The first book in the Rough Riders is def. the weakest. I didn't mind all the sexing because that was what I was expecting but after reading the next books I know the author can do better.

Oh and I finished one of Dee's recs: Don't Look Back. I had some issues with the plot but I liked it enough that I'll def. continue reading the series. Thanks for the rec! I haven't been reading many mysteries lately and i've been missing the genre.
ok..finally got my second choice
. Starting it today and hopefully finishing before the end of the month!

Julie, I was lucky enough to be able to attend a preview screening of this movie & it was powerful. Seriously. The theater was 95% women, but it was fun because we all laughed together, gasped in horror together, & cried together. It was wonderful. There were some things that were actually even more fun on screen because it was visual! Think toilets on the lawn & shitty pie ;)
Lady Allison St Vincent,Thank you for the good review for The Help. Now I'm really excited about seeing it. I can't wait to see the scenes that involve "the pie". Best part of the book! Who hasn't thought of someone they would love to give that pie to? Gross......but so childishly pleasing.
Wow Julie, I'm amazed that you've finished 5 picks! I feel like a slacker having only finished my 2 buddy reads. All of the books you picked are among my favorites (except for our buddy read, which I hadn't read before), so I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed them too!Julie wrote: "KarenH,

Precisely! You'll have to let me know what you think when you go :)
I finished my buddy read, How to Flirt with a Naked WerewolfI love Molly Harper's books but this was one of my favorites. I actually downloaded the 2nd book in the series and finished it in the same day!
Hi Penney, I finished Magic Bites this morning and I gave it 3 stars. I thought it was okay for a first book in a series, I am hopeful though that it will get better. I do like Kate, I think she is a good heroine.
Pollyanna wrote: "Hi Penney, I finished Magic Bites this morning and I gave it 3 stars. I thought it was okay for a first book in a series, I am hopeful though that it will get better. And, of course, there's only the slightest hint of a romance, but that's UF for ya. I promise the series gets better and better with each book :-)
I finished How to Flirt with a Naked Werewolf in the 12 billion person buddy read. :-) It was a super fun little book. Thanks for the rec, Jane(PS)!
I finished City of Bones, my buddy read with Ashley Alexis. I liked it. It reminded me very much of Harry Potter and of Star Wars, in that it was a bit derivative at times, but I still enjoyed it. Four stars.
Mandy wrote: 'I finished How to Flirt with a Naked Werewolf in the 12 billion person buddy read. :-) It was a super fun little book. Thanks for the rec, Jane(PS)!...'Yes - fun light read! Thanks for joining us Mandy - and thanks to Lisa for picking it for me to read as a buddy read! :)

~SARA~ I just finished reading Naked in Death, I quite enjoyed it once I got my head around it being set in the future! I really don't always do well with futuristic & Spacey things! Thanks for the rec:-) x x
Hi Amanda!Just an update, I'm halfway through The Princess Bride and really enjoying it! Once done I'll start on The Hunger Games. I'm not sure if I'll get that one done by month end, but it's next in line.
Kim
Hi Renee!I finished Timeless yesterday and loved it! I orginally thought I could get to Gone with the Wind and Memoirs of a Geisha but things got busy this month.
So glad you suggested Timeless though. It probably wouldn't be high in my Adult romance list, but as a Young Adult romance it is just great. I loved the historical detail and the basis for the story. It ends on a cliffhanger so I'm a little on edge until the next book is published in 2012 but I am glad I picked this up. I hope you can read it sometime!
I just finished Sweet Surrender, and liked it a lot! Thanks for the recommendation, Vi - I've had the book for a while and just needed that little push to get to it. Now I can't wait to get on with the series! ;)
AlbertaJenn - if you liked LHR then yu'll love the rest - for me, that and the second one are the two weakest in the series - book 3, 5 and 7 are my favorites (I think i got the numbers right) - cowgirl up and ride; rough, raw and ready and shoulda been a cowboy
AlbertaJenn- I totally Agree with Dee. I LOVE LOVE LOVE That entire series. The second one is the slowest but once you get past that one, they are AMAZING! It's confusing at first because there are SO MANY McKays but it makes me wish I lived in that town!
Hi
Livy
!This month has been very busy for me. I've read The Hunger Games and its sequel,Catching Fire. I must say, I fell in love with the series and I'm planning to read the 3rd book,Mockingjay.
Unfortunately, I didn't manage to find Demon Possession, which annoys me to no end :(
All in all, thanks for the rec!
if you go to LJ's website, there was at one time the mckay family tree to help you keep all the people straightBrenda wrote: "AlbertaJenn- I totally Agree with Dee. I almost forgot to post this!I finished a buddy read with Joyce:
Ghost Shadow, Heather Graham, 7-15-11Joyce recommended Slave to Sensation, instead I read:
Kiss of Snow, Nalini Singh, 7-6-11#10 in the same series
Hi ~Sara~I tried reading the hitchikers guide and haven't really been in the right frame of mind for it, so'm gonna put it down and pick it back up at a later date! Thank you so much for the recs you picked for me ALL have been added to my TBR x x

