Heidi Perhaps we should return to the original thread topic! What was it again???

message 253: by S (new)

S Bleh, the Bella hate is boring at this point. I wish people moved on and started hating something new.

I'm kind on infatuated with Miles from Torment

I was infatuated with Peeta at some point, now I'm not so sure.

Peep (Pop! Pop!) Heidi I wrote: "Perhaps we should return to the original thread topic! What was it again???"

Yes, or take this discussion to the Twilight thread. I think it's making me crazy :P

Cassi aka Snow White Haggard | 2261 comments Oh I have moved on to really disliking Shiver, hating Witch & Wizard, loving Hunger Games, Loving Iron Fae

It was actually a comment about how could you not love Edward that spawned this whole discussion. Then someone asked a question about why people dislike Bella so much.

People sometimes think that those of us who hate Twilight are lurking in wait to insult it. When someone asks a question we answer. To be honest if people just forgot about Twilight and I didn't have to hear about it again I'd be all the happier....

I was also infatuated wiht Peeta in the first two books, then in the third I was a little put off, but I guess I can understand after what happened....I can't really post more in case someone on this topic hasn't read it yet, but if you have you'll understand.

message 258: by Becca (new)

Becca | 1608 comments I'm completely infatuated with Glibert Blythe at this point. Love so tender...

That's it exactly. Anytime anyone mentions loving anything about Twilight, the haters come out of the closet. It gets old.

Cassi aka Snow White Haggard | 2261 comments That's NOT the case here. Someone asked questions so we answers them honestly. It was a good fair educated discussions.

Don't call us "haters" because when someone asks "Why do people think Bella is weak?" that we answer their question.

message 261: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Well, I guess I can say this; if a book can strike up this much controversy it's made it's niche.

Love it or hate it, it's definitely not going away.

I love Peeta, but too be fair I've only just started Catching Fire. Gale hasn't really been around at all.

message 262: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Becca you are really giving me the itch to rewatch Anne and the sequel!!!!
p.s. I thought I tried to move on from the "series that shall not be named" people!

You called yourself a hater by saying "those of us who hate Twilight". Just sayin'.

message 264: by Tracey (new)

Tracey (mossmonster) | 1 comments Dmitri from the Vampire Academy series.....Yummy
Michael from Morganville Vampires....

message 265: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Heidi bumped the Twilight thread. Maybe you should post that over there so you can continue the debate.

I think he's the most perfect boyfriend in any YA book, well, ANY book, honestly. He's truly flawless and his relationship with Bethany is enviable.

I thought Peeta was a bit...bland throughout the series, but Catching Fire was definitely my favorite of the three! Enjoy!

Cassi aka Snow White Haggard | 2261 comments I do hate Twilight. "Hater" is a different word with different contations. I don't like it when a fair discussion goes down to someone being insulting.

Cassi wrote: "I do hate Twilight. "Hater" is a different word with different contations. I don't like it when a fair discussion goes down to someone being insulting."

I didn't mean it in an insulting way. I always feel like I'm being insulted by those who hate Twilight because I love it. I'm cool with agreeing to disagree. Just ask Heidi. :)

I have to go find the DVD's now. Just finished Anne of the Island and I think Gilbert is such a good, true, strong man and I love every time that he ends up with a good true strong woman. I'll never loose the heartbreak or the magic of this book no matter how many times I read it.

I have to find Windy Poplars on audio if I want to continue the series, but they don't have it free on itunes. Time to hit up the library. Sad because I have been loving this reader.

You're the first person I've seen mention Drizzt, who, by the way, is all kinds of bad-assedness

message 273: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Who is Drizzt?

♡Meme♡Reads love♡ | 68 comments For me:
1. Jace- The Mortal Instruments
2. Dimitri- The Vampire Academy
3. Edward Cullen- Midnight Sun

Ditto, I've never heard of Drizzt? What book is he from?

message 276: by ReeCee (new)

ReeCee | 17 comments Drizzt is an elf featured in the Dark Elf series and several other books by R.A. Salvatore. My brother got me interested about three years ago.

message 277: by Peep (Pop! Pop!) (new)

Peep (Pop! Pop!) Hmmm, I've never heard of those books. I do like the name though!

message 278: by ReeCee (new)

Heidi (yabibliophile) (hmz1505) | 15 comments Gilbert Blythe. He's my dream boy :)

That's where I had heard the name!!! Oh my goodness I was wracking my brain trying to figure out why it was so familiar to me. The books I read with him in them didn't really give me an infatuation with him, but I only read two out of the series and they were far out of order from how they're supposed to be read, but I didn't know it. Interesting, I may have to revisit the series and see if it can hold my attention this time.

message 284: by Heather (new)

Heather McCorkle (heathermccorkle) For me it would have to be Dimitri from the Vampire Academy series. There is just something about a guy with an accent. And it doesn't hurt that he can throw down too!

♡Meme♡Reads love♡ | 68 comments @ Heather I just finished reading the 5th book. I'm in the middle of doing my review. When he jumped in front of all those guardians to protect Rose my heart swelled like he was protecting me instead. That was such an awww moment for me. :)

Same here! I love love love Dimitri. His personality, his accent, his total badass-ness and everything else, too. He's so freakin' awesome and sexy. <333

I know what you mean, that scene totally made the whole of VA #5. I was really mad at Dimitri for being so caring towards Lissa and then making Rose cry, but when he stood up for her in front of the Guardian Police, I totally fell for him all over again.

♡Meme♡Reads love♡ | 68 comments Me too, When he told her love fades mine has too. My heart broke. But then he kept on looking at her like he wanted to eat her up like a cookie I know he still wants her. OMG!!! with the 6th book hurry and get here. :0

message 288: by Dija (new)

Dija The wait's killing me too. Dimitri and Rose have to end up together. I won't accept any other ending. >_<

Melissa Railey Wow, all this talk about Gilbert Blythe has made me want to reread those books. Gilbert was my ideal man for so long. Or at least a combination of Gilbert and Mr. Darcy. I've been known to say more than once that I am totally in love with Ranger from the Stephanie Plum series (not YA).

Roiben is awesome and oh so dreamy.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) It would really rock my world if a random guy popped into this thread and mentioned a couple of girl protags that he found hot/sexy/attractive/interesting.

Doubt that this will happen, since I'm guessing guys will avoid this thread like the plague, but I can dream...
