Come on people help me out here, think of something better!!!
I love it! How 'bout: Bingo Babes, The Fearsome Five, Go-Gos (<-- #5 in Japanese is "Go"), Tres Chic, 3rd Times the Charm, The 3rd Degree, Prime Time (<--- 3 is a prime #) ....
I like the names girls, 3rd times the charm & one fang too many is realy good oh I also like the fearsome five HEHE.
Looks like we've got a great team here. Good ideas for team names. I've been trying to think of something, but my clever hat has a hole in it today and all the ideas slipped out. LOL. No energy, hard time thinking ... hmmm ... maybe I stayed up too late last night reading? Nahhh, that never happens.
LOL, Daffodil. :) Patch up that hat, enjoy those books and no worries, we'll come up with something together. Teamwork, baby. :)So, in the running, we've got:
3rd Times the Charm
One Fang Too Many
The Fearsome Five
I'm lovin' One Fang Too Many. Let's see what Sevie has to say when she spots the team she's on and we'll go from there.
Do ya think I should email Sevie to let her know we've organized teams and will be starting tomorrow?
OK, so the 1st shelf is Vampire Romance - link to the correct shelves - 9. Vampire Romance Our BINGO CARD No. is N 13
Please feel free to post here what book you're reading, so we can all enjoy your choice and cheer you on. Totally optional of course.
Don't forget when you've finished reading to post a short review here too.
I'm going to read Dead and Gone for this one. I know I've had it up as currently reading but, I stopped reading it a while ago and will start it back over if thats OK with everyone else? If not just let me know and I can read something else.
As long as you start over and read from the beginning, I guess that'd be okay. But, just this once. All other choices can't be picked/started until the shelf has been posted.
I'm going to be reading MIDNIGHT AWAKENING by LARA ADRIAN off the 'vampire romance' shelf. I'll also be starting CLOCKWORK ANGEL by CASSANDRA CLARE for my part in our free space credit.
Happy reading, One Fang Too Many! (trying it on for size, I like the name!)
Yeah, One Fang is growing on me too.I'll be reading One Foot in the Grave, especially as I just finished Halfway to the Grave yesterday. LOL. Although probably not till the weekend (darn that RRRC Relay).
Dang it, I forgot to check where MA falls for me in my relay. Bugger! Off to see what I have to read before I can start it. :/
Well, I have three books in front of Midnight Awakening, so that won't work. Blast that relay! LOL!! Ok, so I'm changing my shelf pick to WAIT FOR DUSK by JOCELYNN DRAKE.
I've got 4 possibilities chosen, they're all sitting on my TBR stack ... somewhere. LOL. I'll have to search to find a couple of them since books are three deep in some areas of my shelves.Options:
Hmmm, tough decision. Queen of Shadows and Rush of Wings are both near the front of my TBR since I just bought them a couple weeks ago. However Dead End Dating would work for more challenges: Pink for the PNR color challenge and it has a cape for the Dracula part of the Monster Mash challenge. I'm leaning towards that one, if I can just track it down.
LOL! Always hard when you have so many good ones to choose from, but cross-challenge possibilities are always nice. :)
So far, I'm really enjoying Wait for Dusk. I definitely enjoyed Danaus' POV in the last book, but this one is off to a great start. Hope everyone else is enjoying their choice (and/or book they're currently reading)! :D
Sorry, it has been a super crazy week @ work and I completely forgot, I love our name, pretty funny.I will get back to you my choice of book by the end of today.
Hi, Sevie! Great to see ya. No worries, definitely understand. Good choice, I haven't read that series yet, but have had it on my maybe list for a long time. I'll be interested to hear what you think of it.
Hi Sevie, glad you're still in. I too will be interested to hear what you think of Michelle Rowan. I've been thinking of adding her to my ever expanding list of tbr.
FYI TO ALL PLAYERS:I created a spreadsheet to help me keep track of player & team stats throughout the challenge. You are welcome to view it HERE . Edits are not allowed, please do not make any changes to the spreadsheet. If any information is incorrect, please let me know. Thanks!
Ok, here's the scoop:

Full review with possible minor series spoilers here
Wait for Dusk was a fantastic addition to the Dark Days series! I thought book #4 told from Danaus' POV was my favorite, but this one tops it. Long time fans of the series will not be disappointed. :D
In this addition, we learn a lot more about Mira. What she learns just adds to the list of people who would love to see this feisty fire starter dead.
Mira, Danaus, Valerio and Stefan are off to Budapest to investigate the Naturi status and find out just who is in charge of the supe community over there.
Valerio and Stefan are a riot! Blood-thirsty nightwalkers at heart with a long history with Mira. They have their own reasons for tagging along and she's not sure if her death is one of them or not.
