THE WORLD WAR TWO GROUP discussion
Introduction to the WW2 Site - Please Say Hi

Hallo Colin, Sorry, but I had not heard of The Star of Africa but it looks good: The Star of Africa: The Story of Hans Marseille, the Rogue Luftwaffe Ace Who Dominated the WWII Skies. I confess, since completing the Caldwell manuscript in 2005 (published 2006) I have wandered from the north African theatre and have not yet returned!
Hi everyone, I am new to the group. I have been adding to my books list and history especially WW2 are areas that I have dedicated a lot of time and reading towards.

Hi Lewis and welcome to the group, I am sure you will have a fun time here discussing good books and authors with the rest of the members.
Welcome Lewis - you've come to the right place to find books to add books to any list = your TBR list is going to explode :)

Hi AllI'm Michael. I have read a lot on WWII over the years, particularly on the personalities Churchill, Roosevelt, de Gaulle, and of course the more evil ones.
I am from Montreal/Canada
And now will take a bit of time to explore this site!

Hi, Michael,
I am glad you followed my invitation and joined this group. I guarantee you'll like it here.
Btw, I hope you like wine. Most people here are wine drinkers. :-)

Nothing like a glass of wine, listening to good music and reading a book
Welcome Tom, feel free to jump right into the group discussions. Your personal connection to WWII is sure to bring an interesting perspective.

Lilo: I object. I drink copious amounts of beer (Guinness and Stella Artois preferred), plentiful wines (both red and white) and lots of bourbon and rye.

Welcome Tom and please feel free to join in.
Hi Tom and welcome to the group, I hope you enjoy yourself here and find lots of new books and interesting topics. And for those interested the wine cellar has been re-stocked but I now have a bigger padlock on the door!
Shhh, don't mention that, he is still putting the books back in order, from when I arranged them in reverse alphabetical order. happy wrote: "I don't think AR's wine celler has recovered from last summer:)"
It was the least I could do after finding your Halder War Diaries mixed in with Alanbrook's. No one should be so cruel as to put all the diaries in the same place it makes ones head spin. LOL. 'Aussie Rick' wrote: "I forgot about that Dj, thanks for reminding me :)"
I'm glad you only visited once then, you should see what I've done with the order of books since you've left!:)

You need to go on another international holiday again for us all to pile in and critique the ordering and latest vintages ;)
Not this time Geevee, got a new security system fitted to the house, should keep the rascals within this group out of my library!
happy wrote: "I don't think AR's wine celler has recovered from last summer:)"@ Mikey B.: FYI: Aussie Rick took a long trip to Europe, last summer, and all these buggers here threatened to raid his wine cellar (in Australia) while he was gone.

Hi, Tom,
Welcome to the group. I feel similar like you do. I am also a latecomer to Goodreads and Amazon. And I also have to force myself to read other topics than WWII (including what lead to it and what came of it).

I don't really know how they bring the wine. You might try e-mailing it. :-)

Nothing like online drinking!
Manray9 has revealed his Southern roots - bourbon and rye!

My preferred bourbon is Elmer T. Lee -- a fine product of the Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky, but I have been known to sip a little Wild Turkey too (a potion known in these parts as "The Dirty Bird"). Buffalo Trace also makes Sazerac Rye. As the international flavor of our GR group shows, little is truly just "national" these days. Wild Turkey is now owned by Campari Group of Milan.
Now I'm way off topic and may be duly chastised by AR!
