Deb Omnivorous Reader | 1929 comments On the bright side Sally - most of the skin cancers (other than melanoma, which you don't have) tend not to metastasise, so it is great that it has been excised while small.

In terms of work supporting one's hobby: yesterday was payday so this morning I shoot out of bed to the computer and hop straight on to Abebooks to purchase the books I have been craving! Yes, there are bills to pay (aren't there always?) but the book buying came first.

Congratulations on your daughter's engagement, Sally! Hope your arm heals quickly - and this is a case where it is definitely better out than in!

Kelly Higgins | 105 comments Sally make sure your results say that it was completely removed. Mine are on my face. I have had 4 excisions in about 5 months. I have two different types of skin cancers but have had 2 basal cell carcinomas and 1 solar keratosis, I get the pathology of 1 recent removal today. The first biopsy I had still had remnants (which meant it was too large because they only take out a specific amount to test for a biopsy). Recently I had the rest taken out by a plastic surgeon, but it was a lot larger than I expected which means some may have grown back. Here's hoping you only stay on a total of 1.

This has nothing to do with anything but ... I did get a good chuckle out of this Koala roaming through a hospital - I have never seen them walk around before, it was a bit funny.

Glad that alert doctor got it all out. I had one recently on my neck and doc was quick to cut it out. Like yours, all good now.

Glad you got your mole checked and sorted out. That's lovely your daughter is getting married. So exciting for you and you're definitely allowed to shed a tear. I get teary with some things and don't even know the person a lot of the time. I'm feeling it now!

Something about adding GST to our overseas purchases, but hopefully it won't apply to the really small stuff. The Government has been talking about it for ages but it now appears really likely

Ouch - poor you - I can certainly say I know how it feels :)

Thanks for the advice I will do that - my follow up session is end of next week.

Funny thing is I have never been a sunbunny - as a teen I avoided the beach like the plague in the summer even though I lived across the road from a top surfing beach.

always been a shade seeker

You and me both Sally. I have been to the beach more since living here than I had in the rest of my life. The reason is I can swim and then go home, none of this sun baking for me.

Instead of spreading on your Vegemite after you've toasted and buttered your bread, you spread it on the bread first, then toast it, then butter it. Yum! (Tip: Spread it on thinly or you'll end up with Vegemite stuck in your toaster.)

Mexican cooking actually uses a lot of chocolate in sauces and such - it is quite good. However, Vegemite and chocolate ... just should not be together lol.
