Glass houses was ok. It was an interesting after reading so many "vampires are dangerous, but sexy and the best lovers" type books, it was different getting used to the "vampires are bad guys" type. But I did enjoy it and will probably read the rest of the series at some point.

Lily--do you have the rest of the Hawk and Fisher books? There are, I believe a total of 8. The first one is totally different from the others, and was actually written AFTER the first 3 or 4. It was still good, but it was a totally different, almost "traditional" to a great degree, fairy tale.

I actually enjoyed all of the others much more than that first one. But then again, I'd read the main body of the work before I found the first one, and so I knew a good bit of what was occurring ahead of time. Something which I have always found unsatisfying.

1.Lion's Heat (Breed #21/Feline #13) by Lora Leigh - 5/12 - ★★★1/2 - Finally! Jonas' story! The series arc continues with more trouble from Bradenmore, but this book focuses mainly on Jonas and his mate & assistant, Rachel - not to mention her 3 month old child. A baby in the story is an interesting twist that I enjoyed a lot. Although how the baby never wakes up during the intimate moments (the way my baby always does) I'll never know.

Martina, just wanted to say I agree about Jim Butcher. I'm usually put off by male paranormal authors, but I read one of his Dresdan short stores in a collaborative book, and very much enjoyed his writing. So far I've only read his first book and a few short stories that were mixed with other shorts, but all were very enjoyable. May just have to suck it up and try some other male authors :)

I read Blue Moon Rising well before starting the Hawk & Fisher series and never connected they were the same characters until I read about it somewhere years later(to save some face, they do change their names). They eventually went back in Beyond the Blue Moon. It is a good fantasy series.

Did you ever read Blood and Honor? It is a stand-alone story set in the same world as Blue Moon Rising.

Jessica, one of the only other male authors I've liked is Jes Battis. He writes the UF OSI series. You might want to give him a try. Other than that I'm fresh out male authors who I like.

I have read Blue Moon Rising and Hawk and Fisher. I look forward to the rest. I would not have made the connection between the two except Ann mentioned that that was the first in the Hawk and Fisher series back when I read BMR. Still when I was reading H&F, they didn't seem that connected.
