Welcome to the group, Elinor. Your book sounds very interesting. I hope to be a bit caught-up with my priority TBRs (i.e., non-fiction Third Reich, WWII, and Holocaust) by the time your book hits the market. I am sure you will inform us on the Author Page when it does.

Hello. My Name is Jonathan. I live in St. Paul Minnesota and have a BA in History and a BS in Accounting. My combination of history and accounting seems to raise lots of questions during job interviews but I enjoy them both very much. While I am no longer able to read as much as I did during college, I seem to keep on accumulating lots of books to read in my free time - whenever that will come.
While my collection of books span from the revolutionary war to current events, the vast majority relate to WWII. I look forward to being a member of this group and discussing my love of history.
Thanks!
Hi Jonathan, a nice mix, accounting and history! Anyhow, welcome to the group, I hope you find a few things of interest here :)

Hello group! Greeting from Quincy MA USA. I am the proud grandson of Lt. Colonel Joseph Roberts who served in the Japanese theater. I see that I am a little late joining here as I have missed your Nov theme read: that is one of the subjects I need to read more about. Looking forward to seeing what you have read.I am currently reading the Rick Atkinson Trilogy and currently I am on The Day of Battle: The War in Sicily and Italy, 1943-1944. What a great series!

Hudson; I read The War in Sicily...not too long ago; what a good job Atkinson does in depicting a W.W.II campaign that doesn't often get the attention of other more familiar theatres of war. I've talked with a few Canadian veterans of the Italian campaign and they confirm my belief that war IS hell.

Hello all. My name is Allie and I am a history book addict :)European History through the ages and American fashion, culture and lifestyles of the 20s-50s is my cup of tea so WW2 (and 1!) fits right in there. Looking forward to any books I can add to that never-ending mountain I call a tbr pile. (Although I tend to glaze over when people start talking machinery or weaponry....much more interested in the actual stories and people involved.) Thanks for letting me join!
Hi Allie, good to see you here, you are in good company since you are a confessed "history book addict". There are a few of us here :)

Right now I am at the point in "Guns at Last Light" where they are taking off for Normandy.....Don't get me wrong, I'm loving the book, but I am pretty familiar with June 6, 1944 at this point. I have already seen some books listed via this group that cover lesser known aspects of the war, looking forward to checking some of them out.
Welcome Allie, feel free to indulge in your habit with the rest of us. We are "hooked on books." Glad you found us.

Hello everyone. I'm new to the group as of yesterday (thanks Rick). I most recently read the second book in Rick Atkinson's trilogy and while I don't have the third installment quite yet, I'm sure I will have it sometime in the next few months.I have read 13 books surrounding the events of WWII. My favorites include Beevor's "Stalingrad", Kershaw's "The End" and Toll's "Pacific Crucible". I have "Enemy at the Gates" in my bookcase, but I haven't cracked it yet because it is a much older book and I'm somewhat worried it will fall apart when I open it.
Looking forward to gaining some more knowledge and discussion in this forum. I'm 36, and live in Texas.
