Gwennie (blessedwannab) That is so funny Stacia because I think that every time I come in here. It would be so awesome if they did. Maybe we should start writing our favorite Girls in so that the door is opened...

Brittany (finally graduated and can once again read for fun) | 1328 comments I have been thinking that too. But as you say, gusy will avoid this like the plague.

message 303: by Ottilie (new)

Ottilie (ottilie_weber) | 484 comments oh I feel better, my friends who borrowed Tithe (The Modern Faerie Tales, #1) by Holly Black from me didn't understand why I like Roiben. Sometimes i really wish the characters(guys) would hop out of the book. it would be interesting to see a guy's point of view, most of my guy friends avoid reading like the plague....i'm trying to think of what interesting female characters there are

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) I haven't read Tithe (yet...I own it), but Kartik is pretty great. I dislike trees now, though...

message 305: by Ottilie (new)

Ottilie (ottilie_weber) | 484 comments Tithe is pretty different Its on my top list, but i totally second not liking trees now...

message 306: by Cristina (new)

Cristina | 2 comments I have a thing for fictional characters but my favorites are:
Edward Cullen
Adrian (Vampire Academy)
Jace (Mortal Instruments)
Legolas (Lord of the Rings)

message 307: by Becca (new)

Becca | 1608 comments Mmmmm Legolas. He didn't quite hit me as sexy until the movies, but man, he is sexy in the books now that I've seen the movies.

Yeah, that's when it all started for me too :)

message 309: by Ottilie (new)

Ottilie (ottilie_weber) | 484 comments Edward Cullen is a little too whinny for me, i need a little more testerone in a guy.

message 310: by Kara (new)

Kara Anderson Jace from Mortal Instruments for sure!
And now Will from the prequel!
I guess they remind me of Darcy, seem to be bad boys with attitude, but deep down, truly and wonderfully good :) No one... ever...will top Darcy.

♡Meme♡Reads love♡ | 68 comments What book is Gilbert Blythe and Darcy from?

message 312: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Gilbert is from Anne of Green Gables and Mr. Darcy is from Pride & Prejudice. You must got out now and read both books!

♡Meme♡Reads love♡ | 68 comments I can't believe I forgot about them I've read and watched all of Green Gables never read Pride & Prejudice. Just watched only the movies.
Loved Gilbert, not too sure about Darcy but I won't judge since I don't know the book Darcy yet. Is he better in the books?

Thank you Heidi

message 314: by Heidi (new)

Heidi If you watched the BBC/A&E Pride & Prejudice with Colin Firth and you still don't love Mr. Darcy you have a heart of stone! I did not like the P & P adaptation with Keira Knightley mostly because she overacts and annoys me! I can't believe you forgot about Gilbert! *sigh*

message 315: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Well if we are talking about book characters we fell in love with because of the movies, I must add John Thornton, (actor Richard Armitage), from North and South. He makes my heart go pitter patter (and we wonder why no males post on this thread!)

message 316: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) I haven't read P&P yet, but I have it to read. It's on my 'Challenge' list, (That and Jane Eyre). I do love Gilbert though!

message 317: by Heidi (new)

Heidi I liked P & P a lot more than Jane Eyre, but they are both good classics to read :)

message 318: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Most people rave about P&P so I'm more excited to read that one.

Jane Eyre is my Grandma's favorite book of all time. She gave me the copy my Grandpa gifted her when they first started dating. He's passed away now and was like a father to me, so not only am I going to cherish it forever, I gotta at least make sure to read it, haha.

That is so sweet Wendy and an ever better reason to read it!

message 320: by Ottilie (new)

Ottilie (ottilie_weber) | 484 comments i'm currently reading p&p

♡Meme♡Reads love♡ | 68 comments Well I'm putting P&P on my challenge reads list now. :)
I watch the one with Keira and did not fancy him on that one he was just way to stiff my taste . Haven't seen the one with Colin Firth I'm gonna have to request that one from my Library.

message 322: by Roshini (new)

Roshini Has anyone read Willow by Julia Hoban ? Guy from that book is pretty great.

Yes! Colin Firth is my man!

Brittany (finally graduated and can once again read for fun) | 1328 comments I have to go with Heidi on this. Colin Firth is definitely THE DARCY! But you should read the book first. And after you watch the BBC version, then you should pick up Bridget Jones' Diary and read how she references the Colin Firth version of P&P. Bridget writes what we all know to be true of Colin Firth's Darcy.

message 325: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Funny that she references Colin Firth's Mr. Darcy, and then he plays the Bridget Jones Diary 'Mr. Darcy' in the the movie.

I love Colin Firth.

message 326: by Peep (Pop! Pop!) (new)

Peep (Pop! Pop!) What was that other P&P miniseries that we liked Heidi? I can't think of that name. That was a fun take on P&P, though you might want to watch the good ones before you watch that one. It's longer because it was a miniseries.

message 327: by Becca (new)

Becca | 1608 comments Colin Firth is the only Mr. Darcy. So brooding and sexy.

message 328: by Becca (new)

Becca | 1608 comments Roshini wrote: "Has anyone read Willow by Julia Hoban? Guy from that book is pretty great."

I have Willow on my tbr pile, but I probably won't get to it for a while. I'm looking forward to it if the guy in it is worth infatuation :D

♡Meme♡Reads love♡ | 68 comments Willow sounds like a very good story to read I put it on my to-read pile as well.

message 330: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (peanutty222) | 529 comments The guy's name is "Guy" in Willow
*Snicker snicker*
Yeah, yeah, I'm immature.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) That has to be one of the worst names ever. That and Chuck.

message 332: by Ottilie (new)

Ottilie (ottilie_weber) | 484 comments I second that...

message 333: by Becca (new)

Becca | 1608 comments And I third. Why would you name your child that or something that would give them that as a nickname? That's child cruelty.

message 334: by Ottilie (new)

Ottilie (ottilie_weber) | 484 comments why do people name their child appple?

message 335: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Peep are you talking about Lost in Austen??

message 336: by Peep (Pop! Pop!) (new)

Peep (Pop! Pop!) Yep! That's the one, I don't know why I couldn't remember that.

message 337: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (snugshelf) I recently got Willow for a dollar cause the outside cover (dust cover I think it's called) was gone from the hardback. :) So. Happy. It's the little things. :D Glad to hear Guy might be a new fictional boyfriend for me hahah.

message 338: by Roshini (new)

Roshini Hope you guys get to it soon, so I'm not the only one with a thing for the guy named Guy.

message 339: by Ottilie (new)

Ottilie (ottilie_weber) | 484 comments i just keep thinking of the movie 'never been kissed' when i hear that name

message 340: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Thats what I think of too, haha.

message 341: by Traci (new)

Traci so I haven't finished the book yet, but I think I'm going to have to add Graves from Strange Angels... I'm really loving him.

message 342: by Amanda (new)

Hmmmmm...How far are you in the series. I have a serious infatuation with Christophe after Jealousy.

message 343: by Traci (new)

Traci I'm only in the middle of the first.. but I'll definitely be picking up the others. :)

message 344: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca | 97 comments Valek from Poison Study (Study, #1) by Maria V. Snyder and Adrian from Vampire Academy (Vampire Academy, #1) by Richelle Mead

message 347: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Now that I am done with the book, I have to add Jonah Griggs from On the Jellicoe Road.

message 348: by Traci (new)

Traci YES! I completely second Jonah :D

message 349: by Heidi (new)
