I was picking!!) I was nearly drowning there for a while. :) You also have a really wide range of romance and other genres, so I’m going to give you recs from the genres that I read. (We have a high compatability so hopefully something will suit.)

1. Sun (star)Book from their TBR you gave 5 stars. Well, there are a few options but I’m going to recommend a couple of historical romances for this category: Cotillion by Georgette Heyer or The Lion's Lady by Julie Garwood

2. Moon (satellite)Next in series book from their TBR. Holiday in Death by JD Robb or, I note you have are currently reading Slave to Sensation by Nalini Singh; if you have really enjoyed this book, then the next in the series is Visions of Heat.

3. Mars (same symbol as male gender)Book written by a male author or with a strong male character. Burning Wild by Christine Feehan. This book has a male lead that would have to be close to the Alpha of the Alphas, but he learns and grows throughout the book. Whilst it isn’t the first in the series, I don’t believe in this case you will find it confusing to start at this point. The first book is also on your TBR – Fever, if you are OCD (like me) and this is just a step too far. The males in this book are also very alpha.

4. Mercury (smallest planet) - Short book from their TBR LOL – it doesn’t get much shorter than this – 25 pages: Snaring The Huntress by Sylvia Day. (I also have this on my TBR shelf!) Or you could try out Roane by Marie Harte – 160 pages – there are a few names in this novella that will help in the Name Game Tournament as well (if you haven’t already marked them off).

5. Jupiter (outer planet)Book that’s a bit ‘out there’ Nicholas by Elizabeth Amber. I haven’t read this author but I hear that this series is a ‘bit out there’. I’ll be interested to know what you think if you choose this, as I have also been pondering whether to ‘go there’. Another option is The Complete Tales & Poems of Winnie-the-Pooh by AA Milne – I LOVE Winnie-The-Pooh – always have and always will!

6. Venus (hottest planet)Popular / steamy book. Full Exposure by Evangeline Anderson. All the descriptions from the reviews say Hot Hot Hot!! Or, as a popular choice, Darkfever by Karen Marie Moning – a great urban fantasy that I loved.

7. Saturn (rings)Sigh-worthy book – hopefully ring-included Games of Command by Linnea Sinclair. OK – I am sure there isn’t any matrimonial rings involved but it’s a fun story set in outer-space, with a hesitant alpha hero, feisty heroine, some cute pets, plenty of action, conspiracy and a secondary romance thrown in for free.

OTHER SOLAR SYSTEM BODIES (BUDDY READS)
8. Asteroid - Book that has been around your TBR for a while that you think you would both enjoy. Jacob by Jacqueline Frank or Full Moon Rising by Keri Arthur

9. Comet - Book from their TBR that caught your eye. There were heaps of books that caught my eye – I had trouble getting beyond your ‘A’ letter authors! But eventually I had to get serious (so that you received your picks before 2 July…) So, how about Demon Angel by Meljean Brook : I've just read the Iron Duke and would like to try MB again. Hey you’ve just added The McKettrick Way Silhouette Special Edition Series #1867 - we could both knock off the Featured Author of the Month – Linda Lael Miller

Layla , I had a party making your list, so I hope you find something that fits you!

1.Sun (star) – Loved this series! Action packed with a nice amount of romance. The Hunger Games

2. Moon (satellite) – You seem to enjoy Nora Roberts, and I’m a sucker for mysteries. Both of these series sounds rather appealing. Immortal in Death Deadly Heat

3. Mars (same symbol as male gender) – I’ve come to realize that the books I’ve read with male leads or written by male authors are sparse (I’m so planning to fix that x__x), so I had fun treasure hunting for something juicy. I haven’t started this book yet, but I’ve heard good things about it. Nightlife

4. Mercury (smallest planet) –This was the shortest book I could find on your TBR; I’m jacking this too, as I mentioned I’m highly in need for more male leads.
Hounded

5. Jupiter (outer planet) - This sounds so intriguing and yet unusual compared to the typical portrayal of the star crossed lovers. Another book I’ll be adding to my list of reads. Juliet Immortal

6. Venus (hottest planet) – Hot paranormal reads :] Succubus Blues or Demon Possession

7. Saturn (rings) – Romantic book that made you sigh (and hopefully included a ring.) I love this book, it was both funny and heart tugging. Aint She Sweet

