I recently joined Goodreads. Looking forward to being part of this group and checking out what others have read and enjoyed. I love to read and there is nothing I won't attempt to read. I just finished reading The Gaia Wars by Kenneth G. Bennett. Read it in one sitting as I couldn't put it down. If you want to read my review: http://jobryantnz.wordpress.com/2011/...

Jeane- I'm just starting this as well. :) Hope you enjoy it, we'll have to chat ..."
I am really enjoying it and it is very well written.
Krista - do you mean The Child Thief? I read it a few months ago and thought it was great. I'm looking forward to reading the original Peter Pan - let me know what you think.
I am reading Pure and Eon: Dragoneye Reborn and they're both great! Pure is just a very dark and gritty dystopia scenario. It feels more real than other dystopian books because it's based on a world altered by an atomic bomb. Eon is also very interesting. I love anything based on dragons. Plus it has a very Tamora Pierce vibe to it. Anyone read it? I know the sequel is already out.
Seabiscuit is written in such a way that it feels like I am part of the story and I can feel the emotions going on.
Jeane wrote: "Seabiscuit is written in such a way that it feels like I am part of the story and I can feel the emotions going on."Are you referring to Seabiscuit: An American Legend? I hope so, I've got that one on my TBR shelf.
Think wrote: "Reading The Book by M. Clifford. Extremely interesting so far."Hi Think! I'd be really interested to hear what you think of The Book, once you've finished! I've read two of M. Clifford's other books and really, thoroughly enjoyed them. I've been wondering if I should give The Book a try. :)

Yes I do. I have just finished it and really enjoyed it!
Just finished Will You Love Me Tomorrow? By Claudia Carroll and I'm starting Bridesmaids By Jane Costello
Jane wrote: "Krista - do you mean The Child Thief? I read it a few months ago and thought it was great. I'm looking forward to reading the original Peter Pan - let me know what you think."Oh, my bad! I'm all confused.
Okay, I have read The Book Thief and loved it and do find myself thinking about it often. In my post, however, I meant The Child Thief. That is the one I recently finished and have found myself also randomly thinking about.
I am greatly enjoying The Annotated Peter Pan (The Centennial Edition). Learning Barrie's history and Pan's back story and comparing it with Brom's interpretation of The Child Thief has been interesting.
I also just DVRed Neverland on the SciFi channel and look forward to watching that as well. If I understand correctly, it's what happens before Pan makes it to Neverland.
While I'm on the Pan flight, I think I may also rent Finding Neverland. I've seen it before, but think it would take on a whole new meaning now that I know more about Barrie.
Okay, I think I'm all updated now and corrected with the two similar book titles. :o) Thanks for catching the mix up, Jane!
Krista - Thanks for all your information. I was so fascinated by Brom's Child Thief I was going to read the James Barrie version and got off subject. You've re-fired my interest. I have DVR'd Neverland also but haven't gotten to it yet.And I loved The Book Thief it's in my top 20 list of all time!

Oh, good. Thanks for answering.
I just finished Coming Of Age In Mississippi by Anne Moody. This was a interesting read about a girl coming of age during the Civil Rights movement of the 1950's and 1960's. Starting to read Halfway To The Grave by Jeaninne Frost (Misspelled authors name, don't have book in front of me.)
I just finished up
and am now reading
. After which I will pop open my Kindle reader app to read
because I can't find an ePub version of it I can get without having to use a credit card. It is a free ebook. I was able to get a Kindle formatted copy without the use of a credit card so when the time arrives to start reading it I will just have to download and install the Kindle for Android app onto my Tablet and read it with that instead of my standby reading app of Aldiko. Wow, sorry for the rambling. So to reiterate; I'm currently reading
by Caragh M. O'Brien. Happy reading, y'all.

I just finished Seabiscuit: An American Legend and it was really good. :) Now I'm starting The Redbreast, the first English book in the Harry Hole series... hope it's good! Anyone started this series yet? His name kills me, but I'm hearing good things. :D

I really enjoyed The Book. You can read my review if you want. It's not much, but it's what I thought. LoL What other books have you read of M. Clifford that are good? If you don't mind me asking...
Claire wrote: "I just finished Mudbound and am starting The Woman in Black."How did you like Mudbound? I was just reading some reviews on it this morning.
Just finished The Woman that Shot Mussolini. Interesting bit about a part of history I didn't even have a clue about.

I really liked it but found the subject matter depressing. I thought it was very well written and kept me turning the pages. Its hard to believe people could treat other people like this but I guess its an important part of American history.

Gary wrote: "The Night Season by Chelsea Cain"I loved her first three books which were all wrapped around the same characters. I'll be waiting to hear what you think of her newest release. I understand it's some of the same characters but not the same serial killer.
Reading and enjoying The Paris Wife. I'm also reading In the Garden of Beasts: Love, Terror, and an American Family in Hitler's Berlin which a harder read.
As always I have several things going. I'm still working on The Elegance of the Hedgehog. Have added: One Amazing Thing, as my January book club read; and I'm working on a gallery called The Gathering Storm coming out in January. I'm really enjoying this one. As far as, One Amazing Thing goes, I'm not in for enough to make a call. I'll keep you posted.

South of Broad may be my favorite, too. That one really stuck with me.
I'm reading Moby Dick by Herman Melville. It's turned out to be an awesome read. It has a real flavor to it that has proven to be to my liking. Melville seems to bounce around a bit sometimes but I'm really enjoying it.
Just finished
and really enjoyed it. A bit of history with a dash of Sherlock Holmes. Thank goodness for book club picks or I might never have read it.
I just finished
, it was very disappointing. I thought it was going to be an interesting read about theft and law, but the plot was not consistent at all.I am about to begin
, I watched the movie first and found it satisfactory.
