Jo | 5 comments I recently joined Goodreads. Looking forward to being part of this group and checking out what others have read and enjoyed. I love to read and there is nothing I won't attempt to read. I just finished reading The Gaia Wars by Kenneth G. Bennett. Read it in one sitting as I couldn't put it down. If you want to read my review: http://jobryantnz.wordpress.com/2011/...

Jane | 221 comments Krista - do you mean The Child Thief? I read it a few months ago and thought it was great. I'm looking forward to reading the original Peter Pan - let me know what you think.

Steph (somethingplace) | 79 comments I am reading Pure and Eon: Dragoneye Reborn and they're both great! Pure is just a very dark and gritty dystopia scenario. It feels more real than other dystopian books because it's based on a world altered by an atomic bomb.

Eon is also very interesting. I love anything based on dragons. Plus it has a very Tamora Pierce vibe to it. Anyone read it? I know the sequel is already out.

Are you referring to Seabiscuit: An American Legend? I hope so, I've got that one on my TBR shelf.

Hi Think! I'd be really interested to hear what you think of The Book, once you've finished! I've read two of M. Clifford's other books and really, thoroughly enjoyed them. I've been wondering if I should give The Book a try. :)

Oh, my bad! I'm all confused.

Okay, I have read The Book Thief and loved it and do find myself thinking about it often. In my post, however, I meant The Child Thief. That is the one I recently finished and have found myself also randomly thinking about.

I am greatly enjoying The Annotated Peter Pan (The Centennial Edition). Learning Barrie's history and Pan's back story and comparing it with Brom's interpretation of The Child Thief has been interesting.

I also just DVRed Neverland on the SciFi channel and look forward to watching that as well. If I understand correctly, it's what happens before Pan makes it to Neverland.

While I'm on the Pan flight, I think I may also rent Finding Neverland. I've seen it before, but think it would take on a whole new meaning now that I know more about Barrie.

Okay, I think I'm all updated now and corrected with the two similar book titles. :o) Thanks for catching the mix up, Jane!

message 26112: by Jane (new)

Jane | 221 comments Krista - Thanks for all your information. I was so fascinated by Brom's Child Thief I was going to read the James Barrie version and got off subject. You've re-fired my interest. I have DVR'd Neverland also but haven't gotten to it yet.

And I loved The Book Thief it's in my top 20 list of all time!

Renee (pontiacgal501) | 70 comments I just finished Coming Of Age In Mississippi by Anne Moody. This was a interesting read about a girl coming of age during the Civil Rights movement of the 1950's and 1960's.

Starting to read Halfway To The Grave by Jeaninne Frost (Misspelled authors name, don't have book in front of me.)

Ami E. Bowen (skayda) | 26 comments I just finished up Crossed (Matched, #2) by Ally Condie and am now reading Prized (Birthmarked, #2) by Caragh M. O'Brien . After which I will pop open my Kindle reader app to read Tortured (Birthmarked, #1.5) by Caragh M. O'Brien because I can't find an ePub version of it I can get without having to use a credit card. It is a free ebook. I was able to get a Kindle formatted copy without the use of a credit card so when the time arrives to start reading it I will just have to download and install the Kindle for Android app onto my Tablet and read it with that instead of my standby reading app of Aldiko. Wow, sorry for the rambling. So to reiterate; I'm currently reading Prized (Birthmarked, #2) by Caragh M. O'Brien by Caragh M. O'Brien. Happy reading, y'all.

I really liked it but found the subject matter depressing. I thought it was very well written and kept me turning the pages. Its hard to believe people could treat other people like this but I guess its an important part of American history.

Jeff Horton I'm reading Moby Dick by Herman Melville. It's turned out to be an awesome read. It has a real flavor to it that has proven to be to my liking. Melville seems to bounce around a bit sometimes but I'm really enjoying it.

Michael (book_nerd1991) I just finished The Brethren by John Grisham , it was very disappointing. I thought it was going to be an interesting read about theft and law, but the plot was not consistent at all.

I am about to begin Twelve by Nick McDonell , I watched the movie first and found it satisfactory.