OTHER SOLAR SYSTEM BODIES (BUDDY READS)
8. Asteroid: Mind Games

9. Comet: First Drop of Crimson

The Hunger Games (The Hunger Games, #1) by Suzanne Collins Immortal in Death (In Death, #3) by J.D. Robb Deadly Heat (Deadly, #2) by Cynthia Eden Nightlife (Cal Leandros, #1) by Rob Thurman Hounded (Iron Druid Chronicles, #1) by Kevin Hearne Juliet Immortal by Stacey Jay Succubus Blues (Georgina Kincaid, #1) by Richelle Mead Demon Possession (Shadow Quest, #1) by Kiersten Fay Aint She Sweet by Susan Elizabeth Phillips Mind Games (The Disillusionists Trilogy, #1) by Carolyn Crane : First Drop of Crimson (Night Huntress World, #1) by Jeaniene Frost

Sorry, it’s a bit light on the commentary that’s usually a requirement when I’m chattering about books. I’m a little sick today so consider yourself lucky; with all my babbling I could have made a novel just explaining your picks! …although it would have been littered in poor grammar and fangirling.

Anyway,I hope you enjoy at least one of my picks. I know you’ve help expand my own rec, so Happy reading ^___^!

Autumn (sweetdenial) | 1471 comments Hello Joyce !!! You are now my GR Buffy!! I have never, ever seen so many vampires books in a single TBR.. Which led me to a dilemma of what to pick for you (my PNR shelves are nil compared to yours) but i did my best trying to find good picks for you. I hope you enjoy my pics :)

READ THE (CLASSICAL) PLANETS
1. Sun (star)

-One Foot in the Grave: I see that you are currently reading the first installment. (I dont know how you are liking it so far, but i loved the following book even more. ;)

-Poison Studyand The Hunger Games are both YA adult books that envelop a pretty intricate story line. (which i must say captivated my attention.

One Foot in the Grave (Night Huntress, #2) by Jeaniene Frost Poison Study (Study, #1) by Maria V. Snyder The Hunger Games (The Hunger Games, #1) by Suzanne Collins

2. Moon (satellite):

you seem to like the Undead series a lot, and DBD along with Fever series are pretty much classics of PNR lovers.
- Undead and Unreturnable (Undead #4) by MaryJanice Davidson Lover Eternal (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #2) by J.R. Ward Bloodfever (Fever, #2) by Karen Marie Moning

3. Mars

-The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo i think this will be one book that you would enjoy, because the mystery plot is rather unusual.

-A Dirty Joband The Graveyard Book I love both this authors to bits! Moore`s book is in the verge of gore humor, while Gaiman keeps his epic enigma factor in this book.

- Ghost Story: I really think this book is noteworthy. The premise is very interesting (sthephen king horror like), not to mention it takes place in NY! since we are both locals i think it gives it more appeal.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (Millennium, #1) by Stieg Larsson A Dirty Job by Christopher Moore The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman Ghost Story by Peter Straub

4. Mercury :

Counterfeit Magic by Kelley Armstrong Dragon's Oath (House of Night Novellas, #1) by P.C. Cast Magic Bites (Kate Daniels, #1) by Ilona Andrews

5. Jupiter

Feed: I have read great reviews about this book. it seems the plot steps up a notch from the regular paranormal plot line.

Happy Hour at Casa Dracula: this a vampire spin-off.I have to say that i really enjoyed Acosta`s approach to the story.

The Iron Duke: Steam punk is still is a fairly newer sub-genre of PNR. I have always wondered about the plot of the story.. it sounds interesting.

Feed (Newsflesh, #1) by Mira Grant Happy Hour at Casa Dracula (Casa Dracula #1) by Marta Acosta The Iron Duke (Iron Seas, #1) by Meljean Brook

6. Venus

This are all series that i have in my TBR because so many friends have recommended them to me.They are very popular and ofc.. steamy factor is off the charts with this!.. :)

Hi Amanda,
I would be glad to do buddy reads of both The Iron Duke and a History of the Pink Carnation. I have been meaning to read them both for a while now. Is it okay if we start this week sometime? Or maybe the beginning of next week? I need to harness my enthusiasm for the beginning of the month challenges.

