Bekah (bekah317) | 2750 comments Just got finished with To Desire A Devil (Legend of the Four Soldiers, #4) by Elizabeth Hoyt and getting ready to start Between the Devil and Desire (Scoundrels of St. James, #2) by Lorraine Heath

Liked the Four Soldiers series a lot and really excited to get to finishing the Scoundrel series after really loving the first in the series: In Bed With the Devil (Scoundrels of St. James, #1) by Lorraine Heath

Suzanne (Under the Covers Book blog) | 630 comments I am reading Kiss of Crimson (Midnight Breed, #2) by Lara Adrian by Lara Adrian, which I am liking alot more then the first one and also Rage Of Passion by Diana Palmer by Diana Palmer, which I am just wanting to cause the main guy alot of pain for being such a total idiot!

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 3737 comments Oh, Dhestiny. I should clarify that The Unfortunate Miss Fortunes is not an anthology. It's one story that is a collaboration by the three authors. I am loving this book. Just what the doctor ordered to close out my week. :)

Oh, ok, thanks! I'm still looking forward to it.

I just finished One Dance with a Duke and really enjoyed it. Don't know if I'll continue the trilogy or not, though. I'm worried about the comments I'm hearing about book 2.

message 858: by Danielle The Book Huntress , Certifiable St. Vinnie's Ninny (new)

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 3737 comments Yes, I'm worried about book 2, as well. Which I could just read the hero parts (or insert myself into it as the heroine--but a nice heroine). :)

message 859: by Megan (new)

Megan | 546 comments currently reading Secondhand Bride (McKettricks, #3) by Linda Lael Miller . Its really good so far.

If I were to be honest, I'd have to say that I do that anyway. Heh. Heh. Heh.

message 862: by Megan (new)

Megan | 546 comments I just started Again The Magic by Lisa Kleypas today. It is so good! Why did I not read this sooner?!?!

message 863: by UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish, Your Humble Servant (new)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments I don't know, Megan. Must be you didn't ask me what you should read next or I would have told you, "HEY! Read Again The Magic, it's AMAZING!" LOL

It's my favorite of the Wallflower books.

lol, it is amazing. It is nice to find an author who writes great books, again and again. I seriously love all her books. Other authors I read have good books, bad books, and "meh" books, but LK is continuosly great.

message 865: by UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish, Your Humble Servant (new)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments I absolutely agree with you about all of LK's books being great, though I've not yet read her contemps. Have you read any?

message 866: by Megan (new)

Megan | 546 comments UniquelyMoi *~*Dhestiny*~* wrote: "I absolutely agree with you about all of LK's books being great, though I've not yet read her contemps. Have you read any?"

Yeah, I've read the Travises series, very good. Sugar Daddy (Travises, #1) by Lisa Kleypas Blue-Eyed Devil (Travises, #2) by Lisa Kleypas Smooth Talking Stranger (Travises, #3) by Lisa Kleypas I think I'm in love with Jack from book 3, don't tell my husband, lol.

message 867: by UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish, Your Humble Servant (new)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments I won't tell yours if you don't tell mine! I'm in love with so many different heroes I can't even remember all of their names! LOL

HAHA, I know what you mean. I use to have a "top 10" for favorite heroes, but now its more like a "top 100...or so" lol. Why is it so much easier to love a man in paper than in reality? I guess if you get sick of them in the book, you can just shut the book, where as in reality my husband will just keep talking, lol. And no, I;m not being mean to him, he would say the exact say thing about me too, lol.

message 869: by UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish, Your Humble Servant (new)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments LOLOL I think that the reason the heroes in books are so much more appealing are many.

1. They don't leave the toilet seat up.
2. They don't fart in bed.
3. They make sure the female orgasms at least 3 times before he gets lucky.
4. They don't hog the remote...

any others?

Megan, I really enjoyed Secondhand Bride, also Shotgun Bride; the first three books in the McKettrick series I loved the most.

I also loved Smooth Talking Stranger the best. That's the book that got me started reading Lisa.

message 873: by [deleted user] (new)

Megan and Katherine, I loved the McKettrick series the best. I wish she would add to this series.... I wasn't that crazy about the McKettrick's of Texas and Montana Creeds; yes they did seem alike. I think her writing style was different than in the early McKettrick series. I found myself skipping over a lot of pages. I also enjoyed her Springwater series and her Women of Primrose Creek series.

message 874: by [deleted user] (new)

Has anyone ever read books by Eloisa James? I understand she has a new one out.
Is she good?

message 875: by UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish, Your Humble Servant (new)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments Not me, not yet anyway.

message 876: by Katherine (new)

Katherine | 828 comments Not me either Peg.

