The Bronze Horseman discussion
What are you currently reading?

I just finished The Book Thief. It was really good. I didn't enjoy the narration at first. It took me awhile to get into, but eventually, once I did, it hooked me. I can't remember the last time that I cried so much though. It tugged at my heart and I can't stop thinking about it.
I need a love story next though. I was thinking of starting Into the Wilderness. Anybody read that?

It is an enjoyable read if you do not expect it to be as great as TBH.

Milena wrote: "Toni, I just finished reading the Queen of Camelot and overall I thought it was a good book. I gave it 4 stars, but 3.5 stars would be more accurate. I really liked the premise, the history and the..."
Jessica and Milena-Thank you so very much for responding to me on Queen of Camelot. I had heard about it here and there, but never anything concrete. TBH and Outlander were an absolute blessing and a hideous curse! Reading them was unadulterated bliss, but now I am tainted! I find it funny that all of us (myself definitely included) rate every book with the final sentence....of course not as good as TBH or Outlander. I can't wait til one day myself or someone else says x book Was as good as TBH/Outlander. I don't hold my breath, but I do HOPE to find something as good some day..some year!
You both gave a bit of a different review but I love that, makes me think and makes it more in depth and I SOOO appreciate that you gave me background about your likes/dislikes. I'm going to look into it definitely, but you did put it in perspective that if I do read it (I will likely put it on my to-read list even if I don't get it right away) I don't look for it to be the next TBH. That helps, for when I go into a book with that high hope I inevitably feel cheated.
Thanks soo much girls..you're awesome ;)

Thanks for the love.... it is probably summer and we all do need to find a new and amazing hero/heroine!!
:)

Might be the summer and people are just busy. I personally have not been as active in this group because it's so focused on TBH that for me it just get's to be the same old thing...
That being said, I'm doing a buddy read with a few friends and we are reading

I'd really like to read this but I can't get it on Kindle and I haven't seen it in our shops at all. I might have to order it from the Book Depository... I am interested in reading the thoughts of an Author who uses her alter-ego as her published name, borrows Claire and Jamie (I think) and then goes on to call Outlander fans as rabid! Interesting lady!!!

I need a kindle. I managed to find all the books in the series at the library.

Donati only mentions J & C for less than and page and it's just enough to make you smile :)
I'm currently reading Then Came You and I have to say it's a little slow but I think it's just character building. I plan on starting this for a buddy read Aug 1st... A Lady's Lesson in Scandal

Kelly, enjoy TSG. I enjoyed that book the first time but love it more and more with each reread.

Hildy - enjoy the Wilderness Series, I just loved it!
I do miss getting books from the Library. I just take the kids because I just love the smell and people there :)
Milena, I have had that Juliet book on my TBR list forever, can't wait to read your review.

Jessica- I am sooooooooooo glad you are liking Roses. It is really good!! I enjoyed it a lot so I am so glad that someone picked it up. It's a great love story..all the elements. You know I read it a long time ago so I don't actually recall the exact ending. I know the general way it ended but even if I did remeber it exactly I wouldn't tell you Jessica!!! LOL. And you wouldn't want me too...keep reading you will NOT be disappointed. The whole book from beginning to end is good. I had my favorite characters for sure, but it is a really good read. Again, so glad you are enjoying it and if you want to discuss it a little when you are done I will peruse the book. I just need to skim it for 15 minutes and I will remember it all. That is how much I loved it BUT I read sooo many books a month even the best need a good skim if I read it that long ago (perhaps TBH won't). Enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Leea I super appreciate you letting me know this. Ironically I just asked a goodreads friend (from this site---you know who you are LOL) to do a read together, but it is great to know this can be done as you pointed out. I'm going to get on it. Maybe I can find something a group can read. Thanks again!!!!!
Actually Leea, you are good at this stuff and you may know the answer to this. I think you were the one that turned a lot of us onto the netgalley.com thing with The Wild Rose. I went there and got a few books okayed but now I cannot read them. It says download adobe netedition (my husband bought a kindle to read annual reports for his hedgefun but it away to a friend when I said I'd NEVER EVER read off a computer screen and protested that to enjoy a book you have to read it old-style in paper form. What a DUMB thing to do. Now I've got no kindle!!! Unless I buy a new one-and let my husand say I told you so LOL-I can't figure out how to read these netgalley books. Do you have any idea?? Thanks!!

I say get yourself a Kindle but i'm a trouble maker :) Also, feel free to ask me more questions as they come up.
Glad you are going a buddy read, those are a lot of fun. You can always start a thread and others might want to join you. What are you going to read?

The book was definitely well written and am looking forward to reading The Winter Rose.
Before I start on a new journey with The Outlander, I thought I should give fey another go with Lust (Sins and Virtues, #1) by Charlotte Featherstone, which I hope is as good as the two other reads I have of hers ;)
I really enjoyed the winter rose and the wild rose. You'll love Putlander and I hope you like Lust, Chrissy! :)

The book was definitely well written and am looking forward ..."
Same here with Tea Rose!! The Winter Rose is even better, can't wait for the Wild Rose! Outlander is WONDERFUL, so worth the journey. In my opinion, Lust was ok, but not as good as Addicted or Sinful. Love those two!!

Megan I've literally only just started Oranges and Sunshine, I'm only a few pages in! I'll let you know once I've gotten further through it. It looks like it will be great, though very sad! I haven't seen the movie, have you? I always try and read the book first (as they're usually better!)
