That's perfectly fine. Just please don't do it around the 20th if possible, exam period. I'm good whenever your free all the rest of the month though :)

Isabella Queirouz | 201 comments Hi Vonny,
I liked your profile and your books and here's my recs, I hope it suits you, if not just tell me :)

1-Friends: The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho

2-Romance: Pride and Prejudice by Austen Jane if you want to try more Classics, if not I selected from your TBR a 5 stars rated author by you What My Girlfriend doesn't know

3-Intense: Remember Me by Clark Mary Higgins or from your TBR Nineteen Minutes

4-Emotional: Dolores Claiborne by Stephen Kings

5-New: The Pillars of The Earth by Ken Follet, I think it's an interesting book.

6-Don't forget: The Beginning of After

7-Support: The Short Second Life Of Bree Tanner: An Eclipse Novella. We have The Twilight series high rated in common and I'm reading this book this month, why don't we read it together?

8-Bonus: The Boy In the Striped Pajama by John Boyne

I hope I did well and you find something you like.

Oh my too many good choices! Where to start? Probably Soulless because I am going to be traveling and love a good audiobook to pass the time. Then there is the Queen of Shadows looks really good. Slave to Sensation is one I've been wanting to read for a while and has been recommended to me many times. One for the Money I already have and would be a great vacation book. I might have to read them all.

message 856: by BJ Rose (new)

BJ Rose (bjrose) | 4413 comments Michelle wrote: "Hi BJ! Here's some suggestions for you..."

Thanks for doing double duty, Michelle!
I've been on a clean-out-the-cobwebs campaign with my older TBRs, so my first choice will be Don't Forget: All Through the Night
If I have time, I'll follow that with a romance: Hard Evidence - I had planned to read it in March, but ran out of month before I got to it!
You listed 2 books for Bonus: I've read The Secret Life of Bees, (but apparently forgot to add it to the Read list), but I'll see if I can get to Seaview Inn, since I've enjoyed that author in the past.
I won't be able to join you in a buddy read of The Hunger Games, tho. I was completely enthralled with the trilogy, but they were all library books, so I don't have a copy on hand for a reread. I'll be happy to be your cheering section, tho, if you want to PM me when you start it - those characters sure stay with you!

Ps: how are coming along with the recs made for u?.did u liked this challenge??

message 864: by Lisa Kay (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 1885 comments Autumn, Thank you for the posting. The person I sent recs to on the first day has so far not posted any recs to anyone. I was not involved in the remix. What do you mean by finished? As in read/finished a book? Anyway, it sounds like I am done, though if they pop in here I will be glad to finish the challenge by offering support or buddy-read. I sent a friend invite to both my picker and pickee and have had no response.

I liked my recs, appreciated them, and posted so a couple of days ago. One I am waiting on from the library, another I have already downloaded and it will be my next audiobook. Two were books I had already read. Three were books that were not on my TBR shelf, though one was by an author I have read. Unfortunately, none of these last three are available at my library. I checked things out at betterworldbooks; however, they were not available. (Still, that didn't stop me from spending almost $50 there! I am terribly tempted to may a trip to the bookstore...Someone stop me!) Also, I am hesitant to purchase any book when I have not had an offer for a buddy read/support, nor heard back about my offer. I did put in a request on GR’s bookswap. A bonus book was not offered in my recs.

I have thoroughly enjoyed the postings by everyone and have been adding more books to my bookshelves, both “to-read” and “to-ponder”. I have read some cleaver and insightful things about books I have both read and not read. Also, I appreciate the monumental task Debbie did so well.

XXX's and OOO's back at you!

I gave it 4 stars. I really enjoyed the read. I like Eidolon and Tayla. I felt like Eidolon was really genuine and sweet. Of course, I appreciate Tayla's kick-ass demeanor. I will definitely be reading the next book.

I know you were added in the re-mix and I still haven't seen anything come in for you. Did they send you a pm with recs? Anja | 40 comments I finished A Little Bit Wild last night. I enjoyed it. It was a good character study. The heroine is not the same woman in the beginning as in the end. At times it was uncomfortable reading about her growing pains so I'm torn on what grade to give. I am very excited for the sequel this summer.

Becky (beckysbusyreading) | 258 comments Comfort I had a lot of fun browsing your selves! I picked only books from your shelves and I hope you find something you like!
Here are your recs!
Friend: Small Town Siren by Sophie Oaks, I was recommended this book by a friend a few months ago, I saw it on your TBR and am giving you a nudge to read it!

Romance: Passion by Lisa Valdez, When I am in the mood for a steamy read this is one of the books I reach for.

Intense: Poison Study by Maria V Snyder. This book is different from most books I have read and I still loved it!

Emotions: Garden Spells by Sarah Addison Allen. I love love this book/author.

New: Magic Bites by Ilona Andrews. I think this is going to be a good New series for you to jump into!

Don't Forget: Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins, I see you have read books 1 & 2 so don't forget about the final book.

Support: Something More by Amanda Young, I have looked at this book for awhile and would be happy to read it with you, if interested let me know!!

message 889: by Cacophony (new)

Cacophony | 102 comments I finished The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie last night. I thought it was one of the best romances I have read in a long time. You could really empathize with the characters emotions. I am glad this was recommended to me. The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie (Highland Pleasures, #1) by Jennifer Ashley

message 890: by Tania (new)

Tania | 644 comments Hi Shona,

I enjoyed poking around your bookshelves. You don't have a huge tbr pile so a lot of these recs are on there, but hopefully you'll find something you'll like.

Friends: Riding the Storm by Sydney Croft. These were recommended to me in another group. They're kind of X-men get hot and steamy.

Romance: I'd like you to meet Brody, one of my all-time favourite heros. He's just so male in a totally devoted to my family but I'm a bad boy kind of way. Coming Undone by Lauren Dane is the second in the series but in my opinion it won't hurt to step in here. You can always go back to Laid Bare later.

Intense: The Reluctant Dom by Tymber Dalton. I cried for two hours after reading it. But please read the blurb before you pick it up. Given that I don't have that many boundaries in my reading preferences and I don't know what yours are - I'm all about informed reading choices :)

Emotions: The Black Dagger Brotherhood series has one particular book in it that was particularly emotional (and not all that comfortable) for me to read. But I can't throw you in at Phury's book so I'll suggested starting this amazing series at the start with Dark Lover by J.R. Ward.

New: You don't have much futuristic/sci-fi-ish romance on your shelves so I'm going to suggest two of my favourite series:

Grimspace by Ann Aguirre is the start of the Sirantha Jax series. A sci-fi romance series with excellent world building and a heroine who makes you really care for her throughout the story.

And Naked in Death by J.D. Robb is an amazing futuristic-crime uf series that tells the tale of a cop and her irishman. (30 something books later and they're still selling well - tells you something!)

Don't Forget: Technically Shinju by Laura Joh Rowland is first on your tbr list. But I'd be bumping up The Other Boleyn Girl by Philippa Gregory.

Support: Everyone keeps telling me to read Darkfever by Karen Marie Moning so if you're up for a buddy read let me know.

Bonus: I just can't get past Bet Me by Jennifer Crusie for a great friendship read.

Enjoy!!!
