Suz | 4439 comments Great pic Brenda, thanks for putting it up for us. Of course I have a few of her books on my shelf.. to get to them is the thing!

I've been half listening to Richard Fidler's conversations on ABC radio, thinking what an interesting well spoken lady.. turns out it's Kate Grenville. Very interesting! I know Marianne got to meet her at her launch, it's well worth locating the podcast I'd say.

Jülie ☼♄  (jlie) | 6581 comments I have a question about read counts, I am slowly working my way through a series The Poppet and the Lune which happens to be the complete series in one kindle book/audio, ie; 6 editions in one.
My question is: how will it look on my read count at the end? I'm thinking probably one book as they are all in one?

Should I mark them off individually?

If they are also listed as individual books Jools, I would mark them off one at a time on those - otherwise yes, the kindle one you're reading will count as one book only if you mark it as such.

Yes, this is the link for the complete series: The Poppet and the Lune, when I started reading it was the only link available, now the individual books have been listed as well.

Neko This morning i woke to the news of 10 thousand people without power here! Out on the roads you could see the high winds damage...We thankfully were lucky n just had dimming of the lights over night and a broken letter box!

Then for some relief work i spent the morning in a park with lots of kindy kids..The weather couldn't make up its mind if it wanted to rain or not..But overall I'd say the kids had a blast..Was happy to come home to a warm house n coffee tho!! lol

message 19423: by Neko (new)

Neko I'm all safe but i know people who had their fence partly blow away n something electrical happened to someone else.

Don't think anyone properly slept last night by the talks that were had by parents this morning.

It's meant to last all week which is pest. And there was a nice dumping of snow on the Mt too! Brrrrr!!

Nah, wind/rain can hype up kids more actually lol

Liam || Books 'n Beards (madbird) As someone who used to work in childcarey stuff, usually bad weather is when they want to go outside. Little idiots the lot of them.

Neko That's no good Brenda :/ Hopefully inroads are being made tho! It's quite scary to know how all can be destroyed in the blink of an eye :/

Lol, yeah, Liam you're correct..They usually want too..Noticed that over the years myself...Especially last year when we had this massive hailstorm. However, it was an amazing hailstorm though.

I like going out in thunderstorms...lol Must still be a child at heart then ;)

Kathryn | 3569 comments I won a double pass to an advance screening of A Royal Night Out which was on this evening. Such a funny movie, however I suspect that if the Queen decides to watch it, she may not be amused! But I certainly was!

Yes, it was an interesting perspective, but I don't think it is based on any actual events. More of a "what if" kind of scenario.

Sally906 | 89 comments Had an interesting day yesterday. I have had this freckle/mole on my arm for years. Various doctors have checked it and said it is fine so not too concerned. two weeks ago had my flu shot and saw a new doctor - she pounced on the freckle and said she didn't like the looks of that lets cut it out. So we did. Went back for my results yesterday and it was skin cancer - not melanoma - it was all contained so they got it out BUT appaerently the recomendation is than 10mm of good flesh is chopped off as well and she had mostly done that but was only 2mm on one side - so more chopping was done late yesterday. I am pleased they got it - but boy oh boy am I sore today. Lucky it's my left arm not my right!

There is good news though - our oldest daughter is getting married - after living with her husband to be for 16 years and having 2 kids - they think that now is the time. She picked me up from the doctors and went off for wedding dress trying on - and the very first one she tried on she fell in love with. I have to confess this mum shed a tear - goodness only knows what I will be like at the wedding if I can't even get through a dress fitting!

Congratulations to your daughter and fiance! How exciting :) Yes you will be emotional but that's what we're meant to be isn't it? ;) When is the wedding?
