4. In the beginning, Author created the stand alone book. It was seen to be good, but Publisher said, 'people liked this but we want more of the same' and the Sequel was born. And Sequel begat Trilogy. And Trilogy begat MiniSeries. And Publisher and Author begat 'I can't say no to more money so I'm going to keep writing these F'n things though the quality has been gone since book three'. - Welcome to Temptation (Dempsey's Book 1) by Jennifer Crusie (1/2)

One more question, I started "Dark Lover" TODAY, will it count as "Beginnings: Read a book that is first of a series. " ?? even though I started it before joining this contest?
And what about other books I've started and finished in Jan before joining this? like "Something Borrowed" by Emily Griffin, will it count as " In with the New: Read a book by an author that is "new" to you. " ?

You can simply put together your list and post it in this thread. That will signify that you are participating.
Yes, any books you have read for the month of January can be counted. Just put an approximate finished date. However, books that you started reading before January 1st cannot be used. Easy enough?
