What do you think of the Left Behind series? I have read them some time back and I loved them. Very scary if you think about it. I understand they are fiction but what is really going to happen in the end times?

message 1602: by Tracy (new)

Tracy Currently I am reading Twilight Eyes and American Psycho.

It really IS spectacular, isn't it?

Kathy (bookgoddess1969) | 665 comments That's great Dustin! What's next? :)

message 1611: by Dustin (new)

Dustin Um, I'm still working on The Pillars of The Earth..
Thank you for asking.:)

message 1612: by Kathy (new)

Kathy (bookgoddess1969) | 665 comments Don't forget...it took me a year and a half to make it through Les Miserables....so how long it takes doesn't matter! Just enjoy the book! :)

message 1613: by Dustin (new)

Dustin I am enjoying it, Kathy.
I'm just not used to a book taking me so very long to finish. I used to reading an average of about 300 pages a week. At that rate, I should have been done in roughly 3 weeks...a month, tops.
I'm sure you can see why I'm so frustrated, right?

message 1614: by Kathy (new)

Kathy (bookgoddess1969) | 665 comments I do. Just don't beat yourself up about it. :)

message 1615: by Dani (new)

Dani Landry (danilandry) Nah, as long as you are enjoying it! Although, it is a rather tough read, isn't it?

message 1616: by Dustin (new)

Dustin Dani wrote: "Nah, as long as you are enjoying it! Although, it is a rather tough read, isn't it?"

No, not really. I mean, it is long, but the story isn't all that intricate or anything..

message 1617: by Kathy (new)

Kathy (bookgoddess1969) | 665 comments Sometimes, I think you just need a "vacation" from big books like that. You enjoy them, but you just need to take a break here and there. That's the way I was with Moby Dick and Les Miserables. I enjoyed them, but I enjoyed them even more when I could step away when I needed to. If that makes any sense. :\

message 1618: by Dustin (new)

Dustin It does make sense, Kathy, and I know what you mean. With Moby-Dick, for instance, I'd take a break after awhile and then come back to it. The same goes for Dickens' Bleak House. But in complete earnestness, I really think I'd be enjoying Pillars much more if I'd just get it over with!

message 1619: by Kathy (new)

Kathy (bookgoddess1969) | 665 comments Gotcha. I understand, Dustin.

Dani Landry (danilandry) My daughter loved the series and is eagerly awaiting Inheritance. As soon as I finish Outlander I will start Eragon. I read a few pages of DD's and liked what I read.

message 1630: by Tracy (new)

Tracy I loved Eragon as well, read all three and they are coming out with a new book soon.

Michaela (93diagonalley) | 5 comments Hi all! Right now I'm about halfway through Needful Things, and I'm really enjoying it. I've got a few other SK books lined up but I'm not sure if I should alternate them with other books... Guess I have some time to decide! =)

Donna (donnaenden) | 53 comments I have just started reading "The Gunslinger" The Dark Tower #1. The start of the book at first was really confusing becaues I had no idea what was going on. I am about 100 pages into the book and I am catching on now and can follow what is going on but man the first 20-25 pages I was so confused lol. I am hoping that I will be able to follow along now and be able to continue with the dark tower books.

Hi, Courtney!

It's great to hear that you feel so highly about The Dead Zone (which, BTW, I think is-by far-easily one of SK's best!!)

message 1641: by Jason (new)

Jason Slovak (joeysdad) | 5 comments I'm reading A Game of Thrones right now and I'll be going right into A Clash of Kings next. I like this book SO much more than I thought I would.

message 1642: by Michelle (new)

Michelle | 47 comments Read Mile 81 to take a small break from Usher's Passing by McCammon ... both great reads. Currently reading Fool Moon book 2 of the Dresden Files. Not sure what lies up ahead ... maybe Contagion by Robin Cook or Sleepy Head by Mark Billingham.

message 1643: by Dustin (new)

Alondra Miller Donna wrote, "I have just started reading "The Gunslinger" The Dark Tower #1. The start of the book at first was really confusing becaues I had no idea what was going on."

Neither did Stephen King, he admits to partaking of 'favors' during the writing of this book. It does eventually make sense to the sober reader. By the time you hit your stride with the book, you understand the chase a little better. I agree that the series really catches its flow and gets better and bettr with each book. The Waste Lands was my favorite :)

message 1646: by Andrew (new)

Andrew My wife likes Waste Lands the best as well. My favorite was "Wizard and Glass."

message 1647: by Alondra (new)

Alondra Miller Wizard and Glass was awesome too... the last book had me in disbelief though, and quite upset. :(

message 1648: by Andrew (new)

Andrew Haha! I never saw it coming, either, though I definitely saw how necessary it was. Not the ending I expected, but brilliant all the same.

message 1649: by Alondra (new)

message 1650: by Bondama (new)
