What are you reading right now?
I'm about finished with
, and an off and on reading
on my Kindle (it was like $2.99 I think). I'll be starting
next.
A great book Fugitives from Northwoods"Eight teenagers escape imprisonment at a work camp to brave the wilderness. Tested to their limits, they struggle to survive their terrifying dash for freedom..."
A great story, well written - I couldn't put it down and am very happy to recommend
I just finished
(very cute and sweet) and am now reading
, I really hope it gets better. I'm kind of tired of helpless, dramatic, whiny girls
Monsters of Men was amazing. Couldn't read for weeks after that. And I was reading 3 books a week at that time. Love it!!I'm currently reading Goddess by Josephine Angelini. Just finished The Rise of the Hotel Dumort. LOVE me some Magnus stories!! :D
Just finished
. It wasn't as good as the hunger games but it was still pretty good. Idk if I am going to read insurgent yet or not. I probably will eventually

Here are a few books I enjoyed that are a little reminiscent of The Hunger Games:

Really liking it. Very intriguing and unique story."
Did you like Arclight? I read the sample and it was promising although a little confusing too. I didn't buy it yet because the reviews aren't all that great and it was a little pricey.

I'm only about a third way through and I think it'll be my favorite out of the three. I felt like the first one just wasn't that great but other people told me the series was great. I think they got better as they went.
Divergent isn't that good?! :/ I've seen a lot of praise for it and so I just bought two days ago.

I really liked Divergent, but Insurgent was a disappointment.

Divergent wasn't bad by any means, it is just that I always hear it compared to the hunger games. The hunger games for me is ranked in my top ten, divergent falls into the lower to middle twenties. That isn't bad by any standard.
I'm currently reading the blood keeper by Tessa Gratton, it's the second book in the series. It's slow to start with but it's definitely starting to keep me interested!
Cheer wrote: "Julie wrote: "I just finished

I finished
tonight. I started it last night and read 70% in one sitting! That is a record for me here this past year or so! It was really good, definitely kept me interested and anxious to know what was going to happen. I preordered
the other day and it showed up on my kindle this morning so starting it now
I know I'm really late in the trend but my copy of Divergent came in at the library and I read like 75% of it just today. Another half hour or so and I'll finish it haha
Just finished. Fire and Ash
, #5 in the Benny Imura series. I could not imagine how he could end this book satisfactorily in the the number of pages remaining but he did it! Certainly hope Maberry will continue this series.
I am currently reading SLATED by Teri Terry and am thoroughly enjoying. The one problem though is that I have difficulty Closing it!! LoL!!
Cat wrote: "Uglies but just started that last night so I can't tell you what I think of it yet. The Uglies is ACE!! I proper enjoyed the whole series!!
I'm just catching up with two months worth of Marvel and DC and then I'm going to start The 5th Wave. I've heard mixed reviews so I'm looking forward to seeing who I'm going to agree with!
I have to comment (since its being discussed) that I love Divergent. I might love it slightly more than the hunger games because of how it speaks to me personally. And I was not disappointed by Insurgent. It was different, but I thought it made a lot of sense as the second installment. I am currently reading
. My husband and I just finished Ender's game in preparation for the film. Now we're on to the sequel.@Cheer- sorry to respond so late, but YES!! I absolutely loved
it was honestly the best book I've read so far this year. It had some good ol' creepy mystery to it, originality and a great premise and story. I highly recommend it!

You will have to let me know how good the second endor book is. My girlfriend and I read it on a trip up north last year, we only had one copy so we decided to read it at the same time. We read the whole thing like two kids in a tree fort, both reading the same page at the same time. It turned out to be a super fun thing to do and a great experience. We thought about reading the second one but the description didn't look that good to us.

It's actually really interesting because if you read the super long author's note at the beginning of Ender, you find out that the second book, Speaker, was the one he was really trying to write and Ender was just a little novella. He actually had to go back and turn Ender's Game into a full novel to make Speaker's story more relevant and to keep it from having a massive prologue. Anyway, I found that pretty cool. And I'm so grateful because Ender's Game was awesome :)

I've heard that the shadow series was better. I definitely plan to give it a try.
Bethany wrote: "Speaking of
(Cheer) its only $1.99 right now on kindle. Get it!!!! It's really awesome guys :)"I saw that this morning and remembered you had read it so I went to see your rating and review before I decided to buy it, lol.

a lot, but the last two arent as good IMO. The overall story is a bit weird. But the Shadow Saga takes place on earth and it feels so much more relevant.

I don't know if I can classify which I liked better. I liked the subject matter of Speaker a bit more than Ender. But, they're still both fabulous. And I'm starting
, about 50 pages in :)

I loved Speaker for the Dead. It was my fave of the Ender sequels. But the Shadow books are truly my faves of the saga.