Peg, thanks for the info on the McKettricks. I will have to pick up some of the earlier series. I've heard a lot of raving for them. I really enjoy historical westerns anyway.

message 877: by [deleted user] (new)

I love historical westerns also. Try the first three books of the early McKettricks (you can find them on thriftbooks.com or betterworldbooks.com) High Country Bride, Secondhand Bride and Shotgun Bride. If you like them, then you can continue with the rest. Also look on those two sites for the Springwater series and the Women of Primrose Creek series.

Have you found any other western authors besides Linda Lael Miller????

message 878: by Katherine (new)

Katherine | 828 comments Probably the most recent would be Catherine Anderson, I read some of the Coulter series.

message 879: by [deleted user] (new)

katherine, I have all of her Coulter series. Have read Keegan's Lady, Baby Love, Summer Breeze so far.

message 881: by Danielle The Book Huntress , Certifiable St. Vinnie's Ninny (new)

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 3737 comments I read Midnight Pleasures by Eloisa James. It was pretty good. I have a few others in my mountain.

message 882: by Megan (new)

Just finished Secondhand Bride (McKettricks, #3) by Linda Lael Miller and Again The Magic by Lisa Kleypas (which was so good I read it twice this weekend! :) )

message 883: by UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish, Your Humble Servant (new)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments Megan, I'm soooooooooooo glad you loved Again The Magic. It's truly an all time favorite Kleypas read and McKenna a top hero.

I loved Keegan's Lady, read Summer Breeze also but some how missed Baby Love. LOL

message 885: by [deleted user] (new)

Katherine, someone told me to start off reading Baby Love and I did. It was really good. I think you will like it. Loved the two main characters.

message 886: by Katherine (new)

Katherine | 828 comments Thanks, I'm going to the used bookstore today and I will look for it.

Katherine | 828 comments I'm starting Scandal in Spring (Wallflowers, #4) by Lisa Kleypas and looking forward to it.

message 888: by Carolyn F. (new)

Carolyn F. I finished Lover Avenged late last night. I think this is the best Black Dagger Brotherhood book in my opinion.

message 889: by Danielle The Book Huntress , Certifiable St. Vinnie's Ninny (new)

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 3737 comments I'm reading Sun Kissed by Catherine Anderson. I love the horse aspects. And the characters are very three-dimensional.

message 890: by UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish, Your Humble Servant (new)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments I'm reading To Conquer a Highlander. I love Mary Wine's writing. The story is good, not too fluffy, not too intense.

message 891: by Becky (new)

Becky (beckysbusyreading) | 320 comments I was considering To Conquer a Highlander but I never read Mary Wine before but now I plan to read-thanks!!

message 892: by UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish, Your Humble Servant (new)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments I enjoy her Highlanders, Becky. They aren't like Garwood, there's more historical detail, but quite entertaining.

Suzanne (Under the Covers Book blog) | 630 comments Has Mary Wine written other things aswell? I am sure I have run a cross a sci fi erotica series by her before.

message 894: by UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish, Your Humble Servant (last edited Jul 20, 2010 03:07PM) (new)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments Suzanne,

I don't know about her writing Sci Fi Erotice, sorry. She wrote In Bed With A Stranger by Mary Wine - In The Warrior's Bed by Mary Wine - and Let Me Love You by Mary Wine all of which I really liked. Though Let Me Love You, because of the nature of the story, was very narrative. I mean, we spent a lot of time in the heroine's head because she lived and worked alone, so there was little chance for dialog in many cases.

message 895: by D.G. (new)

D.G. I'm reading Spider-Touched, the second book in the Ghostland series.

message 896: by Becky (new)

Becky (beckysbusyreading) | 320 comments I am interested in the new Anne Stuart books coming out Aug, Sep, & Oct. I have never read an Anne Stuart but the series sounds really good-does anyone have an opinion of Anne's work? Or have read the new release "Ruthless" (there must be early release because there are some for sale on amazon)?

message 897: by UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish, Your Humble Servant (new)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments I know Danielle really likes Anne Stuart. I've not yet read anything by her, though. I'm sure she'll stop by and share her thoughts - Danielle, not Anne Stuart.

Suzanne (Under the Covers Book blog) | 630 comments What Anne Stuart book would you recommend reading Danielle? I checked her out and she has loads of books!

message 899: by Megan (new)

Megan | 546 comments Have you ever read a book that has left you emotionally drained? I just finished Honor Bound by Sandra Brown and it was quite the emotional rollercoaster, but very good.

message 900: by UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish, Your Humble Servant (new)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments That's what Whitney, My Love did to me. Emotionally drained me!