Ashley♥Alexis | 309 comments Kami, I just put City of Bones on hold as well. And my library doesn't have Aequana: A Fantasy Romance Novel either but it is something i'd like to pick up eventually.

Isabella Queirouz | 201 comments Leslie, I hope you like what I picked for you.

1. Sun: Unfortunately you don't have on your TBR something I did read and rate 5 stars so here's 2 options:
Lover Mine Black Dagger Brotherhood 8 by J.R Ward.
or Conspiracy In Death (In Death, #8)

2. Moon: From your TBR I've got also 2 options:
Savage Nature Leopard People 5 By Feehan Christine
or Tamed By A Highlander Children Of The Mist 3 by Quinn Paula

3. Mars:
You read only one book for Ken Follet ( 4 stars), I like this author why don't give him a second chance in
Fall Of Giants

4. Mercury:
The smallest as I searched one by one :) is Bridal Jitters harmony 0 with only 96 p.
Also another one caught my eyes The Princess Diaries the Princess Diaries 1 283p. 5. Jupiter: From your TBR: book: Timeline by Michael Crichton
or something you wouldn't normally read The Razor's Edge by W.Somerset Maugham.

6. Venus
The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. I can't believe this one escaped you I think it's practically the only one I read and you didn't :)

7. Saturn:
Perfect Chemistry by Simone Elkeles
or Remember Me by Sophie KinsellaThis one contains a ring :)

Jane (PS) | 24484 comments Lisa - Oh I'm having so much trouble choosing from your list!

So, still unable to make a final choice, I'm going to choose either Desire Unchained or The Bride or How to Flirt with a Naked Werewolf - fortunately they all fit the Red, White or Blue cover category in the monthly challenge. :)

If you would like to do the buddy read, I'll definitely go with How to Flirt with a Naked Werewolf, otherwise I'll choose as my mood dictates and let you know how I went.

1. Sun (star) – Flat-Out Sexy - if I had to pick one book out of all these here for you to read this month, it would be this one.

2. Moon (satellite) – Mine Till Midnight

3. Mars (same symbol as male gender) – You have lots of books on your TBR that are written by men, but most of those don't really fall into the romance category, so I opted for Dangerous Games, it’s about SEALS, has to be strong male characters in there, right?

4. Mercury (smallest planet) - Heaven Can't Wait - short and the series looks pretty hawt

5. Jupiter (outer planet) – Don't Panic: The Official Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy Companion - ok, not a romance and maybe not readable, but it's been established that you like Gaiman and Adams...and it's quirky, so...

6. Venus (hottest planet) – Bound to Please - hawt, perhaps even poisonously hawt

7. Saturn (rings) – Okay, so I don’t really read romantic books that make me sigh, so despite the fact that I’ve bombed before in recommending Donna Kauffman, I’m gonna go with Here Comes Trouble, which despite having a bit of a mystery…I thoroughly enjoyed and was pretty much as sigh-worthy as I get. Can’t actually remember if there’s a ring, but maybe.

OTHER SOLAR SYSTEM BODIES (BUDDY READS)
8. Asteroid: Book that has been around your TBR for a while that you think you would both enjoy Trial by Fire

9. Comet: Book from their TBR that caught your eye
Simply Irresistible because it's on both our TBR's and it's been being read by lots of my friends...and we have so few books that intersect on our TBRs

Alright ~Sara~, so picking twice for you in 6 months, hopefully there's something here that interests you.

What a fun theme for this month! I enjoyed looking through your shelves for my picks. Happy reading!

1. Sun - It was hard to narrow my choice for this one. I love Lisa Kleypas and you have a few of her books on your TBR that I rated highly. I would start off with Mine Till Midnight, but all the books in the Hathaway Series are great. (I just like starting at the beginning of a series.)

2. Moon - I see that you gave a 5-star rating for Outlander but don't have the next book in the series on your TBR. Though nothing compares to Outlander in my opinion, Dragonfly in Amber is pretty good reading.

3. Mars - Nevermore by Keith R.A. DeCandido. Looks interesting!

4. Mercury - I thought Kresley Cole's historical trilogy was great. Haven't read The Warlord Wants Forever, but hopefully it's great too.

