Yeah, you could feel it where I am. It shook for a really long time.

I read the 1st two in this series but haven't gotten to this one yet, so I went back to see how many stars you gave those. You gave the 1st one 3 stars--so did I. You gave the 2nd one 4 stars--so did I.
So it looks like I'm going to be skipping this one. Thanks for reading it first Annvelwis! Lol.

I'm intrigued enough to read more, but had some trouble keeping all the characters straight. I bet I'll like the next in the series more. "
Marcia--this is one of my top 3 urban fantasy series. The first one has a bit of info dump, but they just keep getting better and better. If you liked the 1st one, you will love the next ones, I promise. :)
And the 4th one, Magic Bleeds, comes out at the end of next month, so you can read the next 2 and not have to be dying to see what happens next like the rest of us. :)

Hey you, zip it. ;) I'll take all the help I can get in weeding the crap from my ever expanding TBR pile. Annvelwis doesn't mind, do ya? :)

TBR pile doesn't seem to be shirnking at all!

LOL, Well I can't say much really cause (eventhough it was partly my idea to do a group re-read of the BDB books) I haven't been doing much reading lately. I've been living of off everybody else's comments, quotes and thoughts from their re-reads :) It's still fun though!

I want to have a more PNR oriented month, so I'm taking out Patricia Briggs, Kelley Armstrong, Ilona Andrews and Ann Aguirre and trading them for Larissa Ione, Colleen Gleason and two non PNR-books by Kresley Cole and Lisa Kleypas (yes I'm going to try actual ROMANCE).
New list:
1. The Rest Falls Away (The Gardella Vampire Chronicals #1) by Colleen Gleason
2. Pleasure Unbound (Demonica #1) by Larissa Ione
3. Secrets of a Summer Night (Wallflowers #1) by Lisa Kleypas
4. If You Dare (MacCarrick Brothers #1) by Kresley Cole
5. Lover Unbound (Black Dagger Brotherhood #5) by J.R. Ward
6. You Slay Me (Aislin Grey #1) by Katie McAllister
7. Slave to Sensation (Psy-Changeling #1) by Nailini Singh
8. Succubus Shadows (Georgina Kincaid #5) by Richelle Mead
9. Blood Brothers (Sign of Seven #1) by Nora Roberts
10. The Hunger Games (Hunger Games #1) by Suzanne Collins

I want to have a more PNR oriented month, so I'm taking out P..."
Ooh is that Ann Aguira book Blue Diablo (or something like that?)

TBR pile doesn't seem to be shirnk..."
Oh but that investment will pay off big time Gem! Don't worry. You could also opt to hold out till the summer of 2011 (*gasp*) till Cassie #5 comes out. But still: I'd want t meet up with Pritkin and Mircea. Oh and you know about the short stories on KC's website right?
And yes, it's Ann Aguire's Blue Diablo. I read it's full on UF and that will be my goal for next month. I'm going to read Kelley Armstrong, the third and fourth Mercy and the second and third Kate Daniels books... if I can fit it into the challenge. Who knows, maybe I could fit a little Karie Marie Moning in it too?
I think Ann Aguirre's series should fit in nicely with my UF list. I'm already liking the book from it just being on my shelf. I got it special delivery from Scotland you know? ;)

TBR..."
Yeah I heard that wee Haggis delivered it! ;)
Well I'm reading Erin McCarthys Fallen just now. Not much in between the sheets action, but still filled with tension!

I am officially throwing out the peer pressure challenge to you to read those damn books--and you better pick up the gauntlet, considering your peer pressure rep around here. :)
Swap out the Gardellas--I read them & they're good, but they're no Kate Daniels. The last few Gardellas are really good, but if I didn't have the rec from Michelle, I wouldn't have finished them cuz the first 2 weren't that great. Lots of boring throughout the book with an awesome crazy finish, just so you'll grab up the next one. At least in my humble little opinion.
Oh, and I wouldn't consider the Gardella's PNR anyway. Maybe UFR, there's some nookie, but the good stuff doesn't happen until the last 2 books.

Well, seriously: I was just telling my sis she had to read the Kate Daniels series! Part of my promo talk was based on my experiences with the first book, the rest on the raving reviews of you and Michelle.
And really: I had the second book in order at bookdepository for months! It was out of stock until 3 weeks ago! I had already ordered #3 by then and I've pre-ordered #4.
I’m not too sure about the Gardella series myself. I figured it would be more UFR but it seemed less UF than the Ann Aguire book so I switched it.
The thing is: I don’t want to be reading too much UF this month cause then I’m in a UF mood and get picky when I don’t like a more simple plot. Okay, I’m going to admit it: I’m just afraid to be underwhelmed by Lover Mine. So I’m just going to read some (PN)R as to not set my expectations too high. The last BDB books have been more PNR/UFR and have been great so I’m expecting this one to be GOOD. And it’s JM, you know: how can it not be great?
And I don’t mean to sound negative about PNR. You know I’m a UF girl at heart but am trying out PNR. But I find it really hard to find books I really like like in that genre. So far only JR Ward and Kresley Cole (cause she combines the silliness with wacky humor).

