Amber (crazyaboutbooks) | 499 comments OK, so here's my long awaited review Jealousy (Strange Angels, #3) by Lilith Saintcrow
I give this a 4.5 star rating and Finished 11/8
I have to start by saying, I love this series and can't hardly wait for spring so I can see what Dru's going to do.
This book was so full of action I could hardly keep up with what was going to happen to poor Dru. I have to say my favorite part in the book was the cat fight between Dru and Anna
I've not picked a side on the Boy's yet, because I like them both and think they both bring out different Dru's and I want to see what happens to the loup-garou in the next book. Happy Reading Team :D

Sevie | 26 comments Shifter Shelf Review: Bayou Moon (The Edge, #2) by Ilona Andrews

It's been awhile since I read 'On the Edge (The Edge #1)' so I looked back and saw that I gave it 4 stars, but what I remember most about that book was that I thought it was a little too fairytale-ish with perfect prince Declan saving poor, doing the best she can with what she's got, Rose. It filled my Illona Andrews fix at the time but it was missing the Kate/Curran action packed, love-hate relationship, super kickass female protagonist element.

Well the Illona Andrews team does not disappoint with 'The Edge #2 - Bayou Moon'. We get all that and more. The first few chapters were a little slow for me and I was a little worried it would become a chore to read but then before I knew it, it was 3am! The story is about William a wolf changling. William is a military trained killer, one of the best and is hired to hunt down the agent known as Spider. This leads him into the Louisiana part of the Weird called Mire, vast swampland with dangerous gators and other creatures. At the same time we meet born and raised in the Mire, Cerise, bearer of a magically enhanced sword. They end up fighting together for the same goal, finding the Spider. What really gave this story an edge was all the magically-genetic mutated villians. The Andrews team really out did themselves with some of the most unique horror inducing villians that I've read about in a long time. For that alone I would give it 5 stars.
Rated - 5 stars
Read - Nov. 9

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments LMAO!! Is BM whimpering on the shelves, Sandra? hehe >:)

I'm a little more than 1/2 way through Alpha and loving it. Trying SO hard to read slowly and savour it, but things are getting heated and my pace is picking up. Should be done later today, if RL stops interfering. Can you aim your whip at my RL To-Do list for a minute? LOL!

Sandra | 25908 comments Shifters
Silver Borne (Mercedes Thompson, #5) by Patricia Briggs
11/11/10 ★★★★★

Wow! This book, the 5th in the series, starts with Mercy thinking finally everything is settling down. No vampire attacks, werewolves seeminly behaving themselves, the matebond with Adam the Alpha, falling into place.

************SPOILERS*************************

Then a strange phonecall about a fae book, leant to her from a mostly human fae, starts a mystery Mercy intends to solve. Where has Phin gone, is he still alive and what does she want to do about it?

Mercy suffers through several fae attacks and a few attempts from werewolves to disrupt the matebond with Adam.

Suddenly Gabriel, the sometime apprentice mechanic is kidnapped by the Fae Queen and Mercy, Sam, Zee & Ariana go to rescue him & Phin. With help from Bran, Adam is finally able to rescue Mercy & defeat the Queen.

Can't wait for the next instalment.

Play of Passion (Psy-Changeling, #9) by Nalini Singh Play of Passion, Nalini Singh
Finished 11-11-10
Rating 5 stars (all gold)
Review From the moment I picked up the book, I was drawn into Indigo & Andrew's story. Both are strong members of the Snow Dancer Wolf Pack and Indy's concerns about their relationship were entirely believable. Andrew's charm and lovability were a good counterpoint to her seriousness. And Singh did a wonderful job at characterization, because for all his charm, you knew Andrew was dependable also. Overall, another great entry in the Psy-Changeling series; once I started, I had to stay up late to finish it.

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments Yowza! Am I lucky #4?! Yippeee! Ok then, here's my deets:

Alpha (Shifters, #6) by Rachel Vincent
Read @ 11/11/10 5★
Review: I'm going to keep this very generalized b/c I don't want to spoil for those that haven't gotten to it yet. I will, however, eventually, hop over to the BOM thread and go all out. (So, don't tread there if you haven't read it yet, I'm not gonna hold back. LOL!)

I withheld starting this book b/c I really didn't want the series to end. But, when I saw our shelf I knew it'd be listed there and figured it was the book gods' way of saying, "Get on with it. There'll be other great reads ahead." So I did! Initially I was able to read slowly, to savour it a bit. But, like all the books in this series, this one quickly picked up speed and wouldn't let me off the ride. I was stuck, glued to each page, smiling, crying, yelling, along with Faythe and her family of werecats.

The story was full of more lows than highs, but about par for Faythe's path so far. She hasn't been the luckiest cat in the kennel. Hard being an independent female who's not ready to pop out kittens, as the men (outside of her family) feel she should. Not to mention the state of her "love life" when Shift ended. As always, there were plenty of cat fights that kept the action flowing as well.

In the end, I can say that Vincent successfully wrapped up most, if not all, loose ends. There are always things I would like to have seen done differently, but it wasn't my story to tell. All I can do is hang on tight and enjoy the ride. And, enjoy it I did!

Amber (crazyaboutbooks) | 499 comments I finished this book today and sorry for the short review but, I have to know what happens so I'm off to read the next one.
I rate this book 5 stars. This book had way more action from start to finish than the other two. I'm Really enjoying this series but, after a cliffhanger like that one I don't know what to do if Mark isn't going to be in the next one as much. I'm really liking him more so, after this book and I feel for Faythe she's trying real hard to grow up. Faythe has dodged a bullet with the Tribunal it looks like and know we wait to see what happens with her dad and all the problems coming to a fore front. I Really liked the new young tabby Kaci and can't wait to see what happens with her future at hand.
