★ I'll allow everyone to pick 2 books added to their bookshelf within their first 6 months on GR, that they actually want to read. The month/year you joined GR is stated in your profile.
Hope that helps. Although, you might enjoy both, you aren't stuck having to read them. :)

Thanks a bunch! I may even change to others added the same day. I don't want to HAVE to start the year with heavier reading. I guess I think of them as a bit more challenging to get through. I will probably still read them but take my time and not rush in my excitement over the contemporary ones I want to read. I am thinking that School's Out - Forever will be the first one. I enjoyed book 1. I read it quite some time ago. I may have to reread it this month to refresh. It is one of those series I keep forgetting about. It isn't PNR. More sci-fi.

To answer your ?, I think I get it, they don't have to be in any particular order on your TBR list. As long as they are books you want to read, they're fine. But, if you're saying that you only added two books in the first 6 months on GR, then yeah, you'd have to read those two before moving onto the other books on your list.
Did either of those answer your question? LOL! I thought I got it, maybe not.

Okay, now I'm confused. Let me see if I can make my question clearer. Okay, I've only been a member 10 months & haven't added that many books in that time BUT I've added more than one each month. Maybe not ones I'm super excited about reading but I have options. So say for example:
Book #1: How to Abduct a Highland Lord-added March 10(1st month)
Book #2: A Certain Slant of Light-added July 10(5th month)
First two are manditory. Then that leaves me with 5 months of TBR books to choose from. Could book #3 be
Book #3: Darkborn-added May 14(3rd month)
or does every book after the 2nd book have to be after July 10th?

Okay, now I'm confused. Let me see if I can make my question clearer. Okay, I've only be..."
:) NOW, I got it. Thanks for the visual. That helped. YES, you have to read those 2 first, since they were added within your 1st 6months @ GR. NO, you don't have to pick the remaining books after that 6month period. All add'l books can be chosen from any "add date" at that point.

Happy Birthday! :)

LOL! Welcome to the challenge, Thenia. Way to dress the part. ;)

Thank you! I have like 15 dollars left out of 50. I bought 4 next in series books and 1 new to me series book. Now I realize I don't have enough left for 2 more books. May have to wait until after the holidays... I am trying to figure out which combo of books I can buy for the 15 I have left...
I bought:

All on Kindle.
Now I need the rest of PJ and Narnia and the other 1st in series I have in this challenge. I also want to get the Hunger Games series but I don't have that in this challenge.
ETA: I figured it out. I bought the next 2 Percy books. So now I only have 1 left I need on Kindle. I have 2 copies of book 1 in paper but will most likely rebuy on Kindle LOL. Now to post in the Splurge thread. :D

Hopefully, I'll get more gift cards for Xmas & be able to get the rest of my Mt. TBR books not at the library.

I have enough to keep me busy for the start of the year. Narnia needs to be read ASAP seeing as the new movie is out... Let us know how you like your books. Enjoy cuddling with your Kindle. :)

1st January to 31st December 2011

0/15 - Mt Olympus
First two must be read before going onto the rest (both added within first 6 months of joining).

2) - The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova - Currently Reading (and liking)
3) - The Strain by Guillermo Del Toro
4) - Shadow Kiss by Richelle Mead
5) - Blood Promise

7) - Last Sacrifice
8) - The Deadliest Bite by Jennifer Rardin

12) - Destined for an Early Grave
13) - This Side of the Grave
14) - Covet by J.R. Ward

I know everyone's going for 25 - but I've got to be realistic, these are all books that I need to read next year - 25 would just be too much with all the other challenges I've got going on.

And, welcome to the challenge! Don't forget to add all your books TBR no later than 12/31. Come "the day of the ones" (1/1/11) no changes allowed. :)

*running off to get pom poms* Go on guys! You'll all do great! *cheering wildly*

I originally planned to go for 15. But apparently, I'm unable to half-ass anything when it comes to extending my misery. I was thisclose to adding FIVE MORE books to my list yesterday-making it a grand total of 30 books-but I had to stop myself.

Don't tempt me... :) What would you call it then?

I know no one twisted my arms to do them but -- I'm feeling like a sailor-got-drunk-and-woke-up-with-tattoos moment here. -- Oh well! I have the whole year to finish anyhoo. :-)
