Sun still shining on Sydney, at least on the northern side. Don't they say the sun shines on the righteous? We must be very good people living here:)

We've had sunshine all day up until about 1/2 hour ago; now it's very overcast, windy and cold!!! So you must be Phrynne;)

All that cooking will keep you warm, Faye!

Yes, my parents sent me a text to tell me. I couldn't believe it! My Mum is about to head back here to the UK next Friday to help us in the final 11 weeks in the lead up to our leaving and she was saying she can't wait to get back here to get some warm weather. I don't think she ever imagined she would say that about England :-)

I had a great time skiing (no broken bones, just one large bruise) and have made great improvement in my skiing, but have brought home a cold as a souvenir :-/

I usually knit during winter but haven't done any this year. My children won't wear knitted jumpers anymore so I just knit squares for knit a square.

Nice you're home with no broken bones Kathryn; bad luck about the cold:( But so good you had lots of fun!!! Those temperatures are terrible!!! Good for snow but that's about it!

Perfect for scraps Carolyn because the more colourful the better. I use my 100% wool scraps for this as these are highly needed due to being fire retardant.

It was fun to have some proper winter and a chance to wear my warmest clothes - they don't get much of an outing here! Now I'm keen to go back - but probably not next year... Maybe the year after.
I kept an eye on GR while I was away, but was too exhausted/busy of an evening to post!! I just scanned the new posts.

Yes it has Marianne, trouble is the kids walked in and said "Yum I am hungry Mum".

LOL! I can do without a "proper winter" Kathryn:) A not too chilly winter is fine by me;) But I'm really pleased you had a great time and are keen to go back!

That sounds great, Veronica! I'm crocheting a blanket at the moment that I don't already have plans for, so unless someone I know has a baby as I'm finishing it up, I will probably end up giving it to my church or the Knitting for the Needy group to give to someone. I crochet in summer as well, but it's nice to have a larger project that covers your knees when it's winter!! What I should do is crochet little individual squares in summer and then join them all together come winter!!

You can also listen to audiobooks while you're knitting, Carolyn!!
I think I might be becoming an old lady - if I know I'm going to be sitting around chatting to friends, I'll sometimes take my crocheting along with me!

Won't be long and we will be complaining how hot it is. Can't we just have a perpetual spring :p

That sounds like a perfect idea. Makes me want to get my knitting out now. Haven't tried knitting and reading. Shouldn't be too hard ;)

I agree - Autumn or Spring would be my choice every time!

That thought occurred to me this afternoon! I can't knit and read but could organise myself to listen to audiobooks.

A friend recently knitted me a short button scarf similar to one of these:

Mine is similar to the 2nd in the first row..black one.
It is so warm and has a lovely big button on it, and not too cumbersome! :D

It looks lovely, Julie! How nice of your friend!

That's lovely Julie. Very smart! What a nice friend you have.

That's such a shame Phrynne - so much work, but also funny! Did you get a photo?
I only once knitted my DH a jumper. It had a fancy stitch which was a real pain to knit but it turned out about two sizes too small and never got worn. Now I stick to babies jumpers - they will always fit at some stage!

That isn't too bad. You killed three birds with one stone lol. It is only problematic if all three want to go to different places :p

Oh Suzanne!! I wondered where you had got to and put it down to school holidays! So sorry to hear about you all being so sick :( am sending lots of healing thoughts and prayers for a quick recovery for you all! Take care and don't try to plan another party yet, you can always have it later, I'm sure they would understand. **Hugs**

Insist on a huge doggy bag to assist in your recovery! ;)

I haven't been around much of late as not only school holidays, but our house went on the market last month, so kept busy cleaning and tidying (we sold it!), and will busy packing and renovating where we are moving to (18 acres - can't wait for the serenity!)
So sorry for snubbing you all, however I will probably also be snubbing for the next couple of months as well. Will try to duck on when I can :)

Near Barrington Tops Regina? Just a guess.. It's gorgeous country isn't it?
How lovely for you to be moving onto acres...oh the gardening I could do!! All the best for your future there :)

Priceless. Warped but funny. :)

Fingers crossed for August!"
That's excellent news, Marianne. Toes crossed, too.

Congrats, Melissa! That's awesome.

Funnily enough, it's not that cold here. It's cold but not bitterly so like it has been in other places. Still too cold for picnicking, though. :)

A t-shirt when it's only 13C!? You must be made of tough stuff. :)

It is gorgeous country at Barrington Tops, however we are a couple of hours away, but close enough for day trip :)

LOL, the mind boggles. :D

Oh, how awful for you all. I hope you'll be feeling 100% again very soon. Take care. x
