Hmm...tricky question, Mel. The goal is to make a dent on our TBR pile...so in essence, rereads do not qualify.
However, let's say, when you originally read the book, you didn't own it, but you enjoyed it so much, you went out and bought your own copy. Now you have it at home, but haven't read it yet or reread it yet...then I will consider it as a TBR book...Makes sense?
So using that as guideline...i'll leave it up to your discretion.

That's the idea, Jessica.
Get rid of the old ones, (the ones we keep promising we will read but never got around to), in order to welcome the New Year...meaning more new books...LOL

Vicci wrote: "Yz, can you clarify "physical TBR pile"? Are these books that are on your goodreads TBR list, that you physical own? Does the format matter. I have books that are duplicated in (print books, ebook..."
What I meant by "physical TBR pile" are books that you actually owned or are in your possession. I would prefer you pick books that you have owned for quite some time, but have kept postponing to read it, because you keep getting sidetracked. This is the month to get it done....LOL...That's why no changing of your list once it is up.
Format does not matter. Print books, ebooks, audiobooks - they are all acceptable.

Question - I have some books that are coming out in December that I preordered a while back. Can those count since they are on my virtual TBR shelf but will be on my physical shelf once they arrive? :D

As much as possible, we keep our choices to books that have some paranormal element in them, due to the nature of the group where we are hosting the challenges. However, if you sneak in a couple of non-PNR books, I'm not going to make a fuss about it. :)

DURATION: Dec. 1, 2009 - Dec. 31, 2009
Here are the rules:
1. Pick 9 books from your current physical TBR pile (preferably books that have been there for quite some time). Also pick 6 more books as 'alternate' reads just in case.
Unlike previous challenges, once you put up this list, you CANNOT CHANGE it. However, you can drop down to an alternate book, if you really cannot finish a book that you have selected in your original list. Fair enough?
Now, for those who don't have enough books (15 in total) in their current TBR pile, to complete your list (both original and alternate) go to your GR to-be-read shelf, and pick how many more you still need from the first 5 pages of that shelf.
Again, you can post your list anytime you like, but no reading until the 1st of December.
Have fun going through your shelves!
