:o)

I read your review and I remember seeing on M.'s blog that he wrote about that question you have :) Here is a link:

The other books I read of his are The Muse of Edouard Manet and Felinian. Feel free to read my reviews! :) I really loved them both!

Gary R | 117 comments Read Port Mortuary this past summer. It was on par with the more recent books written by Patricia Cornwell but not as good in my opinion as her older books.

Renee (pontiacgal501) | 70 comments Just finished Halfway To The Grave by Jeaniene Frost and it was very good. I stayed up to 2:00am finishing it. I'm getting ready to start Curel Sacrifice by Aphrodite Jones. This has been on my TBR pile for way to long. For one of my New Year's resolution I'm going to try and get some of my older books off of my mountainous TBR pile.

I agree with you that the later books just arent as good. It seems as though she is just churning them out for xmas sales but i still love them and think she is a great writer.

LilaBird | 11 comments Giving An Echo in the Bone another shot. Keep putting it down because of all the William/Civil War stuff.......much dryer than the Jamie/Claire stuff. If I can just get through this section....

I read this one earlier this year. This was my second attempt and I have to admit that the first time it was my own fault for not finishing it. I wasn't in the mood to read but a co-worker had loaned me the book and I tried to force myself to read it. I ended up returning the book but he insisted I keep it and read it when it was the right time. I'm so glad he did. Two years later I really enjoyed this book.

message 26165: by tiasreads (new)

tiasreads I'm reading A Monstrous Regiment of Women. The Mary Russell series is fun, but I'm having trouble getting through this one. I think I've just been reading a little too much lately and it's me, not the book.

message 26166: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer (jhaltenburger) Just finished Swan Peak Swan Peak (Dave Robicheaux, #17) by James Lee Burke . Good book but a weirdness-- in every single other book with this protagonist he's mentioned his family-- his first wife, his second wife, and his daughter all figure prominently, if only in memory in some cases. He doesn't mention them at all, not even once, in this book. Now-- I'm about five books behind in this series (and this is the sixth book I was behind so yeah, I read it way out of order) but I'm now dying to get caught up to see what could so completely have changed!

Barbara (annb106) | 4 comments The White Gorilla and the Three Chimpanzees...a Day from the Zoo by Saragine Francois

I just finished this book.
I will first like to give a review by my ten year old grand daughter followed by mine.
Danielle: I liked the book and it was filled with learning lesons on how people are afraid of animals and the animals have the same sense of fear towards them. The Gorilla had a magical cane that could be used against humans if they posed a threat. They enjoyed going to the party and to a festival and they played many games with the children and the parents because the people thought that they were dressed up in costumes. Based on my reading, at one to ten I give the book a seven or an eight.

Barbara: I thought that the book was great. The thought of seeing a gorilla driving a car and the many games that they played with the parents and children was interesting. The cane could only be used towards humans only if the humans was a threat towards them, that is why they were taken back to the zoo. Truly a great read.

Emma | 100 comments Just began The Winter Rose The Winter Rose (The Tea Rose, #2) by Jennifer Donnelly . The second in a series, it picks up almost right where the Tea Rose left off. It is a monster of a book though, so will probably be my last of the year since the holidays find me baking more than reading. Hoping to squeeze in a little holiday book at some point, too, but I am not holding my breath :)

Now I am moving onto a more fun read for me with Infinite Crisis: The Novel. Welp, decided to change my mind. I am not reading the Infinite Crisis book I am actually reading Tales of the City

Ami E. Bowen (skayda) | 26 comments I'm on the second book in Lili St. Crow's Strange Angels (Strange Angels, #1) by Lili St. Crow series; Betrayals (Strange Angels, #2) by Lili St. Crow . Its good but not as good as Richelle Mead's Vampire Academy (Vampire Academy, #1) by Richelle Mead in my opinion but I do have three and a half more books to go. Perhaps I should hold off on making a decision on which series I like better until after I've finished all the books.

Maria (minks05) | 481 comments It's been ages since I've checked this thread!

I am currently reading Napoleon's Pyramids from William Dietrich. I am about 3 chapters in right now, and so far I'm enjoying it. This is my first attempt at reading an ebook, my hubby got me an iPad for Christmas, so I'm testing the waters here. I didn't have a great reading year in 2011, a lot of the books I read we're duds, so I'm hoping 2012 will be better when incomes to my reading choices.

Happy Holidays everyone!

Hey guys... I just finished reading Baby Geisha, which releases through Two Dollar Radio in January...

and started Panic Attack, USA a few hours ago. I am in love with this book. The poems are outrageous and snarky and the writing comes together so perfectly at times. This is my first go at reviewing Yes Yes Books Publishing, and it's definitely a winner!

By the way.. as you read really great books, feel free to give them a shout out on Twitter using the #nextbestbook hashtag. I'm trying to extend our TNBBC-ness out into the world.. and what better way to do so than by sharing our love of really great books?
