D.G. - the last book in the Hathaway series is Love in the Afternoon and so you have one more to go. You even get a little more of Leo ! This was my 2nd favourite in the series.

D.G. Carol - The book in my post above IS Love in the Afternoon Love in the Afternoon (The Hathaways, #5) by Lisa Kleypas . See the love letters in the cover. :)

Leo's book is Married By Morning with the white cover: Married By Morning (The Hathaways, #4) by Lisa Kleypas

message 1303: by D.G. (new)

D.G. I've been on a steady diet of historicals and paranormals so I'm DYING to read a contemporary.

message 1304: by Carolyn F. (new)

Carolyn F. I just finished Obsession Untamed (Feral Warriors, #2) by Pamela Palmer and What Happens In Vegas... Hot For You\Stripped\Red-Handed\The Deal by Anya Bast . Now I'm reading Love You to Death by Shannon K. Butcher .

D.G - sorry ! I think I will have to get my glasses changed :)

Katherine | 828 comments Finished Sizzling Sixteen (it didn't sizzle at all) and starting Three Nights with a Scoundrel (Stud Club, #3) by Tessa Dare .

message 1308: by D.G. (new)

D.G. LOL, Carol!

I'm reading two books at once...one in Spanish and the other one in English. The one in English The Sins of Lord Easterbrook (Rothwell #4) by Madeline Hunter is weird...don't know what to make of this book.

message 1309: by Katherine (new)

Katherine | 828 comments D.G. it looks like "the Sins of Lord Easterbrook" is the 4th in the series. Did you read the other books? If not maybe that is why it seems weird. Just a thought.

MashJ | 733 comments My Lady Notorious (Malloren, #1) by Jo Beverley

A great romp. I'm really pleased to have found Jo Beverley and Mary Jo Putney- good additions to my reading list. We went camping on Saturday and I had such a bad nights sleep that I finished Dragonfly in Amber (Outlander, #2) by Diana Gabaldon and The Silver Eagle (Forgotten Legion Chronicles, #2) by Ben Kane . I'd read part of both of them already so I took them to finish off.

I'm saving Voyager (Outlander, #3) by Diana Gabaldon and Adam Bede (Modern Library Classics) by George Eliot for my cycle trip to the Nehterlands next week.

Katherine - recently read 'Three Nights with a Scoundrel' and it is definitely my favourite from the Stud Club series. Hope you enjoy it.

Mandy Glover | 576 comments A Lady of Persuasion, Tessa Dare (my phone won't let me use the add/book thingie)

message 1314: by Katherine (new)

Katherine | 828 comments Carol I am enjoying it. Julian is quite the mystery man. Can't wait to find out all his secrets.

Mandy how is Persuasion? I haven't looked up Tessa Dare's other books.

message 1315: by Mandy (new)

Mandy Glover | 576 comments Katherine, it was the least favorite. I enjoyed the others and felt some connection with the characters but Bela really irritated me. It was good though and there were some humourous moments. A definite read to finish out the series.

message 1316: by Carolyn F. (new)

Carolyn F. I finished Blameless (The Parasol Protectorate, #3) by Gail Carriger and Relentless (Federation Chronicles, #2) by Lauren Dane . Now reading Grimspace (Sirantha Jax, #1) by Ann Aguirre

D.G. Katherine wrote: "D.G. it looks like "the Sins of Lord Easterbrook" is the 4th in the series. Did you read the other books? If not maybe that is why it seems weird. Just a thought."

Yes, I've read the other 3. The book is still weird, LOL!

Easterbrook has been a strange character from the beginning of the series so at least now I know the reason why. But it felt a bit disconnected because although there were some very small hints as to the cause of his excentricities in the behavior of his brothers, the explanation is a bit fantastic in a series that was just historical romance.

For example, imagine if during Love in the Afternoon we learned that Beatrix could speak to animals like Dr. Doolittle. It would have made that last book really weird when there were no hints in the other books that the series had fantastic elements. Something similar happened in this book.

message 1318: by Katherine (new)

Katherine | 828 comments D.G. I see what you mean. That would make the story seem very odd.

Kate (literarykate) | 95 comments Starting Summer at Tiffany today for my September challenge. I've been looking forward to reading this one since I'm a huge Audrey Hepburn fan and love anything vintage. The cover is just gorgeous with the Tiffany blue title and the building in the background. I'm also planning on re-reading Vision in White this weekend. :)

D.G. I'm now reading From Dead to Worse (Sookie Stackhouse, #8) by Charlaine Harris . I'm reading a lot of series books because of a series challenge I'm hosting/participating on PBS. At least I've been able to advance a lot of series I'm reading. :p

Me too! I have about 10 pages to go and I'm hooked on this series. I'll have to pick up the next book soon. I already got book 3 from a library sale for 50 cents. A Duke of Her Own is a great book as is the rest of the series. When the Duke Returns is my favorite though.

message 1342: by Katherine (new)

Katherine | 828 comments I just noticed "A Duke of her own" is #6. Does this series need to be read in order?

message 1343: by Kate (last edited Sep 12, 2010 07:57PM) (new)

Kate (literarykate) | 95 comments Six is Leopold's book and he does feature in the others but more so in 5 than any of the other books. I would read 5 before 6 but that's as far back as you would need to go.

MashJ | 733 comments I really, really shouldn't be reading this- I have shedloads of work to do, I've got to get ready to go on holiday on Thursday and it's not even one of my spell September books! But I couldn't resist when I got home this evening and found it had arrived. I so enjoyed the first in the series (the second not quite so much).

Something Wicked (Malloren, #3) by Jo Beverley

I am reading It Happened One Autumn one of the Wallflower Series. I am confused -- who is St Vincent? Have we read about him in any other books?

He is the hero of the next one- Devil in Winter, but I don't think he is mentioned in any earlier books. He does pop up again in the Hathaways though.
