I screamed with laughter reading that one. I'm not in a rush to reread though- I thought "Your Scandalous Ways" grabbed me more. The campanile scene!

I don't have that one yet! It's next on the list!

I love the McKettrick series, especially the historicals, books 1-4!
I'm taking a little HR break & going back to the Dark Hunters... just starting

I know i'm late with this... Danielle, but CF??? Feehan??

Me too- who is CF?

Aah. I just read Julie's review of Dark Prince I think (as I have some quite similar tastes to her) and I'm still chuckling. A quote from Julie : "Although it is almost unheard of for the hero and the heroine of the same book to be TSTL, I thought that Mikhail and Raven both were on more than one occasion."

I think so many times with a series the author is kinda feeling her way through the first novel. You have all the world-building to do, and many times a series doesn't start to gel until the second book. This is certainly true of the Carpathian novels. ;)

Thanks for the mention Mshj. Yeah, those two really got on my nerves.;-)"
Thanks : )

I enjoyed Two Little Lies more than One Little Sin. You could actually see the cogs in Quinn's mind going round as he figured out his mistakes. I'm looking forward to "Three Little" which I have ready for the spell SepTember challenge but Outlander is now in progress!

I loved it too!"
Despite my caution I am going to put one of her books on my "to read list" to see what I think. I'll report back!

I hope you like this one. I did, but many didn't. Don't give up on it, I think the ending pulls it all together nicely.

I need to read this one. I read the second in the series not realizing it was a series. Let me know how you like it.

I will Katharine.

I actually skipped the first one and read 2-6. Working on getting the rest of them. I did like them, not a normal vamp book, which I was glad for bc I don't normally dig those.

I finished Outlander over the weekend-it didn't grab me and pull me in as I'd hoped it would. Maybe I had too much information going into it-and that meant I had preconceived expectations. Do we ever find out Geillis Duncan's back story by the way?
I didn't think it was bad though- very interesting in places but maybe the pacing was a bit too uneven for me to really love it. Wonderful historical detail- very little seemed out of place. There may have been a little too much violence - not because I object to it per se but because I can never figure out the choreography on fight scenes so I tend to skim over them and that takes me out of the super-absorbed reading state. I read it over 3 evenings and I think it's a 3.5 stars for now. I'll read the next one in the series I think and see how she hits her stride- hopefully no Loch Ness Monsters!!

*I didn't get that wonderful sense that sometimes happens when you are reading a book and have got too absorbed of being lightheaded/dizzy because your body is so focused on the book that it isn't processing much external information.

Gellis back story is discussed a lot more in Dragonfly in Amber.

Thank you- I hate it when characters get abandoned with no explanation so I'll look forward to finding out more. That section of the book where Claire is living in Leoch together with the section in the abbey were my favourite parts. I have put DIA into my amazon basket with voyager but it'll have to wait until next month.

Good point- I can see 8 copies in the county and reservable online.
BTW I am reading Gentle Rogue and cackling a lot. It is not quite the same literary endeavour as Outlander but many swashes are being buckled.

James Mallory and Georgie. Which is Derek?

Actually I think it may be your fault I'm reading it- there was some discussion of favourite heroes that stuck in my mind. I guess Derek must be a favourite LK hero of yours!

I loved Derek and Sara's story in Dreaming of You...it's one of my faves of LK's.

I got that from the paperback swap at the library last week. Haven't had a chance to read it yet though. It looks good! How is it?

"
I am glad I inspired you to read it lol, I hope you like it, I couldn't resist James, he always sticks in my mind (even if I do get his name mixed up!)
That is true Derek is a favorite, if not THE favourite LK hero! You should definately read it it UM, it is such a good book.

I liked it. Its one of those books though where you get a sense of where things go from here there's no Epilogue and when it ends you're like wait I wasn't ready yet, I wanted to spend some more time with these people. As for the description of her house I think it starts on pg. 70 and goes through pg 71.(e-version) I wish my library was that organized.

The BBC does a radio show of these books I think. Very funny. I just checked- it is a BBC show but not available right now, however the voice of Agatha is played by Penelope Keith (To the Manor Born and The Good Life) and she reads the audio CDs.