The suspense, action and relationship woes in this book are non-stop and keep you turning pages to find out what will happen next.
I am SO excited for book #6 and H8W8NG!!
Book ReviewWow, that was a chore to read.
This was pretty tough to get through and I tried to give it a fair read without skimming over parts. This book is about Sarah Dearly, a twenty-something, executive assistant that lives in Toronto. She goes on a blind date and he turns her into a vampire. In this world the vampires still keep their secrecy. So we go through the whole vampire in denial bit. Her vampire love interest is completely unlikable. He is no Bones that's for sure. I don't know what else to say, the characters were not interesting to me so I was losing interest fast. Probably didn't help that I just read Anne Bishops Black Jewels Series (amazing!) Other books that were similar to this one are,
Tall, Dark & Dead by Tate Hallaway
Dead, Undead, or Somewhere In-between
High Stakes (Vegas Vampires) by Erin McCarthy
Nice Girls Dont have Fangs by Molly Harper
So if you really like any of those then you will probably like this. I am into more the kick ass heroine authors like, Ilona Andrews, Jeanine Frost, Karen Chance, etc...
Aw, sorry, Sevie. Way to push through. I hate that feeling though, when a book feels like a chore. I'm guessing you're done with that series? What was your final ★ rating?Better read with the next book, I hope. :)
i gave it 2 stars. I will not be reading the next in the series, I guess there was a good reason it sat at the bottom of my TBR pile forever. I also hope my next selection is better. Oh by the way I can't wait to get back to reading the Dark Days series, you've renewed my interest. I had completely forgotten about it. I liked the first one and it looks like they get even better as the series progresses.
Yay! That series has picked up 100%, IMO. The last two being my absolute favorites. Hope you enjoy it ... again. :)
Sevie, we're going to have to compare shelves--Ilona Andrews, Anne Bishop & Karen Chance are all faves of mine.Sounds like the book you read was chicklit-ish. I'm not a fan either. :) Have you read anything by Katie MacAlister? I read the 1st 3 of her Aisling Grey series and will never read the fourth. My desire to actually strangle Aisling is just too great. ;)
UPDATE: Rule ChangeChange effective immediately
Due to Team 2, The G.L.O.B.s, being short one member, I am changing the required reading needed to achieve "shelf credit" down to FOUR books.
Each team member is still required to read a book for each shelf.
New Rule: As soon as FOUR books are read, rated & reviewed, that team will get credit for that shelf.
Please let me know if you have any questions regarding this change. Thanks & Happy Reading!
Copy cat syndrome ... LOL!Here's an update on our group as of 10/20/10:

For my "Free" Space choice I will read Dreams Made FleshI've been on an Anne Bishop kick lately, it's weird because I did not think I would like pure fantasy but I love these books, pulled me in right from start.
Laura, well this tells you how bad Bitten and Smitten was because I can actually tolerate MacAlisters Aisling Grey series, I think it's because of Jim the Newfie demon. I have a soft spot for talking dogs....anyways, I don't like her vampire series. talk about annoying women. I read those types of books if I desperately need to read something and I already devoured my favs.
5*DONE 10/15 WOW, Great book!!!
The story line in this book had a lot more going on and was a bit faster paced than the other books before it. Can't wait to read the next book, and find out what Sookie does about the Eric and Bill scenario. I really think Eric is the better choice for Sookie myself, Bill is a bit whiney for my taste.
I'm a bit upset that Troy had to die in the end and hope that Amilia doesn't take it out on Sookie in the next book. <3<3<3 Eric!!! and if Sookie wont take him I will LOL!!!!!
And here are the Free Space rules:To get free space credit, each team must pick a book from one of these three options:
(1) SOS' Book of the Month: October's Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare OR November's Alpha by Rachel Vincent
OR
(2) A book off of any of the group's October or November new release threads found here:
SOS New Releases
OR
(3) A book off of the group's bookshelf (any shelf/tag)
SOS Bookshelf
***Be sure to post on your team's thread: which book you chose for FREE SPACE credit, which of the three options above you chose to pick your book, your rating and your review. Once all members of each team have posted that information, your team will get "a stamp" in the FREE SPACE. :D
I finally got my hands on a copy of The Clockwork Angles so I'll see if I can't get that read for the free space in between all these other challenges. Posted my review up above and hope that's enough I'm not to good @ reviews.
Good review, Amber. Maybe make a note re: possible spoiler in case people haven't read the series or that far in the series yet. Also, I noticed I typed "each team must ..." when listing the free space instructions. That should really be "each team member". Team members are allowed to pick from those three options. They do not all have to read the same book. Sorry for the error.
