Christine (Cagnes) (cagnes) | 223 comments I'm reading Romancing Mister Bridgerton Romancing Mister Bridgerton (Bridgertons, #4) by Julia Quinn by Julia Quinn. I LOVE this series, it reminds me of LK's Hathaway series... a large family with lots of love & teasing.

Sara from LK's "Dreaming of You" is briefly mentioned in this book.

I really, re..."

I loved it also. It was't a typical romance and it had a really deep storyline, so good. Lisa Kleypas is such a great author and isn't afraid to dive into a not so pretty story.

I'm liking it so far, but it's been a little lighter than I typically expect from LK. There also hasn't been much character development for Simon. I usually instantly fall for LK's heroes, but on page 165, I barely feel like I know him yet. I still have well over half the book to go though, so maybe she'll pull out a "wow" on me yet. If not, it should still be a pretty good read.:-)

message 562: by UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish, Your Humble Servant (new)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments I think it's still a good read. Simon does have a more laid back disposition.

Amar | 118 comments Joy of joys, I have discovered Susan Elizabeth Phillips...her books are sooooo good!!

message 564: by Tanith (new)

Tanith | 50 comments Im trying to get my hands on 'The Madness Of Lord Ian MacKenzie' jennifer ashley but have been advised its out of stock...I guess ill have to go to EBAY.

Susan Elizabeth Phillips is one of my FAVs
But she takes so long to get a book out- its agonizing, but no complaining because her characters and storyline arent flimsy

message 565: by Amar (new)

Amar | 118 comments Tanith, thanks for that info... I'm busy catching up SEP's backlist, guess I should pace myself. I read on her website, she doesn't have a book due out until '11.

message 575: by Carolyn F. (new)

Carolyn F. It's good so far but did you notice the similarities between this and Patricia Brigg's Mercy books. They're both American Indians living in Washington State who are both mechanics, who can change into coyotes and deal with the Fae. Murphy's book was published in in 2005 and the first Mercy was published in 2006. I think this is too strange.

message 576: by Danielle The Book Huntress , Certifiable St. Vinnie's Ninny (new)

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 3737 comments I think CE Murphy went more into the celtic mythology and the NA mythology than Briggs. Briggs is more into the werewolf aspects with her books.

Carol Cork *Young at Heart Oldie* (httpsrakesandrascalswordpresscom) | 2140 comments I've just ordered "The Madness of Lord Ian MacKenzie" by Jennifer Ashley. In the meantime, I'm reading "Stillwatch" by Mary Higgins Clark.

I just finished Hard and Fast by Erin McCarthy. It got really good reviews but I wasn't drawn in by the characters

lol, they are great, you will love them! These are my first books by Linda Lael Miller. She is such a great author, quickly becoming a favorite of mine. One paragraph I'll be laughing so hard, and the next I'll be blushing and making the old hubby suspicious. There is one scene is the third book that happens at Wal Mart, and OMG, too funny/hot. Definitely would recommend them, especially is you like reformed bad boys/cowboys. Yum!

I LOVED that book. Julie Garwood is amazing. I wish she would write more historical romances and continue the series.

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments Megan, you should check out At the Bride Hunt Ball by Olivia Parker. She's not Garwood, but her heroine, Madelyn, reminded me of some of Garwood's heroines. Funny stuff.

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments You're welcome!!! I recommended it to a few people, then couldn't remember who. Sorry!! It's a great, light read.

I'm reading the sequel, To Wed a Wicked Earl by Olivia Parker right now and really liking it as well.

Megan -- what did you think of White Lies?

message 597: by Megan (new)

Megan | 546 comments I gave it 3 stars, which I rarely do. It wasn't bad, but it was in the romance section, not mystery, and it was definitely mystery more than anything. It was good overall and not like anything I've ever read before. I'm just stuck on romance books right now and can't seem to move on to anything else at the moment, much to my husbands dislike, lol. He calls my romance book "fantasy books", lol I married a smart@ss.

message 598: by Bekah, Fellow Kleypasaholic (new)

Bekah (bekah317) | 2750 comments Thanks for the info and the cover certainly looks romancey.

message 599: by Carolyn F. (new)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments I really want to recommend At the Bride Hunt Ball by Olivia Parker and the sequel To Wed a Wicked Earl by Olivia Parker . If you're looking for a great historical romance, those are definitely worth looking into. They reminded me so much of Garwood, Quinn and Kleypas.
