UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments I finished up The Gentleman and the Rogue by Bonnie Dee a m/m historical romance which was really good. Great characters and a good subplot.

I'm now reading Skin Game (Skin, #1) by Ava Gray . I think I'll avoid historicals until Love in the Afternoon comes out.

Alycia | 1478 comments I just started Her Ladyship's Companion by Evangeline Collins and am loving it so far! I needed a good HR. My last few were only so-so. This one makes me want to read more and not take a break from HR anymore.

LOL, I just picked up on Esme. I did pick up on Bella, but its a popular name right now. In fact, I was with a friend and bought this book, I have wanted to read it. I read the back cover and said "not another Bella."

Esme is Bella's fun and slightly devious french cousin. So this Esme is different. And so is Bella for that matter :)
I think you will like this one Bekah. Let me know what you think of it when you do read it.

Carolyn F. I finished Lament The Faerie Queen's Deception (Books of Faerie, #1) by Maggie Stiefvater and am now reading Real Men Last All Night (Includes Lexi Steele, #1.5; Wounded Warriors, #1) by Lora Leigh .

Suzanne (Under the Covers Book blog) | 630 comments I just finished The Lion's Lady, which I really enjoyed, although I don't think that it is Julie Garwoods best, and I am now reading First Comes Marriage, which I am not really that into. I don't really like the hero that much, although he doesn't really have that much of a "prescense" if you know what I mean, even though he is supposed to be all broody, he is just coming off all sulky and annoying!

The romance and action is good in all of the series but she really pours it on in this last one.

message 719: by Amar (new)

Amar | 118 comments Suzanne, I just got in Mary Balogh and my first book of hers was First Comes Marriage...I liked it for some reason (though it's into my usual style and yes, the hero is tough to like), really liked the overall series actually. Now I'm reading her Bedwyn family series.

Suzanne (Under the Covers Book blog) | 630 comments I finished First Comes Marriage, it is also my first book from her. I didn't like it that much, I didn't think it was awful (gave it 3*s) and I will read on as I liked the other characters. I just found the main two a bit annoying and the romance didn't really come through for me. I have heard that her Bedwyn series is better so I may give those a go aswell.

Alex and Daniel are half brothers. At the end of Chapter 5 (page 109) Alex takes Daniel by the hand and leads him to the bed saying "Time for dwelling on other things, my dear." Then "Halting by the side of the sumptuous bed, Alex turned and went into Daniel's arms."

In the previous books I recall them only acting like siblings nothing that indicated another type of relationship. Did I miss something?

I loved Ravishing in Red! I hope you enjoy it Carolyn. I liked Provacative in Pearls as well, but RIR more. :) Can't wait for Sinful in Satin, book 3.

message 724: by Carolyn F. (new)

Carolyn F. I'm really enjoying it Alycia - I saw some of the so-so reviews and was a little worried but I'm loving it so far. I'm going to look for Provactive in Pears, I went to the back to see who the next story will be about and was totally hooked in. Who is in Sinful? I bet it's Celia. :)

The Bride is such a great book. I should reread that, again, lol. I hope you enjoy it! :)

Suzanne (Under the Covers Book blog) | 630 comments Christine S. wrote: "I finished My Fair Temptress (Governess Brides, Book #7) by Christina Dodd and just starting The Bride (Lairds' Fiancees, #1) by Julie Garwood"

Enjoy I loved The Bride, in fact I like most Julie Garwood's books.

I have decided to reread the Bridgerton books, as I haven't read them for a while and I am sure that I have missed a book out, so I am reading The Duke And I.

Christine (Cagnes) (cagnes) | 223 comments I've heard so many good things about Julie Garwood's Laird's Fiancee's series on this board that I just have to read them!

I loved the Bridgerton series! There are a few of the epilogues that I still haven't read yet, but plan to!

Suzanne (Under the Covers Book blog) | 630 comments I haven't read any of the epilogues yet, so I might get them as I go along this time. Also I haven't read any of those Whistledown books either I might give thse a try as well, if I am not all Julia Quinned out at that point!

I hope you enjoy them Christine, they are good and I always find them quite funny in a simiilar way to the way I find Julia Quinn funny actuallY!

Thanks, I think I'll like them!

I haven't read the Whistledown books yet either, but plan to read those as well. Also have her Blydon & Lindon Sisters series on hand that I've yet to read.

Suzanne (Under the Covers Book blog) | 630 comments I love "Again The Magic", it is so good, it has a secondary romance in it as well which is nice but rarely see in a LK book.

I started reading Miss Wonderful (Carsington Brothers, #1) by Loretta Chase and so far so good!

I'm just guessing, but I think that with each consecutive book in the quartet, there are new information about the Black Cobra. Stephanie Laurens added this tidbit in this book as a new detail so that readers understand the motive and characters of the Black Cobra founders.

Alex and Daniel ARE brothers, but they also partake in hedonistic activities. I'm really not surprised (okay, I am a tad bit) that this came up because I expected the founders of the Black Cobra to have "bad" personalities. It may be that they take pleasure in having sexual partners of both sexes, and they also find pleasure with each other. It is a disturbing revelation, but I'll just choke it up as part of the villains' characters.

Oh, and this kind of incestuous relationship isn't really new in Lauren's books. One of the Cynster novels (I can't remember the title, but it is there) pertains to another incestuous relationship between brother and sister (sorry for the minor spoiler here). So I guess I should not be surprised about this new turn to Alex and Daniel's relationship.

message 749: by Robin (new)

Robin | 361 comments E, I have several of the Cynsters but haven't read any of them yet. I'm waiting until I can get the ones I'm missing so I can read in chronological order. Thanks for the heads up on the brother\sister relationship. Even though I haven't finished reading it yet I'm considering writing a review of Brazen Bride based on my impression and thoughts so far. In a nutshell I don't think its one of her better ones. As for Alex and Daniel they are two really sick puppies. I cringe when she mentions them in bed together, the incest idea just totally creeps me out. Thanks again for the information and feedback.
