Featured Author Reading Challenge

[Yz the Whyz, Moderator]

A new challenge for 2010 where we will feature a new romance author each month.

Authors will be selected based on popularity and must have a booklist no less than 10 books under their names. They can write under different genres or might be focused on only one.

The challenge is to read one book written by our selected author.

You must complete the book within the month.

If we can suggest on this thread then I would definitely recommend Jacquelyn Frank. Not sure how popular she is, but I know she is an amazing Writer. Almost as good as J.R. Ward who is also a must for this list, though she only has 9 true novels.

Actually, J. R. Ward has authored more than 9 novels. She wrote contemporary romance as Jessica Bird quite a while before starting the BDB. If you count The BDB Insider's Guide, The Story of Son from Dead After Dark and the soon to be released Lover Mine her total is 20.

YZ: I signed up and completed the FAC for March. I'm message #55 under that month's thread and that's where I posted my completion date and that I was now an "A" category for that author (having been a "B" when I signed on for the challenge). However, I don't see my name listed as having completed the challenge in this "round up" thread (your message #21).

Did I post my completion info in the wrong thread of discussion?

What happened is you edited your original post, and normally I don't go back through the threads to see. I just check new posts for updates. Next time, just put in a new post that you have completed. Help make things easy for me. : )

Will do. In fact, I finished April's FAC on 4.16 (Night Embrace)and LOVED IT! At the start of that challenge I was a "C" but I'm definitely now an "A" category for that author.

She has a huge booklist, so finding a book by hers will not be a problem. You might want to read some reviews before you pick which one you get.

I, myself, am partial to her Ghostwalkers series, and although I like her Dark/Carpathian series, the earlier books were a little tough to get through.

I just finished my July choice(7.10) for the author Janet Evanovich. I read Two for the Dough. Began this challenge as an "A" and am still an "A" after reading this one. I just love these characters!
