I am looking forward to reading it. The first in the series was weird and gross at times, but I liked the story's uniqueness. :D

Britski | 39 comments This will be my first challenge and I am looking forward to it. I will create my list and post it in a bit. How do you log what books you read/finished for the challenge? Do we keep score? I know these are probably "duh" questions, but what can I say I've never done this before :)

DarkHeart "Vehngeance" (darkheart) | 737 comments Britski, group updates are posted weekly, so you can either respond back as you read each book, updating your list, or you can just do one post a week with your updates.

No worries. If you look through the March thread, you'll see how everyone does it and then you can decide what suits you. Enjoy the challenge! =)

Britski--remember, we also want to know what you THINK about the books you read. We don't always post (hey, there are a LOT of us doing this challenge, so sometimes we get a little, um, well, side-tracked reading each others posts (cough*I do*cough) but still. . .) Give us a number of stars or just say "I liked/did not like XXXX" That way us nosey Parkers can know if we see a title we haven't read yet and can check it out. :o)

From what I hear "A Hunger Like No Other" jumps right in with the main characters. If you want to know how they met you can read the short story. I read the short story for last month's challange and it is pretty good. If you happen to run across it, I would pick it up but you will not be lost if you dont read it first.

One question about the challenge...do the books on our lists have to be books we haven't read before?

Thanks so much for your quick replies Jaime, Lily, and Yz the Whyz! (Haven't read the rest of the list, so thanks to anyone I missed!)

I'm in...and jealous that many of you can get your hands on some of the new releases so early! So, scanning my list of books coming in April & May (re-read the book before the new May book), and revisiting some old ones I haven't seen in awhile...here's my list (with spaces for some new series after looking at everyone else's lists!)

1. Silver Borne (Mercedes Thompson #5)by Patricia Briggs
2. Lion's Heat (Breeds #20) by Lora Leigh
3. Dead and Gone (Sookie Stackhouse #9) by Charlaine Harris
4. Queen of Dragons (Drakon #3) by Shana Abe

10. Jacob (Nightwalkers #1) by Jacquelyn Frank 4/1/10(New book/series for me & finished it today...wasn't so sure about it...some of the dialog bugged me through the first half, but really got into it in the second half. Planning to pick up more in this series!

You can choose re-reads but you have to read the book completely. No skimming or skipping. I dont think there is a limit of how many re-reads per month. I have found so many new books since starting here I havent had time to re-read any of my favorites :)

Judithe,

Pretty much what Jaime said. Rereads are fine, as long as you reread the whole book. No skimming or scanning. No limit on number of rereads.

ൠSinful (sinful) | 118 comments This is a great one for my first challenge... LOOVIN all the new series I see listed that I can go try!!

