(pouting) Ok Mel, how did you get a copy already? Its not due to release until the 24th. And yes, it IS pre-ordered because I too love Nucking Futs Nix--and the Woedes and the Wrothes and. . .

You see Ann, the downside of living in Holland is that all my books are more expensive than your books in the States. Also: I don't have luxury of getting English UF books in the library.

The upside, however, is that my American Book Center somehow has direct delivery from publishers (or something along that idea). Which has has put me in the position several times of getting a book early. Way early. I got Lover Mine three weeks early for instance.

And this one too :)

Mel: Did you get an advanced copy of Demon from the Dark? Or did they release it early?

Nicole, no it's not an ARC. I have the advantage of living near a bookstore that sometimes has early copies. Something with direct lines to publishers (so they don't necessarily keep to a publishing date). I've gotten several books upto 3 weeks early.
It's in Holland though :)

I finished Hunter's Prayer (Jill Kismet, Hunter #2) by Lilith Saintcrow (★★★) a few nights ago. This is an urban fantasy series that follows a bad-ass "hunter" named Jill Kismet. Hunters are humans who aren't afraid to tangle with the underworld, the darkside of crime. They work with local law agencies to solve any crimes involving "other" - which in this book is mostly monsters and demons called "hellbreed".

In this particular book, Jill and her lover/partner, Saul are on the case of a murder involving dead prostitutes. IMO, what continues to make this series interesting is Jill's evolving relationship with a particular Hellbreed named Perry. We know Perry wants Jill, but we aren't entirely sure for what. I personally don't like Jill much, but it's for Perry that I'll probably continue reading the series.
