Ami E. Bowen (skayda) | 26 comments I am just starting Bloodlines (Bloodlines, #1) by Richelle Mead . After which I will be reading both Crossed (Matched, #2) by Ally Condie and Prized (Birthmarked, #2) by Caragh M. O'Brien . And then, in a few weeks when Clockwork Prince (The Infernal Devices, #2) by Cassandra Clare comes out I will be reading Clockwork Angel (The Infernal Devices #1) by Cassandra Clare first so that I can read them both together without having to wait. ^_^

Vicky | 1 comments I'm reading Gregor the Overlander series. I really enjoyed the Hunger Games triolgy, and wanted to get a feel for Suzanne Collins as an author. The series is meant for younge adults, but it's written so well, that adults can enjoy the books too.

Your comment about animal abuse is one I agree with completely. If I had known what the book was about in parts I'm not so sure I would have read it. I still enjoyed the writing but some parts did make me cringe. Animal and human abuse are not things I would deliberately chose to read about but that part wasn't apparent until I had started to read the book.

Trina, how is 11/22/63 going? I've been curious about it.

I just finished Twenty Wishes. It was a good, light read. I've now read every single book in my physical TBR stack. Sounds like a trip to the library to me!

I'm a decent chunk of the way into Beatitude by Larry Closs. It focuses heavily on these two guys who are obsessed with the beat generation... and Jack K.

Despite the fact that I've never read the beats... I am quite enjoying this novel!

What did you think of The Book Thief? I finished it last month and then am now reading The Annotated Peter Pan (The Centennial Edition). It's interesting to see where Brom looked for his inspiration and how he retold the classic story.

I loved The Book Thief. It's not forgettable. I'm reading the other books, but somehow this book popping up in my mind and memory again and again.

message 26095: by Rayna (new)

Rayna (Poindextrix) (poindextrix) | 73 comments Krista- I read The Time Traveler's Wife not too long ago and enjoyed it. I'd also heard good things about Her Fearful Symmetry (without really knowing what it was about), but I didn't realize that it was by the same author until I happened upon it at the library and decided to check it out.
I'm really enjoying it and the characters/plot definitely keep me interested.

message 26096: by Beth (new)

Beth I just finished Cutting for Stone, which was a phenomenal read, even though it's not a mystery, but a family saga. The author is a doctor, so there are a lot of medical situations in the book, and the India/Ethiopia/US settings are very interesting. I learned a lot!

I've started reading an old favorite, Murder on the Orient Express. Since I'm writing a variant of a locked-room mystery (a group of whitewater rafters stuck in a remote river canyon with a killer, in my case), I thought I'd return to this locked-room mystery written by a master, for inspiration.
