Awesome! I'm so jealous!!!

message 954: by Julie (new)

Julie I just finished Drought by Pam Bachorz , definitely very strange...I'd say it was a 2.5 to 3 star for me. I'm trying to decide what to read now, nothing is sounding good.

message 955: by Angie (new)

Angie (angiebayne) I just started Shatter Me (Shatter Me, #1) by Tahereh Mafi . not very far into it yet, but it seems interesting.

Well, I'm a familiar face in the YA section of the library and the librarian knows me and knows how much I read, so whenever she goes to events that give out ARCs she usually lets me read them.

Andrea (ajlugo9) I Cant seem to find the Death Cure The Death Cure by James Dashner in actual book form anywhere... frustrating! I am currently enthralled with The Knife Of Never Letting Go The Knife of Never Letting Go (Chaos Walking, #1) by Patrick Ness hope it ends up being a group read soon because I have a lot to say!

In my other goodreads group there are tons of people who LOVE the Chaos Walking series. They rave about it. I have checked out the first book twice now and I can never get past the second page. But, I've promised them that I would give it five chapters before making up my mind. So, I will eventually give it another go. I hope it ends up being as good as everyone says. It sounds like it would be good for a group read.

What do you think of it??

message 960: by Julie (new)

Julie As of right now I am still working on Entwined by Heather Dixon ( I like it, just haven't had much need to read on my phone lately) and am almost done with One Day by David Nicholls . Also working on The Pregnancy Project by Gaby Rodriguez (on my computer at work) and Brave New Love 15 Dystopian Tales of Desire by Paula Guran

I heard about the pregnancy project, didn't know there was book, thanks for the heads up

Angie (angiebayne) I just finished The Pearl Wars (Skyship Academy #1) by Nick James and loved it. I am still trying to get through A Million Suns (Across the Universe, #2) by Beth Revis and having a really hard time with it. I just can't stand Amy and Elder so I keep putting it down and reading something else. Can't decide if I am going to start Fateful by Claudia Gray or Feed (Newsflesh Trilogy #1) by Mira Grant next.

It seems like all I ever do is read on my phone these days.

I really liked Entwined, but I admit it took a long time before it got really good.

I'm starting Dragonswood by Janet Lee Carey today. Hoping it's gonna be AMAZING, haven't read a really good faerie book in a while.

message 964: by Rachel (new)

Rachel (rmenard) I finished Hush, Hush (Hush, Hush, #1) by Becca Fitzpatrick last night. I almost put it down several times, but managed to make it to the end. I wasn't impressed.

I'm about to get started on The Knife of Never Letting Go (Chaos Walking, #1) by Patrick Ness . I've heard so many good things about the series, I'm excited to get into it.

That was my favorite book of 2011. I keep reading hoping to find something equally as good and only end up disappointed.

message 970: by Moedawg63 (new)

Moedawg63 | 5 comments I just finished Matched last night and started Crossed. I agree with most of the sentiments here that Matched was overhyped. It took about 120 pages to get into it (which is too much if you ask me!) but once I sat down with it for a chunk of time I appreciated it more for the romance than for the dystopian society.
So far Crossed has a similar feel to a lot of book #2s: different, stark setting, a lot of movement/pursuit.

message 971: by Bethany (new)

Bethany I'm almost done with Lips Touch Three Times by Laini Taylor and I'm really loving it.
I have started A Million Suns (Across the Universe, #2) by Beth Revis and it's not too exciting yet, but I'm hoping it picks up.

And yay! Legend (Legend, #1) by Marie Lu is at the library, ready to pickup. So I probably start that later this week :)

I just finished Matched last night. It was meh at best. Slow going, no character development (they were so flat!). It took me until about 1/2 way to get into it at all and then I pushed to finish it. I hear Crossed is better so I will try it out tbis weekend.

message 973: by Angie (new)

Angie (angie1975) just finished Arena One: Slaverunners by Morgan Rice, and really liked it.

message 977: by Mandy (last edited Mar 01, 2012 01:21PM) (new)

Mandy | 1 comments I Read the The Knife of Never Letting Go (Chaos Walking, #1) by Patrick Ness chaos walking series last year. I have never read a series of books before that I loved and hated all at the same time. Parts made me cry and I mean snotty crying. Then before I knew it I was screaming with frustration. At one point I actually wanted to throw it up the wall. Only thing stopping me was I was reading in Kindle format lol
I am now currently reading The Eleventh Plague by Jeff Hirsch

message 978: by Bethany (new)

Bethany Finished Legend (Legend, #1) by Marie Lu and LOVED IT!!!

Now I'm about halfway through Article 5 (Article 5, #1) by Kristen Simmons and so far I'm not too impressed. I hope it picks up...

I bought Exceptional too. I'm glad to hear it's a good one. the synopsis sounded really great. I'm excited to read it!

I'm 150 pages into Bitterblue (The Seven Kingdoms, #3) by Kristin Cashore and it's great so far. I've really missed my Graceling friends :)

message 990: by Julie (new)

Julie Totally off topic but this one is used the most and I'm so excited!! And disappointed :( I got a call to be an extra on the Vampire Diaries!! They film by Atlanta and they wanted me the 12th and 13th of this month but the fitting is this monday and there is no way it makes sense for me to drive down there just to try on clothes and drive back, then drive down there the next week. They said they usually have fittings a day or 2 before you work but they had to reschedule this one so they might call me back next time. I'm keeping my fingers (and toes) crossed!!!

Sorry for the thread hijack :)

message 996: by Julie (new)

Julie Finished Fever (The Chemical Garden, #2) by Lauren DeStefano , I really liked the beginning, the middle was a little slow and then the end was strange. Sometimes I get really irritated with her obsession over finding her brother, but overall I gave it 4 stars (think I gave Wither 5).
