I had a go at reading on my sister's kindle once... I kept trying to turn the page by touching the screen, which didn't work! That and the % malarkey sent me straight back to my eReader with a smile on my face :D

You get the pages on the iPad with iBooks and it does look very pretty but the dang thing's so heavy and I would never trust myself with that in the bath. The boyfriend would be mighty miffed if I dropped that piece of kit in the water!!

Aaah, my boyfriend keeps going on about buying an iPad 2... if he does he'll lose it so I can read on it. He is not yet fully aware of this though, so shh!

You'll have to subtly support the idea but not be too enthusiastic in case he gets suspicious...

The mere fact that I was against it in the past may tip him off. I think I'll have to keep playing "against" camp but tone down my arguments.

It worked with the PS3 (though I never actually wanted him to buy that, I just told him he shouldn't and next time I come over he's got one.) I'm sure I can make it work again now!

Char (CharmaineElaine) Okay I'm going to be starting Mistress of Rome by Kate Quinn tomorrow... and when I say "tomorrow" I probably mean Friday. (This is becoming a nasty habit lol.)

Just finished Stolen A letter to my captor by Lucy Christopher for the favourites challenge. Another review that I'm going to find hard to word (though thankfully for the same reason as the review of ATU and not FoH&T.)

I read the hard to review bit and nearly had a heart attack. I know you liked ATU though so panic over. I loved that book. One of my faves. :)

Haha, sorry for causing you a near-miss with the heart attack! I really don't know how to get my thoughts down into words yet. Sometimes I'll read other reviews and I find that that helps, but with this one I want it to come from me and only me (I did the same thing with ATU and that turned out a pretty darn good review even if I do say so myself!).

I'm gonna write to my cousin and recommend this one. :p Will also give it to my mum next time I see her.

message 1071: by Char (new)

Char (CharmaineElaine) I'll let you off! I had trouble with The Replacement. I wrote this really bad review and in the end I had to sleep on it. It was worth it. The second review is epic, one of my favourites that I've done. I also read the reviews sometimes, however it's difficult when you want it to come from yourself. (Your review of ATU was awesome. I loved it. I even told you that I did. :))

YES!!! :P Woo!!! (Don't mind me, you did take it off my shelf after all. :P)

I just wrote a review for Silence and it literally gave me a headache. I could barely explain why the book was a disappointment without dropping spoilers all over the place. Without spoilers the review is about three paragraphs long and with, it's about three times as long!

I'm very interested to see the review of Stolen because, I have to say, the premise of the book sounds pretty creepy. It's all in the execution though so I'm guessing it must be very cleverly written.

Say it isn't so about Silence. I started reading it but put it down in favor of another book. Not another crappy YA series installment this year. Say it isn't soooooo!

I'm sorry Terri - I wish I could, honestly. The series just seems to be going downhill fast. To me, it felt like they'd dragged the story out just so they could cash in on a fourth book rather than wrap it up in a trilogy. It was very frustrating at times. :(

Terri ♥ (aka Mrs. Christian Grey) (mybookboyfriend) | 21 comments Darn! I'll push it back on my reading list. Just say it wasn't as bad as Passion (Fallen series) if you read.

FUNNY!!! I guess your right. If I start a series, I try to finish. But based on reviews I read prior to Fallen, I never should have started. It's highly unlikely I will read the next.

I did! It was very well written. The author managed to give me Stockholm Syndrome as the reader! Though whether or not if affects you like that I think it might depend on what sort of guys you like (butch vs "fragile"). I was captivated, and the fact that there are no chapters meant that once I'd picked it up, I didn't put it down again until I'd finished.

I'm with Char. I wanted them to be together, but as of the very beginning, I knew that they couldn't be simply because of the subject matter. The ending closes it quite well - she realises that she needs to get on with her life - but who knows? I can imagine a future for them in my head where they come together again under better circumstances should I want to! ;) I was quite happy with the ending to be honest and the decisions that were made there.

Sorry! You know the ending as of the very beginning, though. It's kinda like The Book Thief in that respect - there's only one way that it could ever possibly turn out. But the ending isn't the interesting bit. The best bit of the book is the middle - it is SO well done. You should totally read it. I highly recommend it.
