We actually had an academic from Newcastle Uni - a very brilliant man - Dr Phillip McIntyre - who filled us in on his research into creativity and cultural production in the Hunter Region. A lot of it went over my head (lol) but he and his wife were there and joined in with chatting and dinner. If you're interested in him and his achievements check: https://www.newcastle.edu.au/profile/...

It was a delightful evening and one I can't wait to repeat at the next one:) Probably around October sometime:)

How have you been coping, Brenda?! It's always good to be able to make your own food rather than reheating supermarket frozen meals or takeaways (well, I think so, anyway - others may disagree!), but it seems especially nice to have something bubbling away on the stove or in the oven on these chilly evenings!

Have you decided what your first meal will be?

From my office (8th floor in a building on top of a big hill) I can see a huge band of black cloud heading towards Sydney from the north. The sky is really dark so there is going to be a lot of rain!

Banished is a British drama television serial created by Jimmy McGovern. The seven-part serial first aired on 5 March 2015 on BBC Two and was inspired by events in the eighteenth century when Britain established a penal colony in Australia.

There has been some controversy about it because of its lack of indigenous characters...in fact none that I can see. That aside, the acting and the cinematography is brilliant.
It is supposed to be a television drama rather than something that acurately reflects history.

Veronica ⭐️ | 2386 comments We have had a bad week this last week. My granddaughter contracted hand foot and mouth on Sunday. She had it quite bad. My son lost his job on Tuesday then his wife had a miscarriage yesterday. It was actually his 30th birthday yesterday my DIL had a lovely weekend away planned in the mountains.