But if you're looking for a good PNR series, read Nalini Singh's Psy-Changelings. The covers are atrocious, but just ignore them. The only reason I read the first one is I needed a pink cover for a challenge, and it ended up being really good. It's total PNR, but she writes a really good book-to-book political intrigue storyline that keeps us UF girls interested.

I actually started PSY/Changeling but had to put it down to read something else for a challenge. It seemed okay but I was only up to a few chapters.
But the series was on discount on bookdepository and I heard it was very good so I ordered the first three. But I've got good covers:

I am going to list them as I read them. It is easier for me that way.
1) Blood Promise by Richelle Mead (#5 in Vampire Academy Series)
5/5 *****
I have read this several times and I love it. The whole series is great. I can't wait till Spirit Bound comes out.
2) Midnight Awakening by Lara Adrian (#3 in Midnight Breed Series)
5/5 *****
I have loved all of the books so far. This book is about Teagan who is the warrier who is the most withdrawn. It is a great story about love and forgiveness. A most read.
3) Lover Awakened by J.R. Ward (#3 in Black Dagger Brotherhood Series)
5/5 *****
I think this is my favorite one by J.R. Ward. It is about Zsadist. He is the soul who is lost and the darkest of the Brotherhood. He meets Bella and suddenly is feeling all types of emotions he didn't think he would ever feel again.
4) Wake by Lisa McMann (#1 in Dream Chatcher Series)
5/5 *****
I thought this book was great. I can't wait to read the next one in the series. The book is about a girl, Janie, who can travel to other's dreams. She has to learn how to control it and help those in the dream. It is a great love story in the making.
5) A Great and Terrible Beauty by Libba Bray (#1 Gemma Doyle Series)
5/5 *****
I thought this book was great. My only complaint is that the love story wasn't as developed as I would have liked, but I am hoping that the next two books take care of that. Gemma has special powers that allow her to go to different realms. Her friends find out and some of them want to use that power for evil. Gemma can't allow that so she must stand up to her friends or else unleash a terrible evil on the world.
6) Bitten by Kelley Armstrong (#1 Women of the Otherworld)
5/5 *****
This was a great book. I couldn't put it down. I would recommend this book to everyone. Elena has to face her past when she is called home to help out her "family." She has to walk a fine line between the human world and wolf world. She leaves the man she is sharing an apartment with to go to her family and her lover. Great love story and plenty of action along with it

Progress 3/10
1. The Reckoning by Kelly Armstrong (Darkest Powers, #3)

I enjoyed Don't Kill the Messenger. It was a quick, action packed read. And it was interesting to have a heroine who doesn't start out as a skilled kick-ass heroine and watch her develope into one.

Well here's my April Challenge List
1. Destiny Kills (Myth & Magic Series) Book 1 - Keri Arthur
2. Witch Blood (Elemental Witches) Book 2 - Anya Bast
3. Fool Moon (Dresdan Files) Book 2 - Jim Butcher

8. Before I Wake (Nightmare CHronicles) Book 1 - Kathryn Smith
9. How to Marry a Millionaire Vampire (Love at Stake) Book 1 - Kerrelyn Sparks
10. Private Demon (Darkyn) Book 2 - Lynn Viehl

Ok so, I haven't read any off my main list, but I've read an alternate. Not sure which book it will replace yet.
Can anyone tell me if the book Intertwined by Gena Showalter is part of a series. Depends on the site, I'm getting some titles with "Aden Stone Book 1" attached to the record. I was going to read that next, but I need to find out if it actually is a series first. Thanks for the help :)

Hah! No, I don't mind at all. Just try to remember, please, that English isn't my native language so I could miss something truly beautiful and touching and extraordinary in the book... I doubt it, but it might happen, hah.

I struggled pretty hard with this one, true. I have an impression that Abe wasn't sure were she was going with the story. The plot's scrappy at best, the whole conflict humans vs dragons seems rushed and full of inconsistencies. Love story... Well, it might have been main characters fault, but there's only minimum of any kind of chemistry. Still, author bravely attempts a peculiar mix of "love at first sight" ("Oh! She can turn into a dragon no problemo! Awsome! I MUST wed her at once!") and "predestined mates" ("Look, we're both alphas, we don't realy have a choice in the matter. We can kill each other, that's true, but why bother? Let's marry...")
That said, I'll read The Treasure Keeper sometime, if only to check if it was just this book that didn't grab me...

The lates in the Immortals After Dark series finally answered all those vague questions about why Lucia the Archer was doing her best to avoid Garreth MacRieve. Unfortunately, there is a bit of a cliff hanger at the ending, not about THIS couple but about the next book that's going to come out in the series. Sigh, now we will just have to hang on til THAT comes out. I really think we need to clone some of the authors and publishers so that they can get books out FASTER.
