I looked at the shelf and made a list of possibilites. After work tonight, I'll look over my shelf and choose one that strikes my fancy. And I don't have to worry about the number of words in the title anymore! Cue the music, ::"Freedom" soundtrack plays in background:: LOL. It wasn't that bad. Quite. But I am happy the RRRC Tournament is over.

this morning. It fits into a couple different challenges for me so it was the best choice.

Rating: 3.5 stars
Review: Surprisingly enjoyable. Other reviews made me think I might be disappointed, but I ended up zipping right through this. Lots of threads left hanging in the overall story arc, but that's to be expected in a quartet. I will definitely be reading the next in this set.

Usually the second book in a series is the boring one but, that is not the case with Frost Bite! This was even better than the first one (which was good):D Taking the whole school & their families on a ski vacation was brilliant. It made it possible to bring in more characters without having to make them younger students or teachers. Adrain is dark & sexy, Tasha is scarred, beautiful & outspoken. Jannie is tough but tender. We get to see a relation develop between Rose & Mason. Some surprises & sadness along the way. But there is no way this will disappoint a VA fan! Happy reading to the rest of you!!!!!

Where to start? For the first 1/2 of this book I was a ball of frustration. My hubby kept asking, "Still reading that one? Why don't you stop and move on?" The answer ... so many 4-5★ reviews had me curious what I was missing.
The book dumps you into the world with little to no explanation of, well, anything. You meet the two mains, Chaz, who is a babysitter and employee of "Fresh Start". And, Angelique, the Newbie he's babysitting.
There are many POVs, including a dog's, which added to some of my confusion, I think. Chaz often came off as a female voice, causing me to have to flip back to double check, "Who's POV am I reading now?" LOL!
I eventually figured out the idea behind the story/world. Chaz and his family created "Fresh Start", a resurrection company. If you choose to live and die, one life, no resurrection, you are considered a One-Timer. Turns out, as things are now, you can only resurrect into a clone body nine times before your DNA breaks down so much that you cannot "jump" again.
Babysitters look after those that have recently "jumped" into their next life. You can choose which memories you'd like to carry over with you. You don't wake with them, they come back to you over the first couple of days.
Why 3.5★?
As confused as I was, I was just as equally impressed with the writing. How can that be? The writing was beautiful, but lacking in the information I needed as a reader to understand the world she was creating. And, the storyline is original and an interesting one.
I don't know that I could manage any add'l books in the series. I seriously felt like the most ignorant person trying to figure out this book. Maybe eventually, but this may be the last of the Resurrection Chronicles for me.

Dead to the World sees Eric fall afoul of a group of witches and they curse him. He has amnesia and is found running along Sookie's road one night, naked.
Sookie takes him home once she is satisfied that Eric isn't pulling a fast one and rings Pam to let her know about Eric and find out what's going on. Then the fun begins.
Bill goes to Peru on business. Jason goes missing. Fangtasia is attacked. Adabelle Yancy, #2 in the Shreveport were clan is murdered. Clancy the vampire is drained. The weres, vampires, good witches and shifters band together to fight the bad witches. Bill makes it back in time for the fight but it is Eric who keeps saving Sookie.
It remains to be seen what effect kind Eric will have long term on Sookie, even though he is now back to normal.

I have read my wishlist book but haven't had time to write a review...I intend on finishing that up this weekend.My choice is
for our next shelf.
Since I have a few January challenges to finish up and it's not for the BINGO, I'll probably start this next week. I looked at the list and there are a couple that fit my Feb challenges. Of course, me being me, I may change my mind and read something off the list this weekend after all. LOL. Possibilities:
I'm just over 50% done with
and am enjoying it, but it isn't wowing me. Just don't know if it's me or because it's 42C today and it's been/will be high 30's all week. Apparently this is a 150 yr record. Even with a/c it's pretty unbearable, can't go outside, or do much.

. How funny! AND, I'm feeling the same ... ok, not wow'd though. I think I remember why I haven't yet finished this series. LOL! Oh well. :( Sorry it's so hot. That sucks! Hope you can camp out in front of a fan and hang in until the sun sets.

Great review, Daffodil. I felt the same about Maddy. Especially in the "court". She could've stayed quiet and observed, but nope. Plus, Gabriel seemed to almost encourage it with a his little shaking of his head.
Now that she has more going on than just plugging through her life with Beezle and being an Agent, maybe she will mature over the course of the books.
