Optional – What I thought of them: More likely to re-read ‘Mirror to Damascus’ for although that was a more challenging read, it spoke to me more as a reader. I felt that 'The Kite Runner' was just a little bit too cliched. Although, these two books are so different it is impossible to compare them properly.

Although I usually love James Patterson's books, I did find The Postcard Killers to be very gory and didn't enjoy it as much as most of his books.
The Kite Runner on the other hand was amazing, "dark" in some areas but so informative. I really enjoyed this book as well as his "A Thousand Splendid suns."
