Yeah, the last 3 books are so different than the first, thats the thing with the series. It draws a certain audience with book 1 and then kinda loses them later. I hope you enjoy Xenocide more than I did. It was my least fave in the series. The Shadow saga is more like Ender's Game, but its very politic.

I have it on my list for December. I think I am going to do "Dystopian December" and read only dystopian/PA books that month since I have SO many and some I've had for like 2 years and haven't gotten to.

Kelly Hull (kellyvan) | 80 comments Division of the Marked (Book 1) by March McCarron Very suprised at how good this Indie book is. This is part Divergent, part Harry Potter, with a splash of Percy Jackson. Only about halfway, but it's really good.

message 1607: by Bethany (new)

Bethany I just got done with Reboot (Reboot, #1) by Amy Tintera and The Testing (The Testing, #1) by Joelle Charbonneau . Both were fabulous and I would definitely recommend them. Great dystopian/PAs.

lézengő reader (kergezerge) Better later than never, I started reading Battle Royale
Last night I wanted to start The Black Prism, although I'm tired of trilogies of lazy authors, but hey, let's give it a chance - then discovered that the trilogy is actually going to be a tetralogy, so, sorry, back with you to the library, darling!

Throne of Glass (Throne of Glass, #1) by Sarah J. Maas and Crown of Midnight (Throne of Glass, #2) by Sarah J. Maas ? I really liked those, and the short stories that go with them.

message 1619: by Julie (new)

Julie I started Chosen Ones (The Lost Souls, #1) by Tiffany Truitt last night (already not what I was expecting). I'm doing a Dystopian December and planning to read only dystopian/PA books this month so I can knock some out I've had around forever.

That one was mediocre for me as well. I thought it could have been much better.

I think I'm gonna start The Iron Traitor (The Iron Fey Call of the Forgotten, #2) by Julie Kagawa as well. Love the last book. Excited for this one.

message 1628: by Bethany (new)

Bethany Ooo...I just finished Horde (Razorland, #3) by Ann Aguirre . So good. I think this series as a whole has been one of my favorite ever. Loved the ending, it was so perfect :)

Before that I read The Testing and already preordered the next book coming out in January.

I read the prequel to ORBS, but haven't read ORBS yet. I liked Legend, but it's been such a longtime, I may need to reread it before I read the sequels.

Bethany I just finished Paranormalcy (Paranormalcy, #1) by Kiersten White (which I've been meaning to read for a long time) and Incarnate (Newsoul, #1) by Jodi Meadows (which I wasn't really planning on reading ever) And I enjoyed both immensely. I especially love Incarnate...just sayin'.

Now I'm reading Feudlings (Fate on Fire, #1) by Wendy Knight which is cutesy so far, but not amazing.

I'm thinking either Falling Kingdoms (Falling Kingdoms, #1) by Morgan Rhodes or The Burning Sky (The Elemental Trilogy, #1) by Sherry Thomas next.