Hi Alexis, thank you for the wonderful recs, I've just finished
Annie's Song, and really loved it,it was just as sweet as you said and kept me reading well into the night. Thank you!
Sorry for the delay in updating my books to the list. Been a bit under the weather last week.I've finished two books and both were buddy reads :) -
Lessons in French by Laura Kinsale with Melanie
5 stars
I enjoyed this book. A romance about two adventurous souls; it was like William Brown (by Richmal Crompton) growing up into romance.
Pranks and humour abound in the book and you can't help but be carried away in the story and wonder what Callie and Tre will do next!
The Peach Keeper by Sarah Addison Allen with Becky
3 stars
It is a bit of a slow book. I was a bit lost at the start and almost upto 40% of the book.
Its a nice book about friendship and does have some messages to give. Though I did feel something was lacking, there wasn't enough 'magic' book in the book I guess or I had my expectations from the book wrong.
Nakia: I finished
it was my first historical erotica.I have to admit that I really enjoyed it. Thank you so much for giving me the push to try something new.I'm sure I wouldn't have chosen iton my own :)
I have finally finished The Warlord wants forever, I enjoyed it thanks Amanda! I will definitely read the next book in the series.
I finished Catching Fire, and I totally forgot to post here about it :)I loved it! I can't wait to read Mockingjay! I can't believe I waited so long to pick it up after reading The Hunger Games.
I didn't get a chance to read Industrial Magic this month but I hope to get to it in the next few weeks.
I'm cutting it close here but I finished City of Bones and i gave it 3 stars. I like the concept but the book didnt wow me so I'm going to reserve judgement and read the second book in the series.
Hi Autumn,I finished two of my picks and loved them both
I give 5 starts to Garden Spells and A Dirty Job. I loved them both and will be looking forward to reading these authors again.
@ Joyce - have you read any other Christopher Moore - I listened to Dirty Job and have to say compared to the other ones he has out, I felt it was lacking something - it was good, but not brillent - if you want something else, I highly recommend Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal or Fluke: Or, I Know Why the Winged Whale Sings

:D!! SOoo glad you liked them Joyce!!
I started to read 2 books Tina suggested me. Spirit Bound by Richelle Mead and A Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger. I finished Spirit Bound and gave 5/5 stars. I read half of CITR but I got boted.I'm glad I read Spirit Bound ^^
A bit late with my last book for July but just finished
Slave to Sensation
5 stars (This was a buddy read)
I have been putting of Nalini Singh for a while. Slave to Sensation kept coming up month on month but there was always something more compelling. Now I wish I hadn't wait this long :)
I enjoyed the book, and can't wait to read the next; I'm compelled :D
Freya - I just read #10 book in the Psy-Changeling series and it was AMAZING. So you have a really good series to look forward to.