DONE:
1.Silver Borne (Mercedes Thompson, #5 (enough said!)
2. Wolf Games -wolves of granite lake. This series is crack for me. I am embarrased to be so addicted.
3. Elijah Night walkers, Great series while I sit in a carpool line. Easy, breezy and fun.
4.(or 4-7?)Darkfever, Bloodfever, Faefever, Dreamfever All Four Fever Series-books 1-4 I fell in LOVE with the books and went into a Fever Easter Coma!
5. Spell of the Highlander loved the Highlander books and this was the last one. Her attempt to write another one turned into the Fever Series
6. Succubus Blues I am repulsed by the idea of a succubus. But heck, I loved this book. How she managed to make a slut after my sons' souls for the devil endearing is simply magic.
7. Harmony's Way (Breeds, #8) (Breed's series by Lora Leigh) I liked Megan's Mark Better. Too much sex is..too much. But, I just turned the ten pages until the story moved on.
8. Dead Witch Walking (The Hollows #1) Good, not the phenom I expected but good.
9.(or 9 and 10?) Playing with Fire,Twice as Hotanother surprise for me. Really Loved these. Up all night laughing endlessly. I wonder why it took 4 years for book #2 to come out? I guess LoU is her priority right now.. This is NOT LoU. It is written in the first person/heroine POV. She is a riot! The series ins't about a different romance each time- it is more Mercy Thompson/Urban Fiction in that each one is about her (and yes she does have a hunk of a lover).
10. Wicked Lovely Seriously, I read the prologue twice and never got it. After reading 2 chapters I went back and figured out what was going on. It wasn't until the second half of the book that I 'bit' and enjoyed myself. I did like the book, but would have never hung in there for the satisfaction if it wasn't so popular. I don't have a need to read any more in the series at this point.
11. (or 11-16?)I Burn for You, I Thirst for You, I Hunger for You, Primal Heat (Primes, #5),Primal DesiresPrimal Needs Primes #1-3 were sold as a bundle on kindle. I saw this series on other's lists and decided to check it out. I expected shifters not vampires. I liked how it was a wholey unique way of looking at things. Good stories. Not BDB or LoU but good.
12. Evermore This one I just put down and I am not sure exactly what to say. I thought the idea was really good and parts of the book were really good, but it is so rare that I feel like a book is just plain lacking. I loved Twilight. I should have been able to really get into this, yet The whole concept doesn't even interest me the way she wrote it. Again, the IDEA is wonderful, it may even be personal why I loved the concept, but the exectution wasn't there. Dissappointed.
13. Magic Bites, Magic Burns,Magic Strikes, Must Love Hellhounds I had the first book in this series forever. I mean..FOREVER.. I would pick it up and put it down over and over. Just couldn't get into it at all. Then this challenge came up and the books are on lots of lists. Oh Hell, I am going to muddle my way through this. It has to have some redeaming qualities, right? First a page or two a day. Then three.. Honestly it wasn't until Curran came into the picture and the humor hit in full force that I fell in love. The first third of the book was world building. ew. I had no commitment to care, but once their banter started she had me and I plowed through not only the three books but bit the bullet and bought the anthology with the novella for 3.5 (which has a big curran spoiler at the end!!) It also had the prequel for Nalini Singh's Elena Devereaux series
14. Angels' Blood,Archangel's Kiss Again, I saw this on a few other lists and I happen to love love love Psy changeling so I gave it a try and sadly, here is another series I just flat out adore. I think this lady could write about ingrown toenails and I would read it. Everything moves the story forward. Not overly descriptive. And funny, funny, funny.
15. Some Girls Bite, Friday Night Bites The Chicagoland Vampire series... seriously I never gave this series two thoughts after I read "chicagoland vampires"... lame much? The series title just made it sound like a hokey jokey.. but this is no joke. After seeing the buzz go on and on who am I to not go ahead and sample the ebook for free.. Hooked much? Yep. Hooked, scaled and in the freezer, Chloe Neill has me. She and Kesley Cole are my favorite humor writers now. My side hurt I chuckled so much. I made a spectacle of myself on the airplane laughing outloud uncontrollably. If you liked Gilmore Girls- Well, here you go, same intelligent, witty banter prevails. Total chick lit- smart, snarky, great characters clearly growing, every word is valuable- not an if,and,, or but should be skipped. If they could cast it right, it could be a great series.
16. You Slay Me, Fire Me Up, Light My Fire, Holy Smokes The Guardian Series- I saw this on a number of lists for this group and decided to try it. I give it a B. OK, but not one of my favorite UF books. But, good enough to recommend if someone had already been through my faves. This is very busy fluff. LOTS LOTS LOTS going on.. like mega plots.. and not written with an intellectual style.. very easy, fluffy reading we all enjoy now and then.
TOTALS:
Series-16
Books- 30

Well, after counting my "coming out end of March/first of April" pre-orders--I have 6 that way. Just have to hold off on 2 of the books I have sitting around. Or else find some MORE books that I want to read, since its STILL a week before we can start them, and I don't have the greatest will power when it comes to resisiting the siren lure of books. :oP

I totally understand--I already got some of the books from this challenge at the library and it's totally killing me not to start early!!!
