What are you reading?
LOL!!! No, I can't smuggle much since my hands are tied up with my walker. I have to just be bold, blatant and unapologetic. LOL

LOL"LOL, I feel like I should make up matching T-shirts for us that say "Bold, Blatant, and Unapologetic, Back off my books!" lol, my husband would be speechless, a good but rare quality in a man. ;)
I really liked:
It had all thats good about Anne Stuart's novels....dark dangerous hero, with secrets and super yummy in the sack. You're never really sure if they're gonna kill you or pleasure you to death.
UniquelyMoi *~*Dhestiny*~* wrote: "ROFLMAO!!!!!! Now that would be priceless and I'd LOVE to see the look on his face!"lol, he likes to hide my books from me when I leave a room and watch me panic and search the house for 10 aganizing minutes before he "discovers" them in a closet and once even in the microwave, lol, so I probably shouldn't push it to far or he might hide them for real and not just playfully.
LOL He sounds like a really great guy! My husband is good about my book buying addiction, too. He knows that it's one of the few ways I can get out of the house, ya know? By reading about places in my books :)

I have! I've left them in the trunk until he's gone and then I'll bring them out. He noticed one of my stacks was growing and I did that Gob Bluth, "It's magic!" bringing my arms out. He didn't think it was funny.

Hi, Suzanne. Anne has so many good books. It's hard to say where to start. A lot of her new fans like the Ice series. The heroes are stone-cold killer types with very flexible morals. Not sure if that's your thing or not. I know you like Christine Feehan, so I think you'd like AS. She doesn't write as detailed sex as CF does, and her heroes aren't stalkerific like CF, but she has the dangerous hero down pat. Here are the books:
Black Ice
Cold As Ice
Ice Blue
Ice Storm
Fire And Ice
Unfortunately, most of my faves are out of print. I am looking forward to her new historical series, The Wicked House of Rohan:
The Wicked House of Rohan
Ruthless
Reckless
Breathless
Thanks Danielle, just checked and my library has some of the Ice series. Do they need to be read in order?I am reading Julia's Chocolates at the moment, but Devil in Winter has arrived and I can't wait to reread that!

Nothing :(I finished Lady Isabella's Scandalous Marriage last night and I don't have anything left in hand to week. This weekend will be miserable without a book
I put 3 out of the 4 wallflower series I own on ebay a few minutes ago to make $$ for new book purchases to come.
Tanith how did you like "Lady Isabella"? I'm reading "madness" right now and loving it.Amiee, glad you are enjoying it. Judith actually posted on her board the other day. She hadn't been heard from in years and she is working on a new book. So hopefully next year we will have a new book from her.
currently reading
. I didn't realize how much I missed Harper and Tolliver (already read books 2-4).
Megan aka *Mheghan* wrote: "currently reading

Katherine, I liked Mac & Isa's story but not as much as the Madness book. I guess having a hero that was a bit mad like Ian was really different which makes it more memorable. However, I do like how Mac is so passionate.I am looking forward to Cam's story, but that is soooo far away.
Finished
. It was really good but I hate that there won't be any more books in this series. I really liked all 4 of them. Just started
and picked up
from the library.
I'm on holiday- I read Julie Garwood's "The Bride"- it was ok, but didn't grab me (too modern in style for a thousand years ago and not enough accurate historical detail). I have Diana Gabaldon's "An Echo in the Bone" that I picked up at the airport-not getting into it so far.I've finished Ben Kane's "The Forgotten Legion" which was fair but very graphic in places and I'm just trying to finish "Half a Yellow Sun" which is good but a bit gruesome then onto "War and Peace" or "Adam Bede".
Mshj, if it's historical accuracy you like with your romance, try reading Pamela Clare's Highlanders, Mary Wine's historicals, which are also Highlanders, and Kathleen Given's historicals which are a blend of Highlanders and English, Norman, Saxon, and Vikings.
I just finished
, and I loved, Loved, LOVED it! I'm off to find the first one to read about the first Duke of Claymore.

You should read A Kingdom of Dreams. That's the book about the first Duke of Claymore.
Have you read any other McNaught novels? She's one of my favorite authors.

I'm currently reading The Summoning by Kelly Armstrong. I'm loving her writing style. It's very engaging.

You should also read 'Until You' which is Stephen Westmoreland's story (Clayton's brother).
Just finished The Summoning by Kelly Armstrong. I'm now starting [Book: Again the Magic] by Lisa Kleypas.

I also loved this book! I wish McNaught would write more historicals.

I don't look for a high degree of accuracy but that one was a step to far for me. I mean that for example LK's books aren't perfect in terms of accuracy but the period she is writing about is modern times- only 150 years ago or so. Anyhow I'll look out for your suggestions- currently on page 60 of "War and Peace" so that one could take a while!!
I also might look out for some more Laura Kinsale- I thought that she was pretty impressive from a historical accuracy point of view.
I loved Garwood's historicals because for me, while not historically accurate, they were fun, feel good reads. The other author's I've mentioned, their books are romance as well, but have more of a historical accuracy about them. I hope you enjoy them :)

I'm taking a break from Emma Holly's "Midnight Series" and reading a contemporary erotica anthology called "Some Like it Rough." It's good, like 4 stars, but it's not grabbing me. I think I'm in a phase where nothing I read wows me, ya know? I probably need to reread one of my Keeper Shelf books to get my groove back. ;)
Finished
and started
. I think I'm going to like the Wallflowers as much as I enjoyed The Hathaways. Also listening to
on audio book.

I just finished
by Mary Balogh. It was an OK read...the hero was fun and all but I found this obsession with falling in love of the heroine tiring. I know, I know what you'll say...of course in romance heroines are always thinking of love but this woman was over the top. She even said at some point that there shouldn't be lust in marriage only love (as you can imagine, I was all WTF?) It seemed as instead of naturally falling in love, they were forced to do so by the heroine and her nonsense.
I read the first one in the Huxtable series and I didn't like it that much either, I was hoping that they got better!
Carolyn, my husband couldn't get into the Sookie books but he LOVED the Harper Connelly books and agrees with you. He wishes she would continue that series. ;)

However the thinking about marriage that you have just described above was very much what "ladies" in that time were expected to think. Remember Holly Taylor in "Where Dreams Begin" and her "perfect" marriage to George?

I was so bummed that my library didn't have that book the other day. I really wanted to read it. (I still left the library with 6 or 7 books, I had to ease my pain somehow! lol) Speaking of multiple books, has anyone else ever smuggled books into the house so your significent other doesn't catch you? lol, I feel like such a criminal!
