Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9987 comments I managed a walk OUTSIDE today, as the rain had actually passed. It had been VERY windy here, so decided to hang Mum's washing outside with extra peg reinforcing. All dry now!
And I am about an hour into Hachee in the slow cooker. Wednesday it will be Pea with Ham soup.

Blowing a gale, freezing icy wind and bitterly cold Suzanne! Snowing at the Barrington Tops too! Other than that, it's lovely;)

A shame you can't put it off Suzanne as "they" have said it'll ease then get worse than it is now in a few days!!! Might join Sally in Darwin I think :/

I find it fascinating that 16 is considered "chilly" in Australia. Over here that is a nice day where we could wear capris.

Lol, where Sally lives 16c is nice! In Sydney atm it is 13.5c but with the wind chill factor it feels like 8.6c. The winds are blowing from the snow and are decidedly nippy...unless you find a nice sheltered corner in the sun, then its beautiful! ;)

message 21475: by Tui (new)

Tui Allen (tuibird) | 143 comments So you've all been discussing weather and knitting while I've been so busy I could hardly make it on here. We've had some severe frosts with temperatures of minus four in the mornings and thick ice on the ground. We've been lighting the fire in the mornings some days and keeping it going all day.
The reason Ive been gone so long is getting my WIP finished and off to the assessor in time. It had to be in by the 11th July.
As soon as it was gone I immediately had to do something with wool and for some reason it was pom-poms.I have a little pom-pom maker tool and wanted to use it.
My bloke is an Englishman - (a pom)so I decided to turn him into a "pom-pom pom." He wears black or dark coloured beanies (very dull) so I've been busily putting bright red pom-poms on them. Today I bought some pink wool for a pom-pom for my pink and purple striped beanie

Tui Allen (tuibird) | 143 comments This morning I took my 91 yr old mother for a blast around the nearby roads of the little town she lives in (Te Awamutu) and up and down the main street in the wheelchair. I wrap her up super-warm and away we go. She loves it and flirts with all the blokes she meets. We whip in and around all the wheelchair friendly shops and stop for a coffee at a cafe. She just loves getting outside and seeing everyone's gardens and feeling the wind on her face. Great exercise for me too.