5. Jupiter - Not on your TBR, but I highly recommend The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie by Jennifer Ashley. It's a historical romance about a man who has Asperger's Syndrome. Definitely an original piece of work!

6. Venus - Sometimes best-sellers can be over-rated, but I found The Da Vinci Code to be fast paced and interesting.

7. Saturn - A Kingdom of Dreams is my go-to, all-time favorite fairy tale romance. All I can say is READ THIS BOOK!

8. Asteroid - There are a couple of books on our mutual lists that I'd love to buddy read with you. I'm starting on Kiss of the Highlander in audio this week. I would also be willing to read The Duke And I, The Time Traveler's Wife, or The Bronze Horseman. All of these books seem highly recommended. Just let me know...

9. Comet - The cover of The Iron King caught my attention. I love a good cover!

Mine Till Midnight (The Hathaways, #1) by Lisa Kleypas Dragonfly in Amber (Outlander, #2) by Diana Gabaldon Nevermore (Supernatural, #1) by Keith R.A. DeCandido The Warlord Wants Forever (Immortals After Dark, #1) by Kresley Cole The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie (Highland Pleasures, #1) by Jennifer Ashley The Da Vinci Code (Robert Langdon, #2) by Dan Brown A Kingdom of Dreams (Westmoreland, #1) by Judith McNaught Kiss of the Highlander (Highlander, #4) by Karen Marie Moning The Duke And I (Bridgertons, #1) by Julia Quinn The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger The Bronze Horseman (Tatiana and Alexander, #1) by Paullina Simons The Iron King (Iron Fey, #1) by Julie Kagawa

message 340: by Freya (new)

Freya (freya3377) Hi Becky

I've been reading for years but I'm new to GoodReads and don't have a lot of books listed. That meant only 47 books in common. :P I've tried to pick from the common ones and where not possible, I've picked from your TBR. Let me know if these don't suit you and I'll pick again.

1. Sun (star) – I would have recommended Mockingjay but thats for the series ;) so I'll pick The Summer I Turned Pretty by Jenny Han. The rating is high, blurb sounds interesting and reviews seemed good too. I'm going to look out for it too!

2. Moon (satellite)Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins. This was easy :) One series I throughly enjoyed was Mockinjay. I hated the time inbetween the books while I waited :D

3. Mars (same symbol as male gender) The Last Lecture by Randy Pausch, its not romance but the book moved me and made me appreciate life so much more.

4. Mercury (smallest planet) - The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho I chose this because it seemed the shortest (I had selected The Last Lecture already) but also because its my favourite of Coelho's works.

5. Jupiter (outer planet) – This one is the toughest. There are just so many books I haven't read! I have two recommendations here both unusual titles to me.
Lions and Lace by Meagan McKinney - I just couldn't stop imagining a lion playing with a ball of lace... That would be a sight.
Ten Ways to Be Adored When Landing a Lord by Sarah MacLean - The rhyme in the title is catchy...

6. Venus (hottest planet) – Actually even this category was tough. I selected Night Pleasures by Kenyon, Sherrilyn. Its been recommended to me in previous PIFM's and this time too! :)

7. Saturn (rings) – Found Nora Roberts Key Trilogy on your TBR. This is the romance I read in my first PIFM. Its a good series - Key of Light by Nora Roberts | has rings and keys :D

8. Asteroid: Mr. Perfect by Linda Howard has been around for a while on my list. Let me know if you'd like to read it.

9. Comet: The Peach Keeper by Sarah Addison Allen. I like the cover and even have it on my Kindle. Let me know if you like to read it together.

Choosing books is the toughest part of a PIFM for me. I'm quite new to Romance :D have read only classics growing up and I'm just starting out in this vast genre. Let me know if my choices don't work for you; will repick :)

Thanks for the picks! There are some good ones on the list, so it was hard to decide on what to read. I'm going to hit the classics and choose Gone With the Wind first.

I'd also like to eventually read Memoirs of a Geisha with you. I think I'll be able to get to that mid-July. Will let you know when I'm close to starting so we can coordinate.

Thanks again, and hope you are enjoying the summer!
